Sorry just seen u prefer aplix for DH & granny!

SkimbleMcSkimble · 23/08/2009 10:22

Hi Clare,

Shame about the coolababy, mine are great and work fine, maybe you could try boosting a bit more to see if that helps.

you say they were cheap, where did you get yours from and how much were they??

I have been on Jabula a couple of times, havent used yet, have read some posts on other sites where people have and its seems to get mixed reviews, everytime I look its all out of stock.

DH is taking me shopping now time to melt his card in the shops

SkimbleMcSkimble · 23/08/2009 10:28

mumface - I love my ittis, they are just so lush, and relativley cheap, I have nearly completed my rainbow, been getting them from www.babybots.co.uk as they are only 11.59, just waiting for their next delivery as I have preordered a yummy chocolate one.

Right he's moaning at me now to get a move on, will try and get on later!!

Skimble - I should be selling some brand new coolababys in a couple of weeks if you are not in a rush for them? Just arranging with a wholesaler now . Will be around £5 each. I think the only other UK seller sells them for £5.50 plus post

SkimbleMcSkimble · 23/08/2009 10:51

Jenny - will that be £5 including postage ?

SkimbleMcSkimble · 23/08/2009 10:55

Having to wait to go shopping now, LO has fallen asleep, and he doesnt sleep much during the day. I really dont want a grumpy little man on my hands while out shopping its bad enough with the big one!!

clare888 · 23/08/2009 11:55

Thanks. Yep, I'd prefer poppers myself. Well, maybe I'll get some blueberry poppers and get some more BGs, they work well for us.
£11.59 is good for ittis. Jabula have them 2 for £11.99 each but that includes a free minibooster, but not sure if I need that at the mo. Hmmmm....
I did try boosting the coolababys with the 2 inserts that came with it, but maybe I could try mroe... don't think my son will be able to walk though, lol. I got them off ebay, can't remember how much but it only worked out about 4-5 pounds each with postage. What is your shop Jenny?
thanks

mumface · 23/08/2009 11:59

skimble I got my Coolababies from Babybots.£5.50 plus £1.75 p&p

twoclimbingboys · 23/08/2009 12:48

I had to sell my itts but kept the mini boosters - they are so handy for in pockets etc. That sounds like a good deal.

BaronConker · 23/08/2009 13:19

skimble - my DH did something similar last weekend with our garden gate. It swells up when it's wet and is really hard to open, particularly if you're holding a baby on one hip and trying to shepherd two other boys out to school and pre-school with loads of bags! So he decided to tear it apart. Apparently he expected this to solve the problem. Obviously it didn't so now we can't use it at all, and I have to get all the kids out the front door, by pushing a pushchair all the way through the house, down a really narrow hallway, and then down a precariously high step. Grr. He also left his saw and loads of huge, sharp splinters of wood lying around the garden so I couldn't let the baby play out there until he got round to clearing them up, which took days!!

newspaperdelivery · 23/08/2009 14:58

Hi all!

Looking forward to hearing about your woolies Jenny, was looking for some wool online last night to get knitted up, but it's just sooooo expensive isn't it?

Hatts was in a dispo last night as both fleece and both woolies were wet, poo stained or wee smelling. Yuk!

Octothechildherder · 23/08/2009 15:09

Hi Clare - welcome!
Watching the coolababy thing with interest.
My ittis are under £12 if you use the discount code and its free postage til end of month.

John worf has returned the medium bumpy wool cover if anyone wants to borrow it - you are welcome.

I have a terrible hangover - had a wine fest til 3am with the neighbours! dh has just taken the kids to morrisons - all of them !! Brave man We are having a street BBQ at 5pm so need to get a bit organised.

newspaperdelivery · 23/08/2009 15:13

Oo yes - welcome Clare!

Hi octo, street bbq sounds fab!

Octothechildherder · 23/08/2009 15:52

Tree - have small yellow bag coming with owls on

newspaperdelivery · 23/08/2009 16:11

OOOOOOOOOOOo. So I could get that, a white flowery medium and a sparrows large.

If I order the med/large today, would they come for Thursday? We are at a festival, complete with washables!!

SkimbleMcSkimble · 23/08/2009 16:31

Back from shopping, never managed to get much apart from a pair of jeans and some stuff for ds3 in the big new primark, which although nice is still not as nice as the oxford street one.

Mumface - I got mine from there as well, the lady that runs it is really helpful and friendly (not that i'm saying others aren't), infact get all mine from there now, apart from a couple of BG's that I got from stratford.

Octo - Street BBQ sounds like fun, we had one a few years ago but most of the people round here dont get on with each other so not exactly much fun.

Right off to sort kids out some munchies to keep them quiet

Octothechildherder · 23/08/2009 16:40

I went to the new primark the other day - you need hours in there! It was tuesday so quite quiet but just totally mind boggling! I got some skinny jeans and a coat.

Tree - yes can post first class tomorrow if you need for thurs.

We live in a cul de sac so is quite easy to do street stuff - its just getting people out of their houses which is the tricky bit!

SkimbleMcSkimble · 23/08/2009 16:49

Octo - were they the £8 skinnys situated near the lifts ? cracking price

I'm in a cul de sac as well which I think is part of the problem, parking is a nightmare as it has a green and therefore a lot of us cant have drives so there is always arguing over parking and kids kicking balls in gardens/ at cars etc.

I could have spent hours in Primark but DH was moping around looking shifty like a shoplifter, I think he does it on purpose to get the guards following us, which is embarrasing so I feel we have to leave.

I take it they dont mind you self promoting on this site, I am thinking about starting a business to help small business' and may do a spot of promo on here, not nappy related so will need to find a board to do it on, just in the thinking about setting up stage at the moment. Jenny gave me the inspiration to do something when she mentioned setting up her site!!

clare888 · 23/08/2009 17:03

Ooh, have heard about the new Primark - is that the one in Bristol? I'm in Glos, so not too far. I've heard that they have some great stuff in there (have never been in one before
Well, went and got my ittis from Jabula, they seemed to have loads of stuff in stock so maybe they have just got more in now? Certainly the widest selection of itti colours I've seen actually in stock. Have got choc, midnight and blue. Yummy. I can't wait.
I also bought a Holden's Landing night nappy. eek. It wasn't cheap, but I've heard they are brill
Well, it will make my collection look a bit better - is mainly Bumgeniuses and motherease at the mo!
Clare

newspaperdelivery · 23/08/2009 20:23

Nearest primark 60 miles

They say it's better to have loved and lost, but when it comes from loosing a big city to a shabby town in middle of nowhere I'm less certain.

Off to purchase Octo. At long last!
Thank you for the post info, I do understand if you can't process it or can't get it posted off.

SkimbleMcSkimble · 23/08/2009 20:38

Clare - the new primark is fab, but doesnt seem anywhere near as big or as glossy as the oxford street one.

DH has just shocked me, like Barons DH he normally leaves stuff lying around when he does stuff, which he has,so that is not surprising, but I have just had a bath after getting DS3 down and DD1 and DS1 are both out staying at friends tonight. Well I came downstairs and he was ironing and cooking and had tidied up the living room (still left his crap upstairs mind). Had to sit down because of the shock!!

Put DS3 in a little lamb bamboo size 2 and a new nature babies essential wrap tonight, first time with this wrap, hope its as good as the bambinex!!

swampster · 23/08/2009 20:42

Hello newbies. I'm having a triffic holiday but miss my fluff

Ittis make the most brilliant swim nappies - DS3 (six months) is using his delicious chocolate small Itti with no inserts or with just the hourglass one if he's going to be sitting on my lap for a bit before a dip. It is reet petite.

Skimble, if you want to self promote it would be a good idea to take out an ad - it's only fair, it's not that expensive and it keeps Mumsnet going.

newspaperdelivery · 23/08/2009 20:46

Skimble - at dh random acts of housework. Bless him.

4andnotout · 23/08/2009 20:47

Evening ladies
have just put a bbos on for sale it's cheap!!

SkimbleMcSkimble · 23/08/2009 20:48

Swampster - Never thought of using an itti as a swim nappy, what a great idea.

Will look at the advertising thing, I agree better to support then just freeload!!
