I have to confess to making up DD's night feeds in advance and storing them in the fridge I know I'm not surpose to but I can barely manage to locate the correct screaming DC at 3 in the morning nevermind make up a bottle of formula!

Wow this thread got nasty since yesterday.

yes wigglesworth one poster mentions the word Medised and suddenly she is accused of drugging her DC's "regularly to get some peace" - talk about a jump to conclusions.

I used Medised cos its the only medicine that DD will actual take rather than Calpol or Nurofen.

I haven't looked at this thread so far today and was shocked to read the comments from 'Lady'. Sounds like a fairly unpleasant reaction to what I thought was a fun look at parenting for a change! Why come on to this website in which I believed we all supported and jollied each other along to find comments like the ones you have put. i will think twice about joining in on a 'fun' discussion next time just in case you decide to pop up and have a bitch

I?m genuinely puzzled?.why is it bad to leave your children in the car while you pay for petrol???? Does anyone honestly unload their baby/toddler and take them in to pay I?ve never ever seen anyone do this? but I?ve seen plenty of people leave them in the car. You can see them, the place is covered with cctv and you lock your car. All seems rather odd to me.

cheesesarnie · 08/01/2010 21:41

i always take my 3 in with me.dh leaves them and i hate it.

I always leave my children in the car when paying for petrol. Why the hell would I get them out??

I used to (4 years ago) make up bottles in advance - but only the boiled water. I used to sterilise and fill them with boiled water the night before and then the next day heat the water in the microwave and then add the formula powder. I still have no idea if this was "good" or "bad" but it was easy!!

I stopped sterilising at 6 months - after the first time I saw my DD roll across the floor and put the dogs toy in her mouth (yuk!) I just felt that sterlising was pointless and just followed good hygeine as I normally would.

I have left my child home alone before. Not something I was bothered about doing at the time - however legal/illegal. Nursery was at the end of our track and if DD2 was fast asleep then I would nip out to collect DD2 and be back in 5 minutes. I used my judgement. I live down an unmade road with very little passing traffic, she was 3 months old and asleep in her cot with the door closed and I could see the house the whole time. My friend had a garden so big she couldn't hear the house properly but no one would think anything of that!!

I think any other particular guidelines I probably ignored would be things like giving the kids runny eggs/ honey before 1 years old.
