SOB!! Am distraught. Just got back from school run to find fluffy post parcel sitting on doorstep. Was v excited as knew it was going to be my strawberry fields itti, and had an insert all washed and ready so could use it straightaway. Opened it and they sent me pretty in pink by mistake! It's lovely and all, but it's not really DS3's colour! Lady on the phone said take out insert so can get on with washing it, and she'll send the right nappy without an insert and a prepaid envelope for return, but that will take days! Boo hoo.

abermum · 25/06/2009 10:06

rusmum- will cat later when me and dh have 'discussed'

jenny- do you still have the shaped terries- sounds like they would be what i am looking for maybe, are they sized?

mumface · 25/06/2009 11:26

Tree I am bottlefeeding connor his poos are not runny at all so Itti seems to be ok.
Have received a bimble to try.My small wraps look masive though (airflow looks like it might rub cord aswell)will try with blueberry minki wrap that looks smallest.
Should go for nap whilst baby sleeping but don't want to miss postman coming for other Itti's!

Hi,
Looking for advice from experienced cloth users. First time (not quite yet)mum.
About to consider investing in reusables nappies. Bit vexed by it all have tried to research! Gut feeling is bamboo and poss elasticated legs as fearfull of leaks! Trying to keep it husband friendly however if flat squares are best solution so be it.
Any thoughts girls?

treedelivery · 25/06/2009 12:21

mumface - thats good then. Glad they are working out for you.

Strawberry fields itti has landed - hurrah!! It's not the same very strokable plush as the plain is it, nor the same deep red? But grand all the same. Think it will be too big for a while yet though.

Also got the pop n gro - Octo thank you!! What do I have to do as my part of the bargain? Inserts seem very plush and soft and lovely.

Agree sun is a miracle on stains.

rusmum · 25/06/2009 12:58

dont invest in a huge stash just yet- get a couple of what you fancy to try!

Bamboo sandys very good and easy for DH!

rusmum · 25/06/2009 12:59

pop and grow??????

Octothechildherder · 25/06/2009 14:13

Tree - would just like your feedback as to how you get on!

Pop n Gro is an all in one with two additional boosters, recommended from 3 months. They do need about 4 washes to get them up to the right absorbency. They are made by Lollipop - they cost £14.95 each - CAT me if interested as I have some in stock - or click on the teamlollipop link in classified.

JennyPenny22 · 25/06/2009 18:47

I still have the shaped terrys. They are quite basic nappies but I loved them for Elouise as they are very thin so didn't give her a big cloth bum. I planned to use them again for Talia as they are still in good condition but she just wees so much that she soaks them quite quickly - but Talia does this to most nappies TBH . So I guess it depends on your baby. They are also bigger than the XS sandys.

TheNatty · 25/06/2009 19:36

the pop and gro looks very interesting to me, do let us know how you get on with it tree, they look like BG's only the inserts are good

rusmum · 25/06/2009 20:45

i used to double up my shaped terries!!

Popper wraps which are good please??

Just got a nature babies one- seems ok so far!!

twoclimbingboys · 25/06/2009 21:23

legscrossed - sandys (I agree with you suggesting bamboo - they are far better than cotton imo) are supposed to be excellent on newbies with a Motherease airfow wrap. Wee Notions and Upsy Daisy do lovely nappies too. I think Jenny on here is selling some small bamboo nappies?

rusmum - UD do side snap wraps and Wee Notions are too.

fruitstick · 25/06/2009 21:47

Hello - thought I'd pop on here instead of starting a new thread as I'm sure it's been covered hundreds of times before.

I have bamboozles which I used for DS1 and now using for DS2. They don't seem nearly so absorbent as they were for DS1 (and nowhere near as fluffy). DS2 frequently wakes up soaked to the sleeping bag in the night and often leaks during the day.

Is he just a heavier wetter or have they lost their oomph. I've washed them with no washing powder and some white vinegar but it hasn't seemed to make a difference.

I line dry them.

rusmum · 25/06/2009 21:55

just use something else at night (bumbles or baby beehinds), prob heavier wetter!!

treedelivery · 25/06/2009 22:01

Pop-in currently in it's 1st wash - awaiting it's liberation fromthe pre washes then I#ll let you all know!

Hello all

JennyPenny22 · 26/06/2009 00:19

fruitstick - I am having exactly the same problem with mine. How old is your DS? My DD2 is 8 weeks and just pees through everything. We now use either WeeNotions Night Notions at night or BabyBeehinds onesize bamboo. In the day we still use our bamboozles/lollipop bamboo and some others but just change more often. I never had this problem with DD1. When DD1 was this age I had never even heard of bamboo etc so all my nappies were basic cotton ones but were more than enough absorbancy wise. I think DD2 is just a heavy wetter. But apparently at around 10 weeks their bladders mature and will produce less urine (or something more detailed than that but I am tired!).

BaronConker · 26/06/2009 08:09

fruitstick - i reckon Jenny is probably right and it's a tiny baby thing - I suppose if their entire diet is liquid it's going to lead to a lot of wee! having said that i reckon nappies do lose a lot of fluff to the washing machine over time. i bought some preloved bamboozles that were practically bald - so when I got some brand new ones I couldn't believe how fluffy they were, they didn't look like they were even related to the bald ones!!

BaronConker · 26/06/2009 09:35

ceb - saw your post asking for nature babies wraps. I have a large one in pink tie dye, i've only used it in emergencies as i have three boys (!) so it's in euc. let me know if you'd like it!I'ts poppered...
Also have a much smaller one that i don't think i've ever used - it doesn't have a size on it but it has lots and lots of poppers so you can adjust the rise for a newborn. it's yellow.

4andnotout · 26/06/2009 11:27

Morning all

Still awaiting fluffy post Why must our postman be so late?

Had my bodyshop party last night so still feeling slightly delicate and dd4's nappies have been rather heave inducing this morning.

Right i only have 1 large buttermilk (creamy yellowish) blueberry wrap and 2 small airflows(plain white & whale print) if anyone wants to make me an offer, then i need to start emptiying my booster box as we dont actually use boosters so i don't know why i have kept 100's

OP posts:
treedelivery · 26/06/2009 11:30

Ooo I might have the buttermilk. Is it applix or side snap?

Fed up so need a spend.

4andnotout · 26/06/2009 11:34

Applix i don't think they do the wraps in side snap do they? Im still considering selling off my bbos stash as we have literally only been using itti's and i have more than enough to use full time, but then if i sell the bbos will i regret it later

Decisions, Decisions

OP posts:
treedelivery · 26/06/2009 11:38

I dunno onthet - I can't bring myself to sell a few xs sandy's so you are probably asking the wrong nappy head!

Of course they are aplix, I should know that

What do they not fit well over?

4andnotout · 26/06/2009 11:41

I only have flexitots as fitted nappies so they fit over them.

OP posts:
treedelivery · 26/06/2009 11:45

Am only asking as we are still with the synthetic fibres, which make for mahooosive bums

I'll take your wrap then, but I have no idea what offer to make so please just say. Am crap at that sort of thing.

rachelinscotland - don't know if I said about Clement. Well, glad he is ok now but it's a shame about the sb's and the follow up. Let us know how you get on.

4andnotout · 26/06/2009 11:52

I sold all the others for £8 each so how about £6?
