Sounds like good advice myjob ; here's hoping jenny gets a sale out of it!!!

Maybe you need a career as a nappy advisor as well?

I'm waiting for the post today and I can guarantee it will arrive when I am out on the school run. If they take it back to the office I'm snookered as it's a customer order and I said I'd deliver it on Friday and the cards are saying at least 48 hours at the minute...because they actually post them to the delivery office as I found out the other week

Right, I've organised my little model Abigail to try on the dresses I made last summer (since I'd never seen how they fit on her) and got some photos taken! I would think the size 4 is fairly true to size, as there's lots of width for growing in it - I can see her able to wear it as a top even as old as 5-6, but it's only a knee (slightly above knee) length dress at the moment. Didn't manage to find any leggings or tights to match the second dress (as Clement woke up & Benjamin was fussing!) but I think that particular print would have been very cute with leggings. [I happen to really like leggings & smock tops for little girls! ]

Anyway, any opinions greatly appreciated!

AND, if I can get myself organised to do some sewing (i.e. stay off the internet!!), I want to make a size 1 and a size 2 dress, and send the size 1 to myjob and the size 2 to 4 in exchange for their opinions as to fit/sizing (and overall opinion). Since I've only got a 4yo little girl, I wouldn't really know how the smaller sizes were, and wouldn't want to label them incorrectly. I've got some spotty cotton fabric which I have in mind for tester dresses. The quality seems to vary from colour to colour of this particular fabric, so I'm not sure it's up for selling (since it's unpredictable), but perfectly usable for testers, I'd think! I made something from the red and it faded in the wash very quickly, but the pink was perfect for Abigail's dress after lots of washes. So I think it's lime green & blue spots I have left (if I remember correctly!) .. just have to find time for sewing now!

rachel- The dressed look great. They would be nice with a large pocket on the front or an applique shape too.

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 17/12/2009 13:13

very cute dresses rachel, and if you need a size tester for an age 3

tackyChristmastreedelivery · 17/12/2009 14:26

Hi everyone, just getting ready for freezing school run but wanted to say hi.

No bedbug last night as poo arrived at 9pm and 10pm, so wuoldn't risk it for a biscuit.

No news apart from that, but ya boo sucks to the purple snap in mumfrostyface, hope you get sorted, and gogo sewinggadget Rachel on the dress front! Pocket a lovely idea.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 17/12/2009 15:25

Thanks for replies! Yes, had thought about a pocket or applique, perhaps in a contrasting fabric - or a solid colour dress with a pocket at the top, in a cute print! Lots of ideas to think about! And daisy I will remember you, just depends on how much sewing energy I can find! But will definantly think about doing a size 3 to try! So far this morning I traced off the pattern pieces for a size 1 and 2 - but that's as far as I've got!

Just back from seeing HV with all 3 little ones and all have good reports on weight & height! The older two hadn't seen a HV for a while, but since we recently moved here, she wanted to meet them all. Clement is just over 23lbs, and above the 91st centile. Older two have very similar weights to each other (despite being 16 months apart) and are around 50th centile (with slight variation). So that's all good!

And since this is a nappy chatter thread after all, today's fluffy post was a lovely GK Minkytimes in giraffe print! Was preloved but looks hardly used and is beautiful! Yes, these are my all time favourites!!

swampster · 17/12/2009 19:44

I've got a giraffe and a zebra Minky and a plain duck eggy bluey/greeny PUL one if you fancy yet another GK.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 17/12/2009 20:18

swamp: oh, you looking to sell yours then? Do you really like IBs that much? LOL

Was just looking at [[http://www.nappyzone.co.uk/greenkids.htm] this evening and dreaming of getting more!

So far, I've got:
Anytimes: 1 each of Orange, Aqua, Magenta, Saturn Blue, Sage, Red, 2 x Green

Minkytimes: Giraffe, Zebra, Lagoon, and Honeysuckle

Funtimes: blue with small stars, Nemo, Dragonflies, and some yellow/orange with Butterflies (don't think any of these are current Funtimes prints)

So I think that's 16 GKs - would be great to have the whole collection (of Minkytimes anyway - not so keen on the Funtimes, but they might be OK for summertime with a t-shirt, and of course the Anytimes are super reliable, even if not overly cute!).

Thinking about trying a GK on Clement tonight, because the poor little boy had huge welts all round his thighs this morning from a BGv3. It happens to have "very good" elastic, which means his massive thighs are just too big for it! The other two BGv3s we have are still good elastic, but not quite so tense, and they're OK (just about anyway). Seems with BGs you either have loose elastic or too much! One thing I like about the very comfy legs of the GKs and his Lagoon Minkytimes has just this evening completely contained a huge laxative induced poo! Impressed!

tackyChristmastreedelivery · 17/12/2009 20:29

That reminds me I forgot to get the laxatives the consultant prescribed H. Bugger.

She lost more weight, is just under 16lbs now. She has an appetite of a bird. Hoping more regular poo will generate more appetite.

Had leaks from BB sidesnap and BG today

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 17/12/2009 21:18

sorry to hear about DD's weightloss tree and I hope the laxatives do the trick.

I am choked with the cold here and wrapped up in layers with the heating cranked up and still shivering. I have had to send DH out on babysitting fatigue for me!!! He is a very good man

Aw rachel, I was only kidding . Sounds like you have a lot to do!

I really like the GKs that I had, and I had a strawberry print funtimes that was just lush, but sold it when I found out I was having a boy as it was a bit too girly.

whisky toddy and then off to bed for me!

Octohohohoho · 18/12/2009 10:03

Happy birthday to me!!!

Having lovely morning - off out to toddlers, then lunch at pub, then bit of christmassy shopping then family tea. Maybe a family dvd then wine and nice fire.

Just a dusting of snow here.

Ba strike is off - yeah!!! So sister/nephew will make it [hgrin]

4CALLINGBIRDSandnotout · 18/12/2009 10:08

helllooo - haven't managed shopping but lunch was lovely and just off to collect boys from school. I got a nice cardy (I chose it!), a learn italian cd , a handpainted plate, a box of choccies, a penguin birthday cake and a tag heuer aquaracer watch with pink mother of pearl face and diamonds round the edge Lush! Was such a suprise! Very chuffed.

tackyChristmastreedelivery · 18/12/2009 15:31

Wow!! I love all your pressis! You are undoubtedly worth it.

As a total aside - I bought myself a tag over a year when I graduated uni and got my first job. I lost it in Korea. Broke my heart as will never be able to have another. I never wear a watch now.

mumFrostyface · 18/12/2009 15:53

Happy birthday Octo, your watch sounds gorgeous!

I am happy I just won a raincover for phil n teds (been using car seat with cover so far) for £1.37 So Connor can sit up in the front seat now. He is 6 months today.

No reply to e-mails from Itti Bitti
May give up and sell it for what I paid. Very disappointed in their service.

Been xmas shopping for last bits in the snow this morning, then tea and cake with my mum.

swampster · 18/12/2009 16:08

Mumface, how about querying your Ittis on their FB page?
