Ilove..., what I really want is a fleecey Sugar Peas.

swampster · 24/03/2009 22:59

Yeah, rachelin, you very nearly made me go out and buy an UDNN just then.

swampster · 25/03/2009 00:39

I just nearly placed an order for a Sugar Peas fleece (and a whole bunch of other stuff ) from Canada to be shipped to the States then brought back to me BUT it was going to be charged in US rather Canadian dollars and wound up a whole load more expensive ...

US Exchange rate is crap. Got an email from BBH Australia saying that if we want new BBHs, need to ask a stockist to order...

Or order from australia?

They are very cute...

How much is $25.00 AU dollars?

I have seen some babybeehinds in both hemp and bamboo preloved - do you think they would be any good for a heavy wetter at night? The seller says they will, but they would say that!

soon2befamilyof4 · 25/03/2009 09:19

Sorry I can talk a bit better now school run done.

DD was dry again last night! I washed and dried her WNNN and put it back on with the same inserts etc. Worked fine. Won't have anything for tonight though . Although that said, the postman hasn't been yet! But I doubt my UDNN will be here yet - I think you were lucky Rachel because of emailing them to say you were in a hurry. I was thinking about emailing today for an update but didn't want to sound like I am rushing them or being impatient.

A custom made nappy is where you buy brand new from smaller companies who make their nappies to order. Like with the Upsey daisies, I think it is just run by 2 ladies and they will make them as and when needed. Which means you then get a bit more say in what you get. Often you can choose the fabric design, what absorbant material is used and sometimes add extras like boosters etc. So for my UDNN I got to choose the absorbant material (choice between bamboo, hemp and french soy), then choose a pattern to go on the bum, then choose your booster if you want one etc etc.

If my easy peasy order doesn't come today, what do you think I should do? It has been nearly 2 weeks now I think? Ordered the same time as Natty and she got hers a while ago.

swampster · 25/03/2009 09:21

AU$25 = £11.90. Should we get an order together?

I find BBH fantastic for nights on my toddler. They hold a huge amount of pee.

soon2befamilyof4 · 25/03/2009 09:44

I am going to get the bbh then. Is yours bamboo or hemp?

My UD has been dispatched! YAY! That was good time. Hopefully I will get it by the end of the week or on sat. Rachel - do you know if it was first class or whatever?

swampster · 25/03/2009 09:53

Bamboo...

soon2befamilyof4 · 25/03/2009 09:54

I have just looked all through my paypal and nothing actually says easy peasy so maybe my order didn't go through? Anybody know what it would have come up as? That is annoying BUT on the other hand, I might be ok with the second hand inserts I got and I didn't actually need the fleece wipes or tie on nappy - I just wanted to try out while I am doing an order. So if I haven't actually done an order I might just leave it and keep my eye out for preloved ones which i prefer anyway.

I am always looking for preloved BBOS combo inserts if anybody sees any as these work really well for us in all our pockets.

ChocOrange05 · 25/03/2009 11:16

swampster whats BBH?

TheNatty · 25/03/2009 11:31

soon it came up on my bank account as "paypal-payments" normally it comes up with "paypal-company"

ive ordered a second set as well as two of the micro fibre glove things.
give them a call or an email? [email protected]
dont know the number.
did you get a confimation email? on that there is a link to check the status of your order.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 25/03/2009 12:59

My UD nappies were posted 1st Class on Saturday but didn't arrive (from Wales to N of Scotland) until Tuesday.

However, I'm wondering how many times they'll need to be washed before they'll last the night! I was told the soy fabric had been pre-washed once, so I did them on two 60 degree washes yesterday (only once with soap and not drying in-between). However, we had disaster at 2am!! Benjamin was nearly soaked up to his arm pits!!! The poooor little boy! He was freezing cold and 100% miserable (esp having had his feet "wet wrapped" for eczema last night!). I felt terrible! Sooo, just wondering how many times I need to wash them before they can last the night?! You could tell the fabric was still too new like, and not really soaking up the liquid properly. So, maybe some daytime wearing & washing several more times. At least my 2 pre-loved WN Night Notions arrived today, so maybe one of them will work for tonight.

TheNatty · 25/03/2009 13:07

rachel i read somewhere you have to dry them inbetween in order to condition the fabrics.
i find washing and drying inserts on fast washes and tumbled on hot does it quickly, and doenst do them any harm as you only do it on hot tumble a couple of times.

still took about 6 or 7 washes to get the hemp fully absorbant tho.

my ellas house came today, anyone know how many washes THAT will take? i dont want to risk anything at night till im sure, although im impatient, changing a huge single bed at 2am with abump and a crying toddler is just not worth it!!

rusmum · 25/03/2009 13:28

just bought a bbh to try. Still unsure about fleece wraps!!!

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 25/03/2009 13:30

sorry, no time to catch up, hope you and your LOs are all well!!

ILMD just got the BBH, thanks! will try it tonight!

ChocOrange05 · 25/03/2009 14:00

My BBOS lasted from 7pm-10pm - not a long test but pleased it works. My tots bots bamboozles have arrived today so I can use those at night now. Do babies wee more as they get older? Am I going to have night time nappy challenges??

TheNatty · 25/03/2009 14:15

choc i think its just that their bladders are bigger, and they do huge wees at once

swampster · 25/03/2009 14:17

Everybody has night time nappy challenges - I think. I'm sure you will rise to yours.

ilovemydogandMrObama · 25/03/2009 15:41

And the weird thing is that what works for one, doesn't necessarily work for another...

OP posts:
TheNatty · 25/03/2009 15:53

god i hope i find the right combination before i spend my entire budget on just night nappies..
SO
can we have a list of what people use at night, may there is something simple im missing.

ChocOrange05 · 25/03/2009 16:03

natty tots bots bamboozles + imse vimse wool wrap for my 19 week old DS. No leaks so far (except when DH doesn't put it on properly )

soon2befamilyof4 · 25/03/2009 16:12

Yes they wee more as they get older/bigger but I wouldn't worry about it yet. It is really when the baby is sleeping though but leaking (which often wakes them up). You might well need a couple of night nappies when you have a young toddler but on young babies I think daytime ones are fine. I haven't got any small night nappies for my next one anyway. BUT you are likely to have night problems with a heavy wetter regardless of if you use washables or not. We haven't even been able to find a disposable that works all night so don't let it put you off too much.

The Tots AIO I have bought is brand new, just prewashed for £10. I also got a new (but slightly damaged) BBH from her for £7 and a BBOS for £8 with insert so I think I have got a good deal. Shame my paypal is playing up so I haven't been able tp pay her yet! It is because I am trying to add a new card.

Natty - I wouldn't have anything on my bank statement because I had funds in my paypal so it came straight out of that. I would have thought it would say easy peasy on the paypal account though so don't think it went through. I also can't find the conformation email but I have hundreds of emails and I don't really know.

Rachel - sorry to hear about your UD - I hope it works in the end! I didn't think it needed many washes, not like hemp. But I am not sure - might be worth emailing them?

TheNatty · 25/03/2009 16:30

hmm choc i dont think that would be enough for my DD, bamboo not sucky enough i think
like the idea of the wool wrap, do you think that a wool wrap would work over an ellas house?

ChocOrange05 · 25/03/2009 17:49

Don't ask me natty I am a complete novice at all this!! I'm sure someone else can help though!
