TCB - Elouise is fine at night really. I bought the stuffies to try, so that I could keep them as a back up nappy for when I don't have any clean WNNN or UDNN. But when I get my new ones then that shouldn't happen anyway. The stuffie worked well for Elouise last night and I didn't even change her for an hour after she woke up as I was rushed off my feet sorting them both out and it was still half dry! I do think I overstuffed though as she was very bulky but was being on the safe side! They will fit her longer than UD ones though as they are bigger.

But ELouise seems to leak a lot in the day. Both girls have been in BBH today as we were out all day and Elouise leaked after 3 hours, with both boosters in, and she hasn't even drunk much today!

Talia is the other way round though, She is OK during the day as long as I change her often but she cries if her nappy has poo or is too wet anyway so I usually do changer her in time. But at nights she is leaking out everything. I think I am going to use disposables at night with her for now TBH. Just until she can fit into medium night nappies. I do feel bad about it, but she sleeps so much better, we don't get leaks unless she poos, which she doesn't usually do at night (and can catch that with a wrap if needed) and it will only be for a few weeks I would think as she is quite chunky. Although the medium UDNN I have is quite big? I have a medium WNNN on the way so haven't seen that yet. It is lovely though.

Hello ladies,

Wondering if anyone on here can help, I had a question about Close Parent popins - I'm having leakage issues using these on DS2 (large 11 week old) and I saw from another thread back in Dec 08 that Essie3 had been experimenting with cutting bits of the nappy off and other sacrilegious behaviour to help Close Parent improve the nappy.

Does anyone know if any solution was ever found, or what came of it? If there's a way I can stop the leakage I'd really like to know what it might be.

Thanks!

ceb80 · 14/06/2009 17:47

Sorry no help what fresh but just to let you know I've had the same problems with mine, am glad I only bought one! Although I might try again now hes a bit chunkier!

Close Parent have had some leakage problems and have now released the new version which has 4 rows of poppers and better proofing in the leg gusset. It now says on the label not to tumble dry/over heat.

I would contact them rather than resort to scissors! Lots of people have got theirs replaced - although have seen lots of people still selling the old version

Ariela · 14/06/2009 20:14

Jenny Penny: try adding your boosters between nappy and wrap. If you put them inside, or stuff the stuffie too much you end up with the fat sausage effect - all that bulk between the legs makes it like a sausage and pulls it away from the leg at the sides, which in turn can lead to leaks as the quickest way out is down the leg and out. WHereas if you put the padding between nappy and wrap it pushes the nappy closer to the source of wee and allows it to absorb.

Evening all

Have spent the whole weekend at my parents house which has been lovely.

We went to a carboot sale today and i picked up a bargain, 3 medium swaddlebee pockets (white, peach and yellow) plus 5 double swaddlebee inserts all for the grand sum of £2 So have left them at my parents as emergency back ups!

ceb80 · 14/06/2009 20:48

Wow that was a good deal 4! There was a boot sale in our village today, wish I'd gone now!

JennyPenny22 · 14/06/2009 21:21

Wow thats great 4. I got an amazing deal like that before at an NCT sale. We have a carboot up the road but it is HUGE. As in, takes 4 hours or so to walk round it . And I have banned myself from carboots as we are on a major de-clutter and don't need more crap! Would go if I knew there was definatly nappies there though!

4andnotout · 14/06/2009 21:24

I have never been to a NCT sale, i would like too though, i love carboots mainly for looking at cheap prams and pushchairs (my other addictions)

JennyPenny22 · 14/06/2009 22:39

I prefer NCT sales to bootsales BUT I would never be able to bring both the girls, it is way too mad in there! Have Taken Talia in the sling but wouldn't bring Elouise as well.

Can anybody tell me the main difference between ittis snap in and ittis AIOs? I STILL Haven't tried an itti and thinking about getting one for Talia in medium now the prices have dropped a little bit.

Octothechildherder · 14/06/2009 22:39

Ok - have now got my own website up www.nappywardrobe.co.uk - will put it in classified section tomorrow even though am covered under Lollipop!

The front page seems a bit wide on my screen - would love any feedback - I did it all myself!!!

4andnotout · 14/06/2009 22:44

jenny i didn't find any difference tbh, there is a cheap on on the for sale board, i bought a couple from her and they are immaculate

octo now looking at your site

4andnotout · 14/06/2009 22:48

octo I like it, are the monkey bags fairly large? I think i may have to treat myself to one

Octothechildherder · 15/06/2009 08:06

I have put the sizes on now - medium are 9 x 11 and large are 14 x 14

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 15/06/2009 09:15

Thank you ceb and Octo - the ones I have are the new version, and we're still getting leakage. Sometimes round the leg, but sometimes the whole nappy is wet all over, like it's just soaked through.

We have never tumble dried them, we wash them at 60, is that too hot?

A friend is sending me some Itti Bitti D'Lish to try instead, anyone got any of those? Are they good?

Thanks

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 15/06/2009 09:15

Will check out your site Octo

4andnotout · 15/06/2009 09:53

I love itti's

Octothechildherder · 15/06/2009 10:16

I love ittis - we do red, cream and purple - they are quite small nappies though - so if you were going to use them on a toddler I would check the size when you get one before you use it.

Some people will get an error message with my new website for up to 72 hours - others can see it! Very frustrating!

Octothechildherder · 15/06/2009 10:18

I would say the pop ins should be washed at 40 degs - what does the label say? (mine is in car!) Have you washed them enough times? Bamboo can need up to six washes.

mumface · 15/06/2009 11:44

I have just tried a large itti snap in on my 2.4year old ds(mint is lovely)and have one small (ivory) ready for new baby.It has lasted fine 3-4 hours each time.He is having a nap in it now.It fits him like pants in the rise but loads of popper room left on the waist. He's about 30lbs and wees through the blueberry onesize in about 2-3 hours. So i am impressed.Have a red one and mini microfibre booster to try on the way now.
I like the low rise as he gets a bit sore on tummy after a flexitot & ME airflow at night. It lets it breathe during the day.
They take a while to dry though.

4andnotout · 15/06/2009 12:05

I want need peppermint and chocolate itti's, then i think i will have at least one in every colour.

mumface · 15/06/2009 12:15

I am holding off getting any more small for new baby as it looks tiny! It's hardly any bigger than a pampers newborn sposie!May just go for med.I also don't know sex of baby.Want pink nappies!(got 2 boys)

4andnotout · 15/06/2009 12:19

I only had one small and dd4 was only 7lb when he was born and she fitted in mediums in a couple of weeks.

4andnotout · 15/06/2009 12:23
