hi all wanting some pretty wraps- but finding velcro scratchy on the modern baby 1 i have- what is pretty and poppered????

thebluefoxategreensocks · 01/05/2009 10:00

twoclimbingboys: is it hemp fabric nappies you're looking for? I have 2 hemp Baby Beehinds - they are btp nappies with 2 inserts and slim fitting! Although btp, these seem quite generous - more so than their bamboo version of the same nappies.

Camomilla · 01/05/2009 13:59

soon, what material are you not sure about? what's it look like?

rachel - how much would you want for them?Do you think they would be as slim as a large ella's house day nappy or a WNNL - if you have ever had either of those? I take it the hemp are slimmer than the bamboo?

The bamboo ones are small so I hadn't really considered the hemp ones!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 01/05/2009 16:25

twoclimbingboys: Haven't thought of a price yet - as still trying to decide if I want to keep them or not! LOL Not sure if they are as slim as a WNNL (I've only got medium WNNL to compare to, so not sure how they'd compare to say a large one.) Probably about as slim as an ellas house day nappy - but they've got the frilled sort of leg bindings that make them not quite as slm as they'd be otherwise - if you know what I mean! Personally I prefer the Mamabless hemp btp nappy (same idea as the Baby Beehinds, but a bit more slim/flexible/lightweight).

ceb80 · 01/05/2009 16:50

Hi everyone, been up to my ears with a baby feeding every 2 hours, but he's finally settled for a few minutes to give me time to catchup on what everyone's been doing.
Has anyone taken advantage of the special offers on atm, was thinking about the greenkids offer on Nappyzone as really want to try them!

Camomilla · 01/05/2009 17:22

softbots have 20% off too til sunday, just got some stuff

forgot to say, congrats and welcome to all the new babies!

twoclimbingboys · 01/05/2009 18:56

rachel lol - sorry god knows why I presumed you were selling! I may order a couple of WNNLs tbh - now he is quite big I prefer to just buy large then btp stuff. Probably going to sell some wraps to help fund it - anyone want:

M/L airflow with ducks (as new - only used a couple of times £5.50 posted),
M/L airflow (1 oceans theme EUC £5 posted)
Large white airflow (guc - £3.50 posted)
Large Wee Notions wrap yellow with a monkey on (lightly used - £7 posted as they are £14 new)

twoclimbingboys · 01/05/2009 19:00

rusmum Wee Notions wraps are poppered (I have 2 on their way to me pre-loved) and I also have 2 side snap ones on their way from upsy daisy too. I have bought ones to co-ordinate with his summer t-shirts, hoping the weather will be nice enough for him to just wear t-shirts and nappies!

TheNatty · 01/05/2009 19:27

i have had a bunch of bbos and udos this week, so my washing line looked lovely and fluffy today

im am selling my ellas house bumhuggers nappies if anyone is interested? ellen wets through them, and they were brand new, only been worn a few times. L and XL.

glad to see your back in the cloth soon and what a huge bundle of nappies!!

OP posts:
soon2befamilyof4 · 01/05/2009 20:12

Natty - what are the UDOS like? I wish I had one .

Have got it sorted with the BG. I am using bamboo inserts that I bought from 4 and they work perfectly. Nice and slim fitting and hold in all the BF poo. I have also bought quite a lot of XS sandys that I need to pay for tonight. Have just got some from CNT 6 for £14 which I thought were a bargain!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 01/05/2009 20:25

twoclimbingboys: I'm thinking now I might hold onto the hemp BBHs a bit longer and see how I like them, as have only used them a few times since I got them. Sorry to have mentioned them! I seem to buy/swap/sell sooooo many nappies, that sometimes I get rid of nappies before I've really found out if I like them or not! oops! LOL I recently got a few Growing Greens hemp btp nappies and couldn't tell at first if I liked them, but I think they're quite good really and seem to adjust nicely where both Clement and Benjamin can wear them. Anyway, sorry about that - and hope you find what you're looking for.

TheNatty · 01/05/2009 20:26

udos are lovely, i got two, one in blue with a space man and one in red with a little blue monster. proper boys nappies lol! ellen looks cute in them none the less, and with her only being in nappies half the day anyway i dont mind if she dont get much use out of them, as they werent bought for her lol!
glad to hear you are doing well with the BG's, we are doing muslins then BGs BBOS and UDOS when baby is big enough. im fairly sure this baby will be 7lb or more tho as my other two were.

OP posts:
rusmum · 01/05/2009 20:42

OK i have bitten the bullet and all my nappies are in with bold 2 in 1 as we speak!!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 01/05/2009 22:22

rusmum: If you decided you wanted to try a Weenotions wrap before spending out very much on one, I've got a large one with a butteryfly embroidery on the back. It's probably not been used that much, but the lycra outer has quite a few pulls to it (meaning it's not all that elegant!) but it's in good working order. Anyway, you could have it for 3 pounds inc post if interested. Pic here:

soon2befamilyof4 · 01/05/2009 22:32

Natty - the BG will fit from birth. DD2 is really skinny and we haven't had a leak from them yet. I haven't tried the BBOS yet but I think they would do the job but be bulkier on the bum which I don't like.

I tried the tots fleece wraps last night and didn't really like it. It just looked so bulky over the XS sandys, which are slim fitting with the PUL wrap. I think I will leave it a couple of weeks and see if they fit a bit when she puts on a bit of weight. She is around 7lb but long and skinny. To look at her, she looks smaller than 7lb IMO.

I think I am going to have to order some UD inserts! I REALLY shouldn't buy anything else but I LOVE the french soy terry and I think it would make an excellent insert for a newborn as they are so slim. And while they have 15% off

Got my close baby carrier today - Haven't tried it yet! Lovely and soft! Do you think I should wash it before I use it? It does stink of "New" sort of smell, but I love that new feeling when it is all so soft. Sorry that isn't nappy related I know but it came up on here about slings yesterday so thought I would tell you!

4andnotout · 01/05/2009 22:34

rusmum i posted your purple totswrap today I switched to bold 2in1 and love it, i wont go back to small and mighty (although am using the rest if the bottle up on the general laundry)

TheNatty · 01/05/2009 22:39

kool soon, nice to hear from someone who has the experiance of them.
will prob use my muslins until we have got rid of the black tar stuff anyway, and may well use them indoors just cos they dry super fast. will see, cos its not like i wont use them as bibs/coveralls/comforters/shade on pushchair, and the hundred and one other uses for them!

besides having practised my folding and pinning, and havin such tiny cute wraps i cant not use them lol!

OP posts:
soon2befamilyof4 · 01/05/2009 22:54

Natty - I am going to sell all my newborn nappies as soon as Talia grows out of them so I can use the money for more nappy buying!

soon2befamilyof4 · 01/05/2009 22:56

Rusmum - They will be fine in bold, honestly. If you are worried you can do an extra rinse but honestly, they will be fine.

TheNatty · 01/05/2009 23:00

yeah soon thats what i plan to do, even tho anymore pockets DH will strangle me. will have to start flirting with the postie and geting my parcels on the sly

OP posts:
soon2befamilyof4 · 01/05/2009 23:40

Natty, well if you need any newborn nappies you know where I am as that should be perfect timing. When is it you are due? Do you have enough Muslins?

TheLadyEvenstar · 01/05/2009 23:58

Hi Ladies,

Didn't want you to think I had disappeared!

Having my bag stolen triggered a bout of depression, no excuse for not being here i know!

But I am back and I need to pay you lovely ladies for the nappies. So if you can email me I will sort it all out on wednesday and thursday.

twoclimbingboys · 02/05/2009 10:24

My free little lamb nappy arrived today. I got the bamboo and it seems lovely. Best of all it arrived with a fleece liner and a wrap! How great is that.

twoclimbingboys · 02/05/2009 10:33

I have just listed here a couple of baby boys summer bits in 3-6 and 6-9 ffp if anyone wants them?
