New thread as the other was running out!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Glad I'm not on my own about not getting K weighed on regular basis. I think mine is because she was weighed so much being a premmie. Now that she's older I don't bother unless it's a hospital visit and she has to be weighed. I can't stand the chin scratching afterwards as she's a petite child. No concerns here and she eats well but obviously she isn't fat enough for their liking!

Anyway, we don't have to go to clinic for anything now that she's had her MMR that's pretty much it until she's 3. Hurrah!

4andnotout · 09/07/2009 08:58

My dd2 is 4 yet only now starting to wear age 3-4 clothes, dd's 2,3&4 are all going to be petite, dd1 is really tall but her bio dad was 6'3.

I have ordered my yellow itti so now have the completed collection in medium and large, dd3 had better not potty train for a few months now

My DS2 is petite compared to his brothers - I didn't really notice until his 8 month check when he was well below the 25th centile (having started out on 50th) and HV was all sniffy about the fact that I was still breastfeeding. He really doesn't eat much and is very slim (he's on 9th centile now), and I worried about it for a while but now I just try my hardest to offer him lots of snacks and to encourage him to be enthusiastic about food by letting him help me cook, doing carpet picnics etc. All my family make jokes about how he looks like a famine victim when he's got no clothes on - he's 3 and a half now - and I get so cross! I think he's perfect, he's just different to my side of the family, we're all Scottish and sturdy-looking (which is what my other two sons are like), but DS2 is like my husband's side who are all boney! DH's family never comment on his weight, he looks quite normal to them, and they're amazed by DS1 and 3's chunky muscles and huge appetites!!!

baronconker you know that those weight charts are made for formula fed babies don't you? There is another (although if you find it, well done!) for BF babies. It is widely recognised that BF babies are not as heavy as their formula fed counterparts. You need to remind your HV of this - who should know better.

K started on 25th centile and has slid to between 25th and 9th but I'm really not bothered. She troughs her food but is more active now so I put it down to that.

My Itti Bitti came today and I'm thrilled. However, I ordered the medium and for some reason I thought it'd be bigger. I do hope it fits her. Off to check weights on itti bitti website

JennyPenny22 · 09/07/2009 17:07

john - itti bittis do come up small. Talia is in mediums and she is only 10 weeks.

As for swaps I have fitteds, BG pockets, loads of different inserts, bit of everything really. Are you looking for anything in particular?

treedelivery · 09/07/2009 18:27

Hi all

Hope I'm not forgotten, and hello to all those I don't know.

Octo - the pop'n'gro is going well. I love how soft it is. DD2 is quite small though, 9th centile and 6 months today so only 13 ish lbs, and I find it is loose on the legs and bulky due to the type of filling iyswim? That said - I think she will suit it beter as she grows. Am loving that big fluffy insert, soooo soft on a sore bot.

Huge congratulations Natty!

swampster · 09/07/2009 18:57

Who was that just then?

swampster · 09/07/2009 18:57

Have solved Connors wet back/dry nappy problem. His willy pointing up! Wee was going straight up out back of nappy, He's my third boy can't believe I didn't realise.

Got a BBH minkee magic all AIO today in liqorice. It looks dark grey in picture but surprised to find it's jet black but I love it.Never had a black nappy though worried about washing it. I'll let you know if it's as good as the itti's, definately as pretty.

drlove8 · 09/07/2009 21:35

does anyone know whats happened to the berryplush nappies? i cant buy any anywhere and its driving me nuts.... was so wanting a fushia and a red one, had to order some blueberry's instead, but berryplush are a better fit on my dd4 and im so .... anyone selling any in large?

twoclimbingboys · 09/07/2009 21:39

i think I occasionally see pre-loved berryplush for sale on clothnappytree - you could post a wanted there?

johnworf · 09/07/2009 22:02

Thanks for the info jenny. Glad I only bought 1 to try. Weird really as I read the size guide and she's well within the weight range stated. She's wearing it for bed tonight so I'll see how it's gone on in the morning

Anyone know anything about the Nature Babies multifit wrap or Imse Vimse wool bumpy? General performance, how they wash etc.

ta.

Octothechildherder · 09/07/2009 22:05

Bumpy wool wraps are great - have a medium here you can borrow to try out if you like - nature babies have never really impressed me that much tbh.

johnworf · 09/07/2009 22:22

thanks octo That's a very kind offer. Are you ok to spare it?

Are bumpy's easy to look after or do they need lanolising for time to time? Not sure on the care instructions of these wraps at all! Also, are they ok for daytime use? I've read that wool wraps can start wicking if they're worn in the daytime?

I've had the nature babies PUL wraps which were ok I guess. One of the first wraps I tried. Never bought the 2nd size though. I have 3 (maybe 4) in the first size if anyone wants them for free. Can't be bothered putting them on usednappies.co.uk

octo let me know if you want my email addy

drlove8 · 09/07/2009 22:30

twoclimbing , have just been there it only small sizes that are up for sale .... bummer as theres some in fushia.... and that is so dd4's colour . boo hoo !

twoclimbingboys · 09/07/2009 23:14

what a pain drlove8!

johnworf - i think ittis are tiny sizing. Blake is 13 months (although he is 26lbs and over the 98th centile for length) I had to sell all of his large ittis a while back as they gave him awful builder's bum and he had very regular poop leaks out of the leg in them.

BaronConker · 10/07/2009 07:48

johnworf - ittis are tiny, aren't they? I got my first one a couple of weeks ago and was shocked when I opened it, thought they'd sent me the wrong size! I do love it, but DS3 is 15 months and quite a chunk, so I can't see it fitting him for very long. Should have bought it months ago!

Octothechildherder · 10/07/2009 08:16

Will check whether bumpy is actually here or out in a hire kit - happy for you to borrow it. Busy weekend - will be back soon - my email address is [email protected].

Bumpy is lanolised - no need to do it everytime or wash it either - just leave it to air.

Ittis are tiny - but very cute! I don't sell them at all due to price and sizing. My customers tend to want better value for money and a leg gusset.

johnworf · 10/07/2009 08:52

Many thanks octo. Think you are right about the Itti's. I only bought one just to try. I mean they feel lush on the outside and she wore it last night to bed and it's kept all of the wee in but....like you say, they are a tad on the expensive side. I'm used to the bog standard ME BTP and the Imse Vimse organic terry with a wrap.

Btw I had a look at your website the other day. I was looking for some shorties. Haven't made my mind up to commit yet though!

Scotia · 10/07/2009 09:05

I agree about the sizing of ittis. I've bought larges for ds and he's only 5 months old and less than 18lbs. He does have wee chubby legs though so they're not leaking on him and they should last him a good while. They are gorgeous though - real 'showing off' nappies I've been using them as shorts in this hot weather. I wouldn't be able to use one overnight on ds though.

I'm waiting for a couple of wnos nappies coming, I think I'm turning into a nappy addict, lol!

johnworf · 10/07/2009 09:49

Re the Itti's, I read that they are low rise nappies so I shouldn't really be expecting them to cover her tum like the others I have.

Scotia totally agree they are show off nappies I love my lime green one and did plan to get a nice girly pink one. I think I'll go for the large next time though!

drlove8 · 10/07/2009 12:19

fluffy post today! dd4's birthday in a few weeks - so i treated her to some new bbss! spotty ones! pink and lilac and a chocolate and lime!.... i think she must be the oldest dc in cloth! she will be 4! (she's sn though , so can be excused lol)

drlove8 · 10/07/2009 12:21

also got a motherease swim nappy in red! it looks tiny! - but should fit as there is no padding to it. am i right in thinking its just really a poo catcher?
