rachel if you are happy to go down the disposable route (i have to with my 3 year old DS) the huggies drynights are fantastic, they hold so much wee, i rarely have leaks.
they say 4-7years on them, but thomas is not three until next month and he fits them fine.

soon2befamilyof4 · 24/03/2009 08:26

Lol mum of toby. We keep saying this will be our last one but I know once I don't have a baby anymore I will be getting broady again! We are still young so won't get anything perminant done (I have just turned 22 and hubby is 24) but I think that is lethal with us after 2 accidents! Anyway, noo idea why I am telling you this!

WE HAD NO LEAKS!!! YAY! The first time in weeks!! And that includes disposables. We had a WNNN with 3 easy peasy hemps and a pettis dessous insert! She was big bummed but it wasn't THAT bad. And that was under an airflow too so if under wool, we might even be able to drop an insert! She did the worst poo I think she has ever done this morning too so have just delt with that mess and it is on a rinse in the washing machine!

I am doing my nappy wash this morning as hopefully it will be nice outside today (it chucked it down with rain yesterday PM). Love having nappies outside in the sun/wind!

ellielou02 · 24/03/2009 09:18

soon, congrats on the dry night!

I had a lollipop micro-fleece in my nappy trisl kit and loved it. The only reason I didn't buy some was because the sizing was a bit big on dd. But I did buy two lollipop bamboo fitteds which are in my emergency stash, they're very good. The fleece were great because they dried really fast. From what I remember the softee is cream coloured and stupidly soft, the microfleece have less of a "pile" to the fleece.

I'm impatiently waiting to try dd in night nappies, currently have a pink bbh and a bamboo sandys in the day rotation while they get fully abosrbent. I did buy an ecobubs too but that is so stupidly pretty I can't see it being saved just for nights.

TheNatty · 24/03/2009 11:10

soon thats great! thomas managed to wet thru his drynights pyjama pants last night, i dont know how he does it! he had a fleece babygrow on as well

may end up going down the WNNN route myself, how did you get one made in the special cotton? there doesnt seem to be an option on the site.

well i got fluffy post today my new nappies came, dh nearly died when he saw the invoice receipt!
they are in the machine already, as i know with the tots bots they needed about 5 washes before they became absorbant, before that they just leaked constantly.
hope my hemp and bamboo inserts get here soon cos i dont have enough for the amount of nappies i have now lol!

rusmum · 24/03/2009 11:32

Question re fleece wrap- should they feel damp?????

drlove8 · 24/03/2009 11:56

soontobe , how did you dye your nappies? what did you use? and do you think id get away with dyeing the nappies that ive got with pinky red accidental dye from red pants on?

soon2befamilyof4 · 24/03/2009 12:20

I used dylon machine dye. They look SOOO much better than being boring white/cream. Certain materials don't dye (like fleece, wool etc) but cotton, hemp etc comes up lovely. I order mine from ebay as it is cheaper and if you order a few then you get a postage discount. I ordered some more last night. I soon want all my nappies to be good colours! It is very easy in the machine. You can also get a pre dye thing to remove previous dyes and colours, but I have never used that before as mine have always been white. It says colour mixing rules apply. Ie if you use blue dye on red clothes you get purple.

My easy peasy order STILL hasn't come! I am wondering if it never went through. Natty - did you pay with paypal? Don't suppose you know what it came up as on your paypal account?

Also natty, I didn't order my WNNN - I just got a old preloved one cheap. It was an Upsey Daisy Night nappy I ordered specially, which is french soy terry - maybe that is what you are thinking of?

soon2befamilyof4 · 24/03/2009 12:26

Oh and not sure who asked now but a WNNN = Weenotions night notion

TheNatty · 24/03/2009 18:29

soon yeah thats what i was thinking off. tho to be honest 4 of them (2 day rotation for 2 kids) would cost me 100 quid.. i dont think i would get thru that many disposable nappies to make it viable.
plus DH would go mental if i buy anymore new nappies lol, i can just about get away with inserts.. (might have ordered some new ones today...)

soon2befamilyof4 · 24/03/2009 20:00

My UDNN only cost me £15 custom made and that was with the extra booster etc. They start from £10 I think. If you get on fine with disposables though then that might be best. I had to invest in some good night nappies as DD is already soaking through sposies and we still have a long time till potty training! I have only ordered one for now and hoping I might be able to get away with maybe using the WNNN and UDNN in a 2 day rotation and that will be it. If the UDNN is much better than the WNNN though I might get a second one.

TheNatty · 24/03/2009 20:42

you will have to keep us updated, if they work they sound like a good idea, and fairly cheap too, i could stretch to 60quid, esp as new baby would get a use out of them too eventually

soon2befamilyof4 · 24/03/2009 20:50

I have bought a tots bots AIO for £10 - is that good? With lilac stars.

Natty - do you know the sex of your baby?

MY WNNN took a long time to dry and I had to finish off in the tumble dryer. The easy peasy hemp inserts were dry though after a day on the line outside which I thought was good.

ChocOrange05 · 24/03/2009 21:23

soon what is a custom made nappy?? Sounds interesting!

I haven't dared use my Itti's at night for DS - I have bought 3 Tots Bots Bamboozles which were the ones we used via the nappy laundry service - that plus a Imse Vimse Wool Wrap seems to be fine for him at night, although we are still doing a change at 11pm feed so not tested anything for 12 hours yet. ATM I am using disposables as the Tots Bots haven't arrived but DS is currently testing a BBOS for his 7-10pm sleep.

swampster · 24/03/2009 21:29

OMG!!! I need some!

weepootle · 24/03/2009 21:41

ChocOrange, I put dd2 down at 6.30pm the other night with a BBOS on, planning to change her at 11pm. I had a couple of glasses of wine and although I fed her, I forgot to change her . I couldn't believe it when she still had it on at 8am and no leaks!

ChocOrange05 · 24/03/2009 21:42

cute, do they sell them here swampster??

swampster · 24/03/2009 21:47

Never seen them before ChocO.

ilovemydogandMrObama · 24/03/2009 21:47

swampster They are itti bittis! Same material.

swampster · 24/03/2009 22:09

Yes but Ittis leak for me every time! (Had another leak today out of my lovely small chocolate Itti). And these are Pocket All-in-Ones from my favourite nappy people, BBH! Sounds too good to be true.

mumoftoby · 24/03/2009 22:11

swampster I want some too!

soon I am 26 so am trying to delay DHs vasectomy and have a few years to persuade him to have more!

I am furious with DH as he got washing out the machine for me (which is great - although he shouldn't have as he had a back operation a couple of weeks ago) and put 2 itti outers over the radiator - grrr - will they leak now? They were there for 3 hours before I got in from work?
I should that i am in a terrible mood as am sure I am getting shingles again (stinging skin on waist) but no rash yet. On the phone a dr told me to go to a walk in centre to get viral meds asap. Arrived to be told I will need to wait for a rash before I can be given anything. He then wouldn't tell me if I was infectious before the rash - as it is a hypothetical question as I am undiagnosed. Arrogant arse. Sorry - I am boring you all to death now...

TheNatty · 24/03/2009 22:14

soon im having a boy lol, but i have purple nappies for him and ellen wears blues ones. im not fussy really as long as a nappy doesnt leak and is easy to use im nappy. (mind you saying that i always steer clear of white ones )

the tots AIO sell for 14-16 new, so a tenner for one that cant be that old as they are relativly new is good i think.

cant wait for my BH to come, but what to put over it im a bit stumped...

ilovemydogandMrObama · 24/03/2009 22:20

Swampster Shall we do a nappy share? [hmm}

Finders fee is you get one in the UK? The EU distributor seems nice and helpful...

mumtotoby Poor poor you.... Take time off work.

Got my Upsy Daisy Night Nappies today! They are sooooo soft - the soy fabric is just like a lovely jersey bed sheet, tho better (can't really describe it) but seems the most lovely, soft, flexible fabric for a night nappy! I put them through a 60 degree wash twice today, so hoping they're good enough for a 12 hour night!

Here are a few pics of Benjamin modeling it before I washed it (he's not being very photogenic as he's having quite a miserable time with eczema! )

i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk108/rachins_photos/nappy2-1.jpg
(he thought is cars should be the subject of the photo! )

i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk108/rachins_photos/nappy3-1.jpg

Very pleased with the fit of it - nice and snug, no gaps, yet not too tight/uncomfortable.

Soooo, awaiting results in the morning - though could take a few more washings to be at top performance.

We did have a dry bed last night, but that was only because of the bamboo terry square wrapped around the disposable (inside the ME wrap!). As in, the terry square was very wet - so just think how wet he & bed would have been had we only relied on a disposable! However, he was very itchy in nappy area (as he gets after being in paper nappies) so I'm pleased to have him in something else tonight.

mumoftoby · 24/03/2009 22:52

rachel benjamin is so cute! the nappy looks fab too
