Yes I am interested in the Sandys! Would def like the £3.50 Xs ones. What size are the other ones? I then at least have enough for a day or so in them.

Rachel - thats interesting to know about slings. I have a ring sling which I didn't get on with when Elouise was tiny but haven't tried it yet with Talia. I also have a close baby carrier on the way as a present from my sisters. I am having trouble feeding at the moment but once I have got the latch sorted I am hoping to be able to BF in one of them. I definatly will want to use a sling when DH goes back to work and I am childminding again. I don't really know what else I would do!

Camomilla · 30/04/2009 12:57

soon, e-mail me at [email protected]. The rest are size small. got xs wraps too. close carrier is great for the first 4-6 months, plus is great to "teach" you how to wrap if you want to go down that route I've found (could go on talking about slings, but wrong topic thread ... they're addctive too, though the price tags can curb the addiction some times )

soon2befamilyof4 · 30/04/2009 13:19

I will email you now. I would just like the XS ones as I have plenty of S already.

The pockets seem to be working OK actually, which is why I decided not to buy XS sandys and save my money - Till I came on here!!! LOL. You lot are such a bad influence on me! Have used BG and BBOS delux (which are pretty much the same as BG, if not a bit slimmer). They have contained poo etc but just a bit tricky getting it tight enough round Talias skinny legs!

Hi everyone

Im trying to curb my nappy spending as i need to sort out a lightweight double for dd3 & dd4, but it's so hard when there is money in the bank!
Debating if to offload some for the funds I dont need half of them i just wanted them

soon2befamilyof4 · 30/04/2009 15:18

MAJOR FLUFFY POST HERE! I have just got my nappy bundle! I am BF at the mo and can't look through them all - the huge box is sitting in front of me teasing me! I should have about 100 Nappies in there .

DH wasn't over impressed!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 30/04/2009 15:33

oooooh, can't wait to hear what treasures you've got!

twoclimbingboys · 30/04/2009 15:50

i can't wait to hear either!

treedelivery · 30/04/2009 16:04

OMG!! Open the box!!!

Have had a really nice walk out to the shops, which in a run down town doesn't just happen! I found the nursery shop [we don't have any big chains like Mothercare etc] is doing reusables! Yay, only wonderoo's but it's a start!
Didn't purchse as am saving for the patterned itti onslaught.

soon2befamilyof4 · 30/04/2009 16:09

Right, sorting through it now. There is LOADS!

I have a question though. There is a lovely fleece wrap in there which I really like BUT it has a hole in it - like a hole that is meant to be there, it is stiched etc so not liek a hole from damage??? I don't get it? It is sort of on the bum?!

There is going to be far too many to list on here i am afraid! I already have piles everywhere and have hardly dented what is in the box!

soon2befamilyof4 · 30/04/2009 16:11

HAs anybody used fleece on a NB btw? There is a nice size 0 tots bots fleece wrap here. Looks a bit bulkier than my PUL ones but nice and soft etc.

treedelivery · 30/04/2009 16:20

It sounds great!! We demand a list. Baby will have to wait.

soon2befamilyof4 · 30/04/2009 17:07

I am about half way through the box now! lol.

Is anybody looking for any wraps at all? I will probably keep most of the nappies for now, until Talia is in that size/grows out of them but there are absolutly loads of wraps here and we won't be keeping all of them. If anybody is looking for any then let me know and I will see if I have what you are looking for.

Trouble is, I don't know what a lot of these nappies are if they have no tags. And if I do, then I can't always tell the size!

Camomilla · 30/04/2009 17:26

soon, maybe it's a pet wrap

post a pic!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 30/04/2009 17:39

soon: I'm using fleece wrap on a newborn and it's lovely! I've got a size 0 Tots Bots fleece wrap (grey/blue with colourful spots) and Clement has been wearing it at nights over a size 1 cotton Tots and it lasts all night with no wet clothes, even when the nappy is very wet by morning. So I'm very pleased with it! And it's so nice & flexible and soft against baby's skin.

soon2befamilyof4 · 30/04/2009 17:52

Thanks for that rachel. Might use it tonight over sandys. Is it bulky? Talia is only about 7lb at the moment but the pul size 0 tots wrap fits fine.

I hate things with no labels! WHY? You would think the manufacturers would want to make sure they had their name on!

twoclimbingboys · 30/04/2009 17:59

I know mine aren't newbies - both they both wear tots fleece wraps overnight and I love them!

soon2befamilyof4 · 30/04/2009 19:14

Thanks TCB, if they are fine on older babies I am sure they are ok for NB. I am going to use it tonight for def. TBH we have just used what ever we have had in daytime so far. She doesn't seem to wee that much - enough not to be worried but no enough to soak through even the most basic nappy iyswim. Although that could be more to do with the fact we are constantly changing her - she won't stop pooing!

I have from the nappy bundle some purple longies which look like they were very good at one point but they have holes in (and also patches that have already been sewn up). Do you think they would be worth sewing up or do you think they are past it? I can't sew myself so it would mean asking somebody else to do it?

soon2befamilyof4 · 30/04/2009 19:41

Can anybody else not get onto CNT? I could really do with being on there tonight as I have so many questions about all this stuff!

I will tell you a few things that I have just got, but TBH most of them I am not sure what they are yet!

  • Tots bots cotton size 2 - might sell these
  • One tots fluffle - good because I have never tried one!
  • Sandys about 4 small and one or 2 large.
  • Lots of Clwt twt nappies, both bamboo and cotton I think.
  • A ME aio which I probably won't keep.
  • Loads of nappies that are a bit like tots but don't actually know what they are, not all the same though, bit of a mix.
  • lots of nice patterned large shaped nappies.
  • Onelife PTB

There are loads more but most I just don't know what they are! Most are shaped nappies which is a shame as there were hardly any pockets. But I guess that will make me try out more different ones! Also they will all work well under wool which is our goal anyway - to get out of Pul and into Wool.

There are also loads of wraps. Mainly PUL but also some fleece and Wool. I have sorted out some that should be small enough for Talia - the tots fleece, a pink wacky wrap with a sun on bum - pull with fleece outter. The teddy wrap that has the hole in , 2 "bio babies" wraps and a cotton bottoms. I already had plenty of NB wraps but will add them to my collection for now as then we have loads and can sell them all once Talia grows out of them, which I am sure won't be long!

One thing that is a bit annoying is that there are a lot of nipper fastening nappies. Does anybody here get on well with Nippers? TBH the thought of them doesn't really apeal to me at all. BUT I have never actually tried using one! I will have to give it a go on Talia first as she doesn't wriggle like Elouise!

twoclimbingboys · 30/04/2009 20:01

They all sounds great soon - a real bargain. I am getting more fitted nappies too over the next few weeks! I have sold most of my fluffles as I will proabably buy really slim ones.

I like nippa nappies - they are quicker to do up + more adjustable than poppers and stay looking nice wash after wash (unlike aplix). I can't get on cnt either.

Camomilla · 30/04/2009 20:42

can't get on CNT either

I was the same about nippas, but once I tried I actually liked them. they give you the best fit in 2 parters IME

thebluefoxategreensocks · 30/04/2009 20:44

I love nippa nappies for newborns, as it means I can get a much more snug fit with a nippa Tots Bots than I could with an aplix one. But they're not so great for Benjamin, who likes to dig in his nappy at times (often when it's in need of being changed) and I've several times found a partially loose nippa, which looks very ouch! lol But I certainly prefer them for tiny babies.

Can't get on CNT either - it crashed while I was on it earlier (no, nothing I did LOL - just tried to click on another message and the board has been down ever since).

soon: if you managed to get any pics taken of the "unknown nappies", I'm sure between us all (and maybe CNT when it's back) we can identify the nappies for you! Would be a fun game for us to play!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 30/04/2009 20:47

btw, not sure why I put your name at the bottom of the message, as I think all of it was meant for you! My brain is seriously failing at the moment - desperately need some more sleep! Though oddly enough, the sleep problems are not from the 2.5wk old baby, but the 2yo with eczema. Thankfully Clement is brilliant at nights, often only having 1 feed in the night!

soon2befamilyof4 · 30/04/2009 22:15

Rachel - same here! It is DD1 that gets us up, rather than DD2! LOL.

I will do pictures if I need to, but I am awful at doing them and putting them on the PC and it takes forever so would prefer not to iyswim. And I can't find my camera!

Tree - If you are looking for 2 parters, I might well be selling some of these new ones and some others I have as TBH I can't justify keeping them all. If you know what you want, let me know and I will see if I have what you want.

soon2befamilyof4 · 30/04/2009 22:44

Does anybody know an easy way of knowing what fabric a nappy is made of? Some of them are obvious but others I am not sure of.

twoclimbingboys · 01/05/2009 08:22

soon - do you mean tree or me? I am after really slim nappies in large (but not cotton)please, if you have any spare I would be happy to buy some off you.
