So nice to 'see' everyone - hurrah was starting to think you had all escaped The Zoo.

Need to be quick as usual! N has been really poorly this week - v/high temp which resulted in our first NHS direct call. Calpol is a marvellous thing. The house also stinks of Olbas Oil. Think he's on the way up now though.

Impala So glad that nothing serious for DH. Must have been a horrible shock. W/e sounds lovely if a little hectic. Can't believe E is 1 already, how it's flown by. I am also out with NCT girls tomorrow night - it's my first night out without DP since N born, can't wait to put my high heels on.

Nemo PMSL (literally as pelvic floor not what it was) at your conversation with doctor. Sounds like you are doing really well with T but having your evenings back is a truly wonderful thing ...good luck. The guilt is a funny thing isn't it. Don't worry about us - we're not going anywhere. Unfortunately with being a good mum and DW/P and good daughter/friend etc etc - we come last too often I think.

Hyena Will now be checking in regularly for news - DP is armed with relevant numbers isn't he and I don't mean the hospital, I mean The Zoo.

Penguin How are you feeling now? Get OUT of the childbirth section of MN.

Hello to everyone else - I really MUST get out of bed as another busy day ahead.

aaaaah- Halloween smileys go tomorrow - booo

[hhhmm]

hippopotamum · 30/10/2009 09:43

Morning animals !

Great to see so many of you in here , but where is our hyena.... is she at the vet...?!! Am so excited about new arrival !

Penguin def worth trying the hypno CD as it helped calm me down loads. DO NOT panic about labour as there is nothing you can do about it now ! Plus, you may get the calm and painfree option of a csection ! I know this is not ideal but I can assure you that it is a whole lot easier than that labour nonsense - I only had contractions for 2 hours and was mightily relieved when they told me I had to have a section (despite spending the entire PG desperate for a 'natural' birth !!!) Fingers crossed the placenta stays put and they just lift your baby out - EASY ! Apologies if I sound a bit flippant but I am sure all will be well in the end - hugs xx

Nemo Lovely to hear from you, sounds like all is going very well and T is an absolute star . good luck on your own - you will cope fabulously and we are here if you need us xx

must dash as E asleep and have already wasted most of my time surfing for birthday cakes etc... Must go and get his Superman outfit ready for his Halloween party later I am so excited it is ridiculous !! Pics of superman will be on FB later

PenguinPoo · 30/10/2009 10:05

Giraffe So what time did DP roll in? Hope you have made him suffer? Would love to try the hypnobirthing CD if you can find it, thanks very much. I have now banned myself from looking at anything else on MN, thankfully no bad dreams last night! Just 4 trips to the loo Having another day off work today, pain seems to have changed to left hip today so taking it easy, although I am desperate to clean my house, it's gross as DH as been doing it for the last couple of months and just gives it a lick and promise, Hyena very selfishly won't come and do it either Hope N feels better soon x
Hyena Did you give in and get a sweep?
Nemo Hello lovely lady, you did make me with your conversation to the GP, then I sat there with fingers in my ears going "la la la" I think the argument for a c/section sounds good so far Although I liked the birth plan, even I can remember that! Very impressed with T's routine that's brilliant, I'm sure you will be fine tonight just remember to mark on the calendar that DH had a night out so you can collect later
Impala Glad to hear DH is fine, lets hope these tests come back clear and it was just one of those scary things. Have a fabulous time on Sunday and I'll look forward to seeing the pics on FB.
Hippo Perhaps you could do a stay where you are dance for my placenta

Mornink all,
I am still here and still pregnant (prob for another two weeks!). No signs of labour - noticed a thread where someone mentioned checking their cervix and wanted to know how...then changed my mind. Actually can't think of anything worse. DP is suggesting he do his part but only because he wants his paternity leave to start on Monday rather than having to mark all weekend.....
Hippo Cannot wait to see piccies later. How exciting. Enjoy x
Giraffe Sorry to hear you've had a poorly boy. Glad he's on the mend. I'll hopefully be up for sending some announcement texts myself after delivery. What time did the Mr come home?
Impala So pleased all is well with your DH. Have a fantastic weekend.
Nemo Yey - it's lovely to have you here. WTF at GP. You'll be fine. It's hard to remember those pelvic floor exercises but don't worry too much....God, she sounds almost as mental as my GP. FWIW I had a period about 4 weeks after L was born despite exclusively breastfeeding. Hopefully TEW will leave you alone for a while to come.
Penguin Hope you've stopped worrying now.

Seeing MW at some point later. I've got a feeling she won't agree to a sweep (and I'm not desperate to get the baby out) but we shall see. I'll let you know if anything kicks off x

Hyena · 30/10/2009 10:12

X-posts Penguin. [waves]

Hyena · 30/10/2009 12:55

ARGH seeing MW at 1.30. Am feeling a bit weird now and nervous. Don't know why. Just tried to do a urine sample and managed to get wee everywhere except in the bottle due to bump .
I'm still torn between asking for a sweep and not asking for one. I don't really want any intervention but it'd be nice to have a tiny bit of hope of going into labour before 42 weeks. EEK

Fruitbatlings · 30/10/2009 13:40

Were none of you still bleeding at 6 weeks then? What's all this talk of spotting and periods starting? I was still bleeding from the birth at that point which, I've heard is normal?
Mind you, who am I to talk, I still haven't had my first period yet and J is 7 months old!

Hyena go ahead, bite the bullet and ask, might as well as she's there

Penguin at your DH doing the cleaning, even if it is just a lick. Oh I hope you have your little bundle a little early so your pain stops! (it will stop after birth wont it?) - it must be putting a real dampener on your pregnancy

Hippo Looking forward to Superman pics! Is he going to be a scary Superman? I think J is going to be a spider and C will be a devil - we're going to the local soft play centre this eve for a halloween party - should be fun

Giraffe poor N My house also stank of Olbas oil for about 2 weeks. Not too unpleasant though - I agree, Calpol is a godsend!

Impala I'm really looking forward to seeing E's naming day pics! We did this for C. Haven't bothered for J - precious 1st born an' all
I hope you all have a lovely day, are you having it at home? I can't believe E is almost one - she can't be! Glad DH is ok.

Gonna go and eat/drink my soup before it gets cold - got three sleeping babies

Hyena · 30/10/2009 19:25

Eventful day. Saw MW and had protein in urine and high blood pressure. She was worried my waters may have gone (apparently protein can be a sign of this) and wanted me to go to hospital for a check up. Went to the MLU. Had a trace - baby happy and had a few contractions but nothing unusual from last few weeks. They've sent off some samples to the lab and did an interal - membranes still there. Cervix is open but still not effaced.
Best part of it is - saw the MW at clinic and she recorded me as 3/5ths engaged and measuring 37cm. Saw different MW at hospital half hour later and she recorded me as baby not engaged and at 40cm....it's all fun and games. Maybe I'm actually 10cm .

havingagiraffe · 30/10/2009 20:45

Oooh Blimey Hyena exciting day - bet you won't be long now. Bet you're knackered with all that dickering around.

Love love love the image of you at the vets - thanks Hippo really made me - can't wait to see the photos of Superman.

PandaEis · 30/10/2009 22:06

hi ladies
sorry for the absence (i seem to say that alot lately) not much going on here AF was due yesterday and no sign... not getting my hopes up though as i usually do and then i am disappointed again... who knows... maybe i will bite the bullet and just friggin buy the clomid ready for next cycle... what do you guys think?? nah with the money drought at chez panda of late i think DH would notice £200 missing out of the bank...i could always investigate black market fertility drugs........
hyena ooooooooooo!!! your little boy will be here very soon!!!

xx ei xx

PenguinPoo · 31/10/2009 17:14

Hyena Has my morning text not worked yet then?
Panda £200?? It's crazy that most of us can get it for nothing. Not quite the black market but check out this or this one
Might be worth a shot, especially if you could catch after one months supply??

havingagiraffe · 01/11/2009 10:15

Any news from Hyena yet - a halloween baby perhaps?

Went out for the first time without DP and/or N last night with the NCT ladies. It was lovely for us all to be able to chat without at least one of us jiggling a baby or rocking a pushchair or dealing with a hungry baby. Bliss!

It is horrible here today - wet and grey and cold so we are all stuck in. Luckily N has gone off for his nap after only a few rocks in the pushchair - Hurrah! Time for a coffee.

Hyena · 01/11/2009 10:52

Still here . Very busy day on Saturday - birthday party, dancing lessons, pumpkin carving, trick or treating and then to a firework display. Slept really well last night. DP is back at work tomorrow and DD back at school on Tues.
Giraffe Yey for mummy time. Do you have a sore head today?
Penguin I think you need to be more forceful than a text .
Panda Wait and see if AF arrives before making any plans. Will keep everything crossed that she doesn't.

Hello to everyone else. Hope you're enjoying this lovely, wet weather. I'm not planning on going very far - except maybe out for some lunch.

Fruitbatlings · 01/11/2009 15:07

bleughhhhhhhhh......

Will be able to talk some sense tomorrow

Hyena · 01/11/2009 18:05

Fruit Hahaha - don't envy you. Feel better soon.

havingagiraffe · 02/11/2009 07:39

tut tut Fruit Did you have to be drunk to stomach John and Edward or were you actually out partying?

Hyena · 02/11/2009 09:36

Still here and still smiling .

PenguinPoo · 02/11/2009 11:00

Hyena Good girl reporting daily

havingagiraffe · 02/11/2009 11:00

Oh come on Hyena cub GET OUT! You are now officially late and that just won't do!

Supposed to be hoovering here in the Giraffe house but hoover has been left in attic room and I can't carry it down the spiral stairs - Oh dear what a shame!

Off to swimming in a bit.

havingagiraffe · 02/11/2009 11:05

Ooooh hello Penguin x-posts which hardly ever happens in here these days! How are you?

PenguinPoo · 02/11/2009 11:17

giraffe Morning, love the excuse! I actually had my first bit of nesting yesterday, I felt I HAD to sort out stuff in the nursery building site, so unpacked stuff, put away in drawers and put stuff ready to wash. Had a good sort out for an hour, then stared despondantly at the breeze block walls and lay down for a bit To be honest I was in agony but it was worth it, felt much better afterwards. Back at work today, but have an early finish as I have my anti-d this afternoon, ouch!
Might pin a mw against the wall to see if I can get in on some ante-natal classes

Meeeow · 02/11/2009 13:31
