4andnotout · 09/05/2009 09:59

My adiction is waning, i just have far too many nappies and i cant justify buying any more especially as dd3 (19m) looks like she is getting ready to potty train
Hopefully i'll have a dc5 next year so i can have newborn fuff again!

rusmum · 09/05/2009 10:02

twoclimbingboys · 09/05/2009 20:24

UD fluffy post has arrived - I love it all!

I am going to order more. Could someone do me a huge favour please and have a look on cloth tots to see if there is a discount code on there for Upsy Daisy - I still haven't been approved.

JennyPenny22 · 09/05/2009 20:55

I was never approved either! I applied at least twice and the first time was weeks ago, possible a couple of months or so. :-(

What did you order from UD? I am excitef about my order now!!!

twoclimbingboys · 09/05/2009 21:00

I have just put photos on cnt - the cloth nappy chat part!

3 wraps (1 fleece and 2 minkee) a UDNN and a fitted all in soy - thank you for the recommendation. I love them. I can't believe they arrived so fast.

BBOS - I've never bought one but about £13 with inserts and £10/11 without? But a few people seem to ask huge amounts so maybe more?

JennyPenny22 · 09/05/2009 21:11

I would be happy with that price TBH IF I decide to sell them. Am using fitteds for now, will give it a week or so to see how we get on. Could do with the money though TBH.

twoclimbingboys · 09/05/2009 21:15

I am swapping to fitteds more and more - chaeper to get really nice wraps, and the itti's leak.

Maternity pay is a nightmare isn't it, i'm still attempting to pay off the overdraft I built up.

JennyPenny22 · 09/05/2009 21:37

I am not on maternity pay! I don't get anything because I had just become self employed when I found out I was pregnant!

I am returning to childminding from monday, part time! So school runs with a toddler and newborn in tow! Lovely!

swampster · 09/05/2009 21:56

That's a real bummer, JP. Good luck on Monday.

I am clearing out some small items. Anyone after tiny fleece wraps or small fitteds?

twoclimbingboys · 09/05/2009 22:02

JP - oh no! At least you sound really organised with your newbie and tot.

Tree & Rusmum - on cnt loads of people put photos on of their LOs in longies and skirties and generally say who have made them. They are really lovely!

JennyPenny22 · 09/05/2009 23:16

Swampster - I notice you are selling tots fleece wraps. Out of interest, did you get on well with them? We have one and I just can't get on with it.

I am not sure if our nappies are not absorbant enough, or if I am not changing often enough, or if Talia wees more than an average 2 week old! Lol. I change her nappy about every 3 hours, but anything cotton is soaked. Bamboo is not too bad. Things like the ME sandys, cotton tots bots etc are just drenched after 3 hours? I got them from all different people so I don't think it is because the nappy is too well used or anything! The only thing that is working well is bamboo or hemp! I didn't think we would need these till size 2!

At night, the only thing that has worked really well was last night when I used the BBH, but I only have one of these as it isn't absorbant enough for Elouise so I hadn't bothered. Didn't expect to be able to use on Talia for a while yet. Bamboozles, bamboo LL and an EH hemp nappy are others I have used, and they have stayed leak free, but again, she is soaked by morning .

I always feel sorry for them when soaked in non fleece lined nappie . Must be so uncofortable?!

swampster · 09/05/2009 23:29

I love, love, LOVE fleece wraps! And I always use them overnight -with no leaks. I use BBH under them (not size 0s, obviously), or sometimes Bumhuggers. DS3 has been in BBH with the smaller booster overnight for a good while now. They were too big for the first few weeks though.

I don't tend to use any cotton nappies any more - I find them too damn soggy.

rusmum · 10/05/2009 09:30

NICE WRAPS STILL NEEDED!

afterglow · 10/05/2009 12:34

2 climbing boys , no, not rude at all! I'm glad that yours are all here and are lovely, I hope that my order arrives soon too. lol - you have a Blake, I have a Blythe.

Jennypenny, I think that every 3hrs is about right, though the time always seems to fly past. Nature Babies do hourglass shaped fleece liners which cover loads of the nappy, might be worth looking at something like that? Apparently the wetness bothers us more than it bothers the babies.

Camomilla · 11/05/2009 14:48

hi everyone, got my free bamboo ll on sat, plus wrap and liner (sooooooooo soft)!

jenny dd used to soak through the cotton xs sandy's too, but we only had 4 and then we had mixed stuff, from muslins to btp sample nappies. as soon as I could put her in a S I did and massive difference, but try just boosting, I know lollipop used her xs for quite a while just by adding a booster. but 3 hrs are about right for her age, and you can make some fleece liners to cover the whole nappy out of blankets (out of this I got 2 pouch slings and 20 liners)

thebluefoxategreensocks · 11/05/2009 18:27

Just saying hello from sunny Yorkshire! Although the farm cottage doesn't have a washing machine - it does have wireless internet! lol So here I am from my laptop - but will try to not be here much, as I'm meant to be on holiday - and a break from computer would be a good idea I think.

jennypenny: I've found that Clement can wear the cotton tots for nights and they are quite wet by morning, but not really toooooo wet. Maybe it's newer/thinner cotton tots you have? The ones I have are really thick ones, old/original ones - which seem about twice as thick as newer ones! But I do prefer totally fleece lined for nights (when little ones can cope with that - unlike Benjamin! LOL). So going to try a couple of bumhuggers for Clement next (when back from holiday).

swampster · 11/05/2009 19:36

I am selling some of those original cotton Tots here

JennyPenny22 · 11/05/2009 21:17

I am not sure if the tots are new or old ones. But it isn't just them, it is anything that isn't bamboo or hemp really! XS Sandys, cotton tots, lollipop softies and fleece, shaped terrys, everything really. I am happy to change every 3 hours, but what I mean is, by this time they are absolulty soaked, where it is horrible to take them off etc. Bamboo seems to be fine though, although even that is soaked at night (except the BBH so might have to get a few more of these for night time!).

Does anybody know how long a BBH takes to dry?

Elouise is now soaking through her UDNN even with the night booster and under wool . So have now added an EP hemp as well as all the french soy and hoping that works but it then only just about does up!

TheNatty · 11/05/2009 21:31

oh jenny about upsy daisy

still calling u soon in my head btw

hope you solve your daytime problems, how are you getting on with BGs? is she soaking thru them yet?

OP posts:
twoclimbingboys · 11/05/2009 22:26

I've just realised I can add photos on here too - doh! So here are some photos of the upsy daisy fluffy post here and the back of the beach scene wrap

I have already replied on CNT about your heavy wetting problems jenny - not that I am much help at all!

JennyPenny22 · 11/05/2009 22:35

TBH I haven't tried a BG on her since Talia was born. I will give them a go tomorrow. I have been put off pockets a bit TBH recently as a couple of days of shaped nappies and a wrap and I soon realised that fitteds are a lot more reliable - although we did have a leak today but think the wrap is past it TBH. But I know if I end up selling all my pockets then I will end up changing my mind and then loosing money once again!

Rachel - I have PMed you regarding swapping the Wool wrap for the WN insert. Have a good holiday!

Might have to sell my BBOS to fund more night nappies unless I manage to cut down Elouise's milk.

JennyPenny22 · 11/05/2009 22:47

Actually, speaking of pockets and leaks etc. With my UD order I did order 2 of the super pocket inserts which were expensive but according to UD they are very reliable and good for heavy wetters. French soy of course!
I also ordered some of the normal, cheaper french soy inserts in both small and large to try out on both babies. Hoping the small ones will double up as inserts.

I seem to have misplaced an UDNN insert and booster . It is really bugging me as to where it has gone! I have a HUGE pile of stuff waiting to be put away upstairs and hoping it is hidden in that somewhere as I did plan to put it away that day but it never happened! Will have to be my job for tomorrow I guess otherwise I won't have an UD for tomorrow night!
