Fruitbat your weekend sounds perfect - full steam ahead with wedding prep now !!

Meeow well done on expressing (some women struggle to get more than a dribble) and even bigger well done for letting DH feed I - brilliant progress. You made that hairdresser appt yet ...? xx

hippopotamum · 26/08/2009 19:55

Oh and am also and very that today is D-Day for baby Nemo !!!

Meeeow · 27/08/2009 10:44

lol no hairdressers apt yet but that was behind my inclination to try expressing.

I've been busy and now have 10floz in the freezer and 3floz in the fridge ready for DH to feed I again today! Not all of the freezer stock was done today/yesterday I had a go a week ago too. Do you think it will be ok still as it was early days milk? not colostrum though, defo milk?

Nemo how are you? x

Evening ladies. Am still here... however do have some news... Had a mw app this aft and decided to go for a sweep. Apparently it went "really well" - was bloody uncomfortable, that's all I know! But apparently I'm 3cm dilated! Only had it at about 4.45pm but been pretty uncomfortable since so part of me thinks it's all going to kick off tonight, but part of me doesn't want to get my hopes up just in case. Predictions please ladies?!?
Ah well, 3cm down, 7 to go! Bled/bleeding quite a bit which is pretty disconcerting.... Think it's stopping but if not I have to call the hospital. MW said she touched the top of the baby's head which seems NUTS!

Meeow I remember you bled after your first sweep, can you tell me how heavy it was and how long it lasted? Red blood?

Wish me luck please ladies, together with a quick and pain free labour, a complication free birth and a healthy baby - don't want much do I?!?

Hyena · 27/08/2009 20:07

Nemo I think it sounds very promising. Oddles and noodles of luck to you my love. Let us know if there's any progress.
Meeeow I'm sure that EBM will be fine if it's been in the freezer.
Fruitbatlings So glad you had a good time in Milan. LOL at your mother. She's great!! How many weeks until the wedding?

Nemo I bled a lot! lots of really red thick blood and it lasted for 3 days trailing off over that time to a lighter and brown discharge. My advice is to get up and go out for a mammoth walk now! Don't relax and have a bath, make the most of the mild contractions that the sweep will have brought on and walk them in to some proper strong contractions. I regret not doing this after my first sweep but that is exactly what I did with the 2nd sweep, I would not let those period niggles stop like they did the 1st time, I walked for 2 hours and bingo baby within 24 hours!! Go walking girl; and good luck xxx

Fruitbatlings · 27/08/2009 21:22

Nemo I cannot get my head around the fact that you've passed you due date still, I still can't believe that even Impala and Hippopotamum have had babies - or even me, to be honest. It seems like yesterday we were all desperately ttc, can any of you believe how far we've come?
Tigger I haven't forgotten you either, I'm always mentally cheering you on , this is going to sound really patronising but you are amazing xx

I've started J on this BLW malarky. Seems to be going well so far. He's had toast, cucumber, baked beans, those organics carrot crisp thingies, and apple, oh and a strawberry. He's really enjoying it. I was going to wait until he was 6 months but he just seems really interested so thought I'd give it a whirl. Beats pureeing/jar food, that's for sure - and baby rice, wtf is that stuff? I gave C that wallpaper paste at 11 weeks so I've done well to last until 5 months!

I've been thinking of wedding songs all day. So far I have: (spoiler alert for Meeeow!)

Boat song: Love Boat as a bit of a joke

Aisle song: Sea of Love

Leaving alter: All you need is love

First dance: Andy Williams

Still in progress but I think we've almost cracked it. It's bloody hard work trying to think of songs we both like!

Nemo Huge luck! I hope this is it for you

hippopotamum · 27/08/2009 22:06

Just a quickie - OMG Nemo how exciting. I hope you are out walking, if not in full blown labour already !! You are soooo lucky to be 3cm dilated wihtout even realising - I remember reading that can happen and desperately hoping that would happen to me ! Wishing you all the luck in the world - will be waiting for news....

CaptainNemo · 27/08/2009 22:12

Walk? Now? Really?!? But it's dark.... And it's bed time... one of the problems of having a sweep late in the day I guess. Am toring with the idea of going for a tramp round the village in a minute, but DH has gone to bed already and really not sure I fancy it! Oh well, will be my own fault when nothing happens!

CaptainNemo · 27/08/2009 22:13

Toring?? What's toring? Toying

PenguinPoo · 28/08/2009 08:55

Just a quickie to say "come on Nemo" really hope things progressed for you last night and as I said by text wishing you a speedy pain free labour
Will try and catch up with everyone else over the weekend

Meeeow · 28/08/2009 09:28

Come on Nemo did you have that walk? Are you still with us? Remember the effect of the sweep can start labour anytime within 72 hours so don't feel crappy if last night wasn't the night x

Fruitbatlings · 28/08/2009 10:44

We have a birth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HUGE Congratulaions to Nemo

Very about birth so close to due date and short labour!

Wow Nemo great news that baby nemo has arrived safely Do we know the name yet?
Fruity, ds2 seems to be enjoying his solids, can't believe he's ready for that already. Almost makes me sad that my little man will be ready for that soon....
He's 7wks tomorrow, already
I put some more photos on FB this week, he's 'filled out' as everyone keeps saying, little piglet likes his formula that's for sure
How are you feeling Hyena? You're moving up the list now
Well done for expressing Meeeow, that's great Nice for the dh's to be involved so early too, and it gives you a break. That's what I'm really enjoying about ds being bottle fed this time, I'm getting a rest, now and then, having 3 of the little buggers darlings to run around after That and being able to drink the odd nightly glass of wine!
