Toy guns. Would you allow them in your house?

My DH and his two brothers were not allowed guns in the house. So desperate were they to play gun games that they used to bite their toast into gun shapes and use them.

No one ever mentions the evils of the Pippa doll on these threads. Why is Barbie always the strereotypical culprit....Pippa, Marie, Britt, Mandy,Rosemary oh yeah and Tammy......getting nostalgic just thinking about them - might be a cue for a new thread.....!

Barbie is the one who has lingered longest, stealthily insinuating her pert pinkness into our lives. Well, not my life (thankfully). She's actually responsible for killing off Pippa et al having stolen Action Man's weaponry to conduct full scale genocide.

My mother was also pretty pinko left wing. We weren't allowed any violent toys, or dolls either (she burned her bra with the best of them). My sister did have an action man, but only the deep sea diving one, as it ws the only non-violent one you could get. He spent most of his life hanging off the side of my sister's music stand (not sure why we killed him really!). I have had to cave in on the doll front (we even yuk yuk have a my little pony!) but I really don't expect to give in on guns/military stuff.

When he is a teenager he can chose to go paintballing, I guess (I've not yet met anyone who actually enjoyed that tho).

I don't like boxing either, although pre children dh and I were keen on watching wrestling.

I think that there are so many other things to play with that I can't see it being an issue. But if it is, I guess we will cope with it when it comes. It's not something that I hugely stress about (except here, of course! )
