rusmum · 20/04/2009 17:01

have no gotton on with fleece so am giving up!!

Want to get sorted for summer so advice please on what to cover my 2 parters with.

wool??? or some pretty wraps???

sasamaxx · 20/04/2009 17:12

I didn't get on with fleece either but I get on fine with wool or ME Airflow. I think you need both - don't they say that wool is cooler for summer? (...whoever 'they' are)

sasamaxx · 20/04/2009 20:19

No def not pretty - more like pretty horrendous!

TheNatty · 20/04/2009 21:03

hey guys!

ellen is suffering with nappy rash too tree. i wonder if its the sudden warm weather, as im still dressing her for winter (wool tights/thick trousers) maybe its a heat rash

oh an to my knowledge wee doesnt cause a problem its poo that causes nappy rash. isnt wee sterile? so i doubt its ur infrequent changing.

what wipes you using?
we use reusable and i have special 'rash' wipes (made out of an old fleece blanket) which i use with roobios (sp) tea and chamamile (sp AGAN) oil. seems to help alot. i use the chopped up fleece wipes because the tea stain. (im too precious over my nice rainbow wipes )

Morning all

sasamaxx will get the bumhuggers posted to you today

Well i was being really good and waiting for the seller to get back to me about buying the bbh's but it has been a week so i blew it on a itti and a bbos

Have had really bad build up in the nappies, so have been washing without powder and at 60 degrees and so far it seems to have worked, i think it's because i use too much small and mighty i forget it is concentrated!

TheNatty · 21/04/2009 09:40

Just stopping by to say hello! 3 little ones make for a very busy mummy, so not had much time for chatting lately! But here's a pic of the 3 darlings:
i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk108/rachins_photos/Clement/3darlings.jpg

took the photo first thing yesterday morning, when the 3 of them were all in my bed, in their pjs!

Clement is doing very well and quite content! Mummy's milk is doing a very good job fattening him up too! He lost 7oz by day 3 but had put on 9oz over the next 2 days, to be up over his birth weight and a healthy 9lbs on day 5! And today (day 10) he's now 9lb 10oz! So, I'm very pleased and know that he's getting plenty to eat!

Here's some nappy pics too!

wearing a lovely Lucy's Hopechest AIO nappy:

and a size 1 Cotton Tots and size 0 Tots fleece wrap:

Hope everyone else is doing OK!

rusmum · 21/04/2009 14:05

thebluefoxategreensocks · 21/04/2009 14:05

rusmum · 21/04/2009 14:48

clement is unusual- love it!!!!

rusmum · 21/04/2009 15:52

I am considering getting rid of all of my cloth!!

DD2 been in disposables all last week as we were on holiday all went well, 2 days back in cloth and her bits are getting sore!!!!

4andnotout · 21/04/2009 21:05

RUSMUM I think i would cry if i had to give up cloth!

soon2befamilyof4 · 21/04/2009 22:18

Rusmum - Are you doing an extra rinse at the end of the wash cycle? That might help? What nappies are you using?

DD got a really bad rash in a shaped nappy I used today. Not really sure why, but we have been using fleece lined pockets so maybe she needs fleece between hr and the nappy or something? I used the same washing powder etc but I guess her skin is kept dry in a fleece lined pocket where as she isn't in a shaped nappy. It was litterally a bright red rash, in every part that the nappy covered so was def caused by the nappy. She has since had a nice bath and in a fleece lined UDNN now with wool over the top.

I am due tomorrow! Yay. Doesn't look like she will be on time though! I have newborn woolies that I can't wait to try out! Am getting more and more keen on the idea of goig straight into cloth when we get home from hospital. Does anybody know how long that sticky tar poo stuff lasts? Sorry can't remember the proper name for it! I on;y really remember DD having one, which was in the middle of the night, the first time I had to change her, in the dark, completly faffing about! lol. Once that poo is out the way I would probably use my washables as long as they fit. If the MW is right about the size though, she will be plenty big enough!

I have some dye too to use, girly colours mainly but I am waiting to double check this baby is a girl first! LOL.

Does anybody know what happens if you loose the slip for a recorded delivery?

4 - your inserts still haven't arrived! I am in no hurry though, and TBH we haven't had much else in the post and I am waiting on several parsels

minicorrect · 21/04/2009 22:25

rachelinscotland Received the wraps yesterday thanks.

twoclimbingboys · 21/04/2009 22:33

soon you must be so excited.

rusmum - I hope an extra rinse each wash helps the nappy rash problem. I always use fleece liners to prevent it. Even in diposables I also put on petroleum jelly at every nappy change, the fleece liners should stop creams damaging your nappy.

natty I messaged Wee Notions about the XL again and got this response - I can make you an XL using the pattern I have made if you like, BUT I haven't tested it and got measurements etc, but if you are happy to wing it then let me know and I will tell you how to order.
So I will be ordering 1 on Thursday when I order Blake's 3 WNNNs. If it fits him well I will order another when the wool AI2s are ready. Do you still want the WNNN I bought off Rachel? My e-mail address is vikki _ higham at yahoo dot co dot uk.

soon2befamilyof4 · 21/04/2009 23:09

TCB - hope you don't mind me saying this but - it is the fleece that gets clogged by the creams rather than the nappy. So if your nappies are not fleece lined you can use as much cream as you like but if they are fleece lined you should use a disposable liner in between. Somebody please correct me if I am wrong though as I might be!

rusmum · 22/04/2009 09:39

thanks all will try this- using sandys!! only stripped them week before we went away though!! Maybe in bucket too long!! i have too many i think!

TheNatty · 22/04/2009 11:31

try a really hot wash? teatree in rinse cycle? sounds to me like a reaction to something. what type do you use?

TCB to be honest i think that ellen wont fit it long, she has really grown the last few weeks. thanks anyway tho
i think if i can order XL i will have to.
tho saying this toms XL ellas house order came today, and i dont think they are that muchbigger then the L
we will see in a few days when they are washed and dried, hemp shrinks as well doesnt it?

OP posts:
rusmum · 22/04/2009 14:22

think it could be biological powder

sasamaxx · 22/04/2009 16:32

4 - received bumhugger today - thanks a million! can't wait to try it out. For a night nappy, do I need to boost it, and do I use a liner or is it better to have fleece next to skin? Hope my woolly fits over it.

rusmum - do you really have too many sandys? Are they size 2/large? If so, I really need some
I'm going to sell some MEOS I think as I have 20 and that's just ridiculous - esp since they are back-up nappies...

sasamaxx · 22/04/2009 16:33

Oh an 4 - I really appreciate the quickness of delivery! Thanks so much.

rusmum · 22/04/2009 17:07

sasamaxx have 11 spare large sandys but not in GREAT condition- used but usable!!! iykwim??
