Octooooooooo - did you just spend your sex session trying to get dh to agree to fund more nappies???????

Fair enough.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 15/12/2009 22:52

octo: at least you can buy lots of nappies for other people!

Yes, we have a couple of stay-dry liners. I think it's very similar to the Cool-Max that Finnish wahm nappies are made from, but others have disagreed with me! But I've seen both, and don't see much difference. And we do have a couple of the ME liners here (yes, I've tried just about every nappy/wrap/liners in the world! ) Was telling my husband today that I wonder how many hundreds of nappies I've had over the past couple of years, I can't even count the different brands/types/styles, nor remember them all! But I've had a lot pass through my hands! I think I need a new hobby - really! Maybe I'll try and get back to my sewing again, if I can ever stay away from the computer long enough! I wanted to make some wee dresses to sell - "limited edition" ones from random fabrics. But it takes determination to get away from computer and into sewing!

tackyChristmastreedelivery · 15/12/2009 22:55

I was thinking about your dresses just yesterday Rachel I saw some lovely patterned fabric.

Well done Evan and kmummy for catching such a lovely pic!

Had a bit of an oddball day here. did my first group demo and it was really good, lots of interest, all that weren't already using cloth took my card and one promise to call me after Christmas to put in an order. I have her email as well, so I can chase it up.

Landed oddly stepping off the back of the sofa where I had been fising the curtain rail as the curtains wouldn't open this morning and wrenched something in my dodgy pelvic region so have been dose up on painkillers all day....then bumble had got onto the windowsill via the back of the sofa and fell off backwards, hitting his head on the (sharp) corner of the trunk that the Christmas tree is on. He had a gouge about 2in long behind his ear and a fecking great egg. Was pondering whether to get him looked at but as he seemd fine, and more importantly the thought of taking all three of them to A&E (DH down south and didn't get back till after 7.30pm) out me off. Will check he is rousable before I go to bed, but he seems fine. It certainly didn't deter him from repeatedly trying to climb onto the windowsill afterwards.

sorry, bit me me me, but that really put a dampener on my day, and I have been watching soppy, sentimental TV and really missing my mum who died at the beginning of January two years ago. Didn't feel as badly affected last year, but then I had a teeny baby to worry about.

Octo, did I pay you?????

thebluefoxategreensocks · 15/12/2009 22:58

oh i see, LOL! How funny!... But I have a new idea this time, wee A-line pinafore dress with big buttons on shoulder. Can be worn as a dress at first, but is roomy enough to wear as a tunic/smock top with leggings as the little girl gets bigger, so you get good value for money! Sleeveless for summer or long-sleeved tops under for winter, etc. But we'll see if sewing machine ever gets put to work! I have 2 of them made up from several months ago, but been too busy to make more!

Octohohohoho · 15/12/2009 23:00

Could you imagine if I started talking dirty (nappies) to dh - what a turn off lol!!!! heee heee - he would probably leave home!

Octohohohoho · 15/12/2009 23:01

Daisy - no! Did you get my paypal address?

swampster · 15/12/2009 23:03

How about pockets with Coolmax inners? Not tried them but heard good things. Coolmax is a sporty, cool, stay dry fabric. Neppula nappies have Coolmax inners, as do Tirsokas but I hear Neppulas are a lot nicer. Or if you fancy fitteds, Jabula does Hahtuvahullu fitteds and pockets which are Coolmax lined.

swampster · 15/12/2009 23:04

That was to rachel, of course. Thread has moved on since I started waffling.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 15/12/2009 23:26

swampster: We had a Neppula nappy but it was too big/saggy on the legs on Benjamin - so I tried a Tirsokas but it ended up being rather too tight on the legs! Strange to have 2 opposite problems with similar Finnish nappies! LOL At the moment I'm perfectly happy with GreenKids! LOL For Clement anyway during the day, and BG v3s for night on him. I think Benjamin is just getting a bit too big for nappies, as none of them (apart from Fuzzis) seem to have any room for growing! He'll be 3 in March tho and is a big boy - people always think he's Abigail's twin (and she's 4).

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 15/12/2009 23:37

just checked Octo and it was completed yesterday according to my PP?

swampster · 15/12/2009 23:40

Right now I'm just feeling the Itti love. They are working really well and are, quite simply, the cutest nappies of all.

I used to think of my (DS3's!) small brown one as his little posing pouch - I always had it packed to change him in to when out and about so the world and his dog could see just how lovely cloth can be. But I always expected leaks and often got them

Not getting any leaks with mediums or larges now.

Octohohohoho · 15/12/2009 23:42

duh yes! I looked up daisy lol !!!

Sleep needed - catch up soon. Busy time ahead - my last nappy demo tomorrow morning, then ernie finishes nursery tomorrow lunchtime for christmas, christmas girls full glam night out tomorrow, then a christmas party on thursday daytime, then its my birthday on friday and the boys finish for christmas, then out staurday night too, then to devon, then home, then christmas .... and breathe ...

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 15/12/2009 23:54

you can buy suedecloth from american or australian sites, but I can't find any from the UK.....this Babyworld thread might help; haven't read all of it.

must to bed as I can'rt see straight to read the screen.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 16/12/2009 00:18

daisy: thanks for that. Here is Pocket Bots with suedecloth, which is very similar to the stuff in BGswww.pocketbots.co.uk/suedecloth_fabric.htm but the Nappydashery place was 1.75 cheaper per metre, plus 1.50 less on postage, so thought I'd try theirs to save a few pounds. Not arrived yet, but hoping it will be the same as PocketBots!

kmummy · 16/12/2009 11:15

Just had a massive xmas dinner food delivery from Tesco Yum, can hardly fit in freezer.

Am cheating a bit this year and buying Tesco finest frozen veg, desserts etc as family is coming to me and there's just so much to do! Hoping they will think I made it all myself Have got choice of nut roast and quorn fillets instead of turkey as we are all vegetarian!

Aw I don't feel so lazy now But I don't want to spend all morning in the kitchen and miss out on all the fun! We have pecan and toffee roulade and strawberry Eton mess for dessert, I can't stand xmas pudding. Still got plenty of wrapping to do though.

myjob: still haven't found the energy to get my sewing stuff out yet, but I've been thinking about it again today! How old is your little girl? The two dresses I already made were supposed to be a size 4, but I would think they're more like a 2-4 years - say a dress for a 2yo and then by the time they're 4, would be a rather short dress or tunic/top for wearing with trousers or leggings. Been meaning to try them on Abigail for photos, to see what people think about the style, etc. But ran out of time this afternoon.
