Hi ladies, i keep popping back especially now as DP has realised what i have said about DS2 not being ready for potty training yet!!!!

I can buy some more nappies woohooooo

thebluefoxategreensocks · 03/02/2010 23:29

Afraid Benjamin has slept so much better since wearing disposables! He gets rather tense in the night in his privates, esp when he needs to empty his bladder, and thick/boosted cloth nappies don't give him enough space for feeling comfy/relaxed. Well, the new Stretchies from Tots Bots do have the space/flexibility, but not sure how to get him used to feeling damp at night after wearing sposies for months, because his wees are too big/powerful to cope with fleece/suedecloth at night. But Clement is happily in cloth at night, so that's good! We use either BGv3s or the Bamboozle Stretch - and will be all Stretchies when I can buy some more! ... but maybe boys & night cloth is just hard to sort - I think girls are easier! LOL

theladyevenstar · 03/02/2010 23:31

I had a few probs with Zachary and night times but have found a few extra boosters work wonders lol....just as you suggested agessssssssss ago Rachel

hi there
was on here a while ago, had an unsuccessful first attempt with cloth. I am now doing better and he's in cloth for one or two days a week (because I only have a few nappies)

the pop n gros have been returned to lollipop and the one lifes are in a pile ready to be sold

I have a tots bost and an itti d'lish which work really well on my LO if bosted a little at the front (LO is a boy) and want more of them, what are the best sites to buy them from?

also, please can someone link octo's site again, I still havent bought the re-usable sandwich bags I had my eye on

thanks

LackaDAISYcal · 04/02/2010 00:50

rachel, could you try the bamboo with a fleece liner? You could always cut some fleece so that it covers most of the nappy rather than just using the rectangular ones?

sal, which tots bots nappy do you have? the new tots stretchy bamboo are fantastic, and have a booster that you could fold as needed.

I would love to chat but just not getting the chance. bumble is too active and as soon as I pick up the laptop, heads off for a bit of wanton destruction so I have to go sort him out.

gaaaaaargh, he's awake again

don't forget me.......

salbysea · 04/02/2010 00:55

LackaDAISYcal where can I buy them from?

am also thinking of giving coolababys a go
and have 2 cheapies from ebay to try (boosted of course!)

LackaDAISYcal · 04/02/2010 00:55

he was only dreaming, bless him, and is muttering "mine mine" so obviously reliving the fact that DD steals every single toy that he touches these days!

Babybots · 04/02/2010 08:21

Hiya All,

I'm here! Sorry been awol this week. Been a bit manic here again.

Salbysea I'm glad your experiences are improving!

Daisy I have the same problem with my walking DS, he has a fit when I pick the laptop up! (not helpful when I'm trying to run a business.

jenny I hope you got some sleep!

Bagpuss - Wishing you loads of thoughts as you prepare for the Balloon cath op (another one my DS1 had) Hope it works well.

I've swapped my nappy and wrap combo at nights! Which is very shock horror as I swear by them usually! Ds's skin seems to be much better in the suede cloth lined pockets over night. SO boosted Bumg's are working well at the moment with a fleece cover just in case.

I've now forgotten the rest so Hi to everyone and I'll be about later on.

GTG DS is ripping the Agros book to bits!

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 04/02/2010 10:05

I think we might have to go in sposies for a while . I don't like them but the washing is getting stacked up, so think I need to catch up and then start again. My Nappy bucket is full to the brim - and its a BIG bucket (about 3 wash loads full!) even though it was empty yesterday morning! But both girls were in AIOs/pockets yesterday which always fill it up quicker, and wipes as well, and then T soaked her bed this morning so shoved her trousers and growbag in there as they were soaked in wee.

Plus lots of clothes washing to do as I have been working too much. Am working today, for a customer I met at work (pub). lol. But its good money and just cleaning a bit house that has just been refurbished and being inspected tomorrow. Hoping it doesn't go on too late.

I am buying a bedbug from mumface, which will be my first ever bedbug to try .

CharlottesClan · 04/02/2010 11:25

jen my ds been in sposies for three days now, ive had to strip every since nappy in my stash because dh washed some of them with softner and tooooo much powder and i couldnt work out which ones they were. they stank! serious powder build up.

and u can imagine stripping a stash of 80+ nappies (which i nearly fainted when i counted them) takes a while

selling a load off when done as only having one in nappies now doesnt really require THAT many nappies

mumface · 04/02/2010 11:43

Yes, I can't justify 7 bedbugs with 2 WC night nappies on way

I have had a small tiff with my Itti's, they have gone squeaky!
They have gone a bit scrunchy and with my toothache I can't bear to touch them, plus had a few leaks and I think one of my snap-ins is de-laminating!!! It's one I bought 8 months ago not sure I have receipt (thats the 3rd I've had go now)
Am loving Swaddlebees pockets and BG flips right now. Have 2 Ecobub everyday coming as they were reduced to £10 at Green me and I can pull up my wool ones so should fit the same.

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 04/02/2010 11:55

mumface - my ittis AND cushies have suddenly gone squeeky too! No idea why!

Have decided sposies today as I am off to work now and then flips tomorrow as they are a lot less washing than any of my other nappies!

Babybots · 04/02/2010 11:59

Mumface - just send it to whoever you brought it from, (or send to me i'll replace it for you) we can all get credit for faulty ones.

I've just given my nappies another strip and sanitise as some of them are a bit whiffy for some reason.

mumface · 04/02/2010 12:17

Jenny, I usually use bold powder but used liquid one in drum lately instead, don't like it as much could be that making them squeaky?
Babybots, thanks will give it another couple of washes and see but it's definately going like the others did. Then will send to you if it gets worse.

bagpuss · 04/02/2010 12:53

Afternoon all.

Mumface, so glad you've brought up crunchy itti issues. Some of mine are a bit scrunchy and they also happen to be the ones that are slightly bigger and have longer inserts in them. Maybe a rogue batch? Mine do not leak but they are decidedly clammy to the touch at times. I am not impressed and do not plan on replacing when they are outgrown. I had thought that they were lovely and after getting them to work finally I ordered two more (brand new) and now I have really fallen out with them . I would rather use the bg flips at the moment - they are by far my favourite AI2 I think.

I am having a wrap crisis at the moment. The dts have grown out of all their small wraps in the rise and so I got out the medium wraps for them. All my med airflows are too big though! They are baggy on the waist and the leg holes are massive so I am down to one rikki each and one nature babies. They are constantly in the wash too as I use them overnight and so I have nothing to use in the day until they get bigger. Off to do some shopping I think .

Babybots, thank you . DS1 has been for catheters twice now and so I am fairly familiar with them but I am still feeling nervous at the thought of dt2 undergoing one.

Rachel, ds2 was in cloth at night all throughout the time he wore nappies and I didn't find it too much of a hassle but we did have some mad combos though . I remember putting him to bed in a terry square once with another terry in the middle as a super huge booster and then a red wrap over the top. It was so huge he could hardly stand up . He didn't complain though and was lovely and dry in the morning. I think it is just a trial and error thing. DS2 was quite a big baby and my favourite night nappy was a bumble with an ellas house pocket insert inside which I folded to the front. I used either fleece or a disana wool soaker over the top.

mumface · 04/02/2010 14:19

Bagpuss- have CAT you about some wraps I have. Not sure if message will come through as I've had a couple come through blank before!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 04/02/2010 14:40

Benjamin's night nappies are complicated by the fact that we can't use ANY fleece lined nappies, and even a fleece liner (no matter the size) doesn't work either. He empties his bladder like a hose pipe all at once and the wee can't get through the fleece quick enough, and escapes out waist/leg, resulting in soaked pyjamas & bed - no matter if the wrap is wool, fleece, or PUL - it finds a way out. We tried all sorts of night nappies about a year ago (UDNN, WNNN, Bumbles, etc) and I just couldn't work out why the nappy was hardly wet, yet everything else was soaked. And then someone on CNT mentioned it, and several others said the same thing happened with their child. So he's not unique, there are others like him! Hence why we had to go to non-fleece nappies, with him just feeling damp. But he's become quite aware of feeling wet and wants changed straight away, which means disturbed sleep. And since we've had enough sleep problems due to severe eczema, we're just happy for a sleeping little boy and don't worry about the 1 disposable per night! Even with disposables, he wears a Disana tie-on nappy over the sposie (since they frequently leak), and then a size 3 Tots wrap on top - so he wears cloth & sposie at night! LOL

thebluefoxategreensocks · 04/02/2010 14:45

anyone here a fan of Amy Butler fabrics? Made this last night - size 3/4y:

LackaDAISYcal · 04/02/2010 21:00

salbysea, I cross posted with you last night, so missed your question....

stretchy bamboo available to pre-order from fill your pants

I looked at their nappy agent scheme, but the fact that they fall foul of the grammar police and call their agents nappy guru's and it's emblazoned on the side of the bag....

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 04/02/2010 21:10

octo/babybots - do you still use the chat box on sellers?

LackaDAISYcal · 04/02/2010 21:53

oooh, am excited; I've had a couple of contacts through the Go Real website

right back to knitting.....

Babybots · 05/02/2010 08:19

Morning!

Someone's replaced my son with a Snot Monster! Can I have him back now please???? Had an awful night of bunged up, chesty and coughing baby.

However the nappy didn't add to the problems, which is good!

Daisy - Great news!!

Jenny - yes I think I just missed you last night. How you doing?

Right hope everyone is ok. I best get back to my poorly boy.

4andnotout · 05/02/2010 08:40

Hello everyone have you missed me? RL has been rather hectic with hospital appointments (she is fine) district guider meetings, rainbows and brownies, packing for our weekend away, cleaning house and trying to get all laundry washed and put away in prep for weekend away phew no wonder I'm knackered! No nappy purchases here at all a few pushchair bits though and I have to go and collect the fan belt for our car later {ooh the excitement}

Some of my itti's are scrunchy too

OP posts:
Babybots · 05/02/2010 09:39

Morning 4!

Some of mine are scrunchy too but if you stretch them about a bit it stops, from what I can gather scrunchy is ok but sticky and more than a little scrunchy is not good! (keep an eye on them!)

Well done for no nappy purchases!

Right I really must get a move on!
