Hi all.

I'd say sizes to, as patterns and colours stand out.

Still haven't tried the wool my SS got me on. H has been a bit of a grump really. No clue why.

Still in pj's, but then I had a lie in till 12!!!!! Wow!!!!!

4 - Tomorrow you make your appointment

4CALLINGBIRDSandnotout · 27/12/2009 13:30

Tree thank you for my ss gifts they are lovely

tackyChristmastreedelivery · 27/12/2009 13:48

I sit ok 4?Was worried it wasn't fluff, and about sizing issues! I justified it that it makes a nice dress or 3/4 length sleeve tunic on larger girlie

Am lurrrrving the wool, colour especially. and that little pot of lanolin is lovely. Great idea to do that.

Love Christmas! Yay!

This SS was a great idea. I was sure of one greatly wanted gift on the day.

Considering name change!

whoknoctoverthewine · 27/12/2009 15:00

Tis tricky to get octo into a word

tackyChristmastreedelivery · 27/12/2009 15:37

That is very good - though I wouldn't spot you! Which might also be good, the desired effect!?

whoknOCTOerthewine?

Am totally unable to think of anything else.....am looking forward to getting back to my own name. I keep missing myself in threads

NappyShedSal · 27/12/2009 16:25

Octo - my stock is in sizes - much easier to sort.

4 - I too need to get booked in for a smear test - have just had my 3rd remionder ad the letter says they won't be sending me another one. But my last smear test was so horrible and painful and the nurse really lost patience with me. I was supposed to be having a coil fitted the following month and I chickened out and said that I'd rebook when I had a bitmore courage ..... 3+ years later ... Will they do a smear and a coil at the same time? I know last time they had to happen at different times of the month, but maybe they'll make an exception? Or maybe sedate me?

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 27/12/2009 17:06

Sal - I had a coil fitted about a month ago. It wasn't as bad as I thought, but she said it is a lot worse if you have never had a baby. Me having 2 within the last 2 years would have made it less painful. I have never had a smear test though - they won't do one for me because I am too young . I think that is very stupid.

whoknoctoverthewine · 27/12/2009 18:24

Mirena - brilliant - get one NOW! forget nappies, just get a mirena if naot planning any more babies!

I'm quite drunk now ...... snorts ... accidentally knocked over wine into my mouth ... snorts ... oh dear !!!

tackyChristmastreedelivery · 27/12/2009 19:12

at octo.

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 27/12/2009 19:15

Octo - its the mirena coil I have just got. But they didn't think to mention till afterwards that you can bleed for up to 6 months afterwards . Its been about 6 weeks ish I think and its and already doing my head in! Havent had it long enough to say much elsea about it! lol

tackyChristmastreedelivery · 27/12/2009 19:17

I had that!! I had a year of having no idea when or how I would bleed, then it all went away and I had 3 years period free, no pmt, no nothing. Bliss. Took it out and concieved 4 weeks later. Bonza!

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 27/12/2009 19:19

Bit jelous of you being drunk. I left the rest of my wine at my Mums and not really a drinker but really fancy a couple of glasses of wine when Talia goes to bed. Elouise still stirring and Im waiting till she is fully asleep till I put Talia up. Had a stressful day and just SO tired.

KirstyJC · 27/12/2009 19:32

Evening all ! Hope you all had a nice Christmas - am dead jealous of your SS pressies!! (No Xmas fluff for me DS ).

I would like some advice please 'cos I can't make up my mind. I need to buy another fleece wrap for nights, as when the woolly shorts are in the wash I only have one fleece wrap and the wool takes a couple of days to dry. So, I started looking around and I can't decide whether to go for another wrap with aplix (I have a tots bots spotty wrap size 2 which is great) or whether to go for a fleece soaker instead.

I have never seen a soaker but it looks like it's just a pull up, like the Disana wool shorts. Is there enough stretch to get a good fit? If not, does it actually matter? He is thinning out a bit now and I'm a bit worried that a loose soaker that can't be adjusted might leak.

Any help you lovely ladies could offer would be gratefully received....thanks

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 27/12/2009 19:38

You need to put the OCTO in capitals...took me a bit to figure it out there!!

you sound a bit merry Octo? No wine for me till after the kids are in bed!

Never mind mirena....sending DH to the vets was good for us!!!

Oh, and forgot to say that my flongies arrived on Christmas eve. They are lovely but as yet untried on as they have disappeared under a pile of nappies and I can't find the buggers! DD wants a pair as well bless her, but not sure the legs will be long enough for her. I need to get my thumb out of my butt and get up to speed with sewing machines!

4, I must apologise for my crude message on your FB post about plumping lip gloss

tackyChristmastreedelivery · 27/12/2009 19:42

I was going to suggest the same as Daisy too Octo, I should have done that too.

Haven't tried any of the fleece wraps like you descibe Kirsty, will do one day though. Lovely patterns. I have 2 of the TotsBots [preloved] and it is brill isn't it. We use massiveones [size 2 and 3] for total fleecy fit!

mumFrostyface · 27/12/2009 20:00

In my experience if a fleece soaker is slightly loose it will work fine, I have tried an xl on Connor who's only 6mths and it didn't leak, but his mediums which cover the nappy but are a bit tight leak as they squish the wee out IYSWIM. They even gape a bit on the leg but don't leak there.

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 27/12/2009 20:06

I think a bit of looseness will only work in the fleece's favour. bumble's are loose round the leg and waist and there has never been any leaky issues with us.

can recommend pumpkin pants as sold at nappy wardrobe!

We have been a bit lax where night nappies are concerned. DH usually gets him ready for bed and he has a blindspot when it comes to nightime fluff; he will always reach for a sposie, every time!

KirstyJC · 27/12/2009 20:09

Thanks ladies, will go and have a look at the pumpkin pants on Octo's site....!

Daisy it wasn't crude at all I was going to put a filthy remark about tingly lips but MIL was over my shoulder watching

I'm going to ask for a smear on tuesday and the contraceptive injection, i have had something very strange happen today, TMI warning i have had pinkish discharge as if im going to come on but no period as yet but one big clot the size of a 10p came out earlier on the loo, my period hasn't started back regular, i have had 2 since dd4 was born and they havent been regular amount of days apart. I had a cervical erosion which i had frozen before, that was making me bleed after sex and spot randomly which is a bit like is happening now, so i don't know if it has happened again. My mum had cervical and ovarian and womb cancer when she was 24 or so, so i have that in the back of my mind too iyswim?

Sorry for running on completely

Who wanted to know about fleece soakers? I had bought loads of xl for dd3 who then pt'ed so dd4 has them in her stash and although they come up to her nipples almost and bag around the leg we still get no leaks I adore fleece overnight and her flongies are being used as trousers as they are so warm.

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 27/12/2009 23:21

4, get yourself checked out. It could be a cervical erosion, but deffo worth getting things checked, especially with family history. I hadn't had a smear for over five years for various reasons, usually me being pregnant!, and have had CINII before so I was bricking it, but everything was fine.

And no worries about running on; it;s good that MN exists for having a sounding board

I'm on the early shift tomorrow, so better get to bed.

And if I have to look at any more turkey tomorrow I will scream!

tackyChristmastreedelivery · 27/12/2009 23:28

You know 4, if you went to your GP and said look, I am having these symptoms but fear of the smear makes me not come - I bet they could work something out. YOu could have a very mild sedative on the morning of the smear, and float your way through the day.
Childcare allowing obviously.

After all, all mums and wives got valium in the 50's. What do we get? Bloody 2 for 1 offers in Morrisons. Hardly compares.
