no baby here either! I'm 41w according to the scan, or only 40w 1d according to my own dates. I'm inclined to think my own dates are correct...so trying to be patient, which is very difficult! Spent several hours walking around a shopping centre this afternoon, but not sure it's done much good. Didn't seem to get any pains while walking, though had a few since we got back home.

twoclimbingboys · 08/04/2009 21:37

soon I do a nappy wash every other day. If I washed them daily I would only need 2/3 each.

If I remember I will try to squash Toby into a BBH in the morning - he is 2 but in age 3 clothes now.

soon2befamilyof4 · 08/04/2009 21:49

Do you have 2 in nappies TCB? I had estimated that I would have a full load of nappies everyday when I have 2 in nappies but sounds like everybody else here does every 2 days?

Rachel - sorry to hear baby is taking his/her time. I am going to try and workk out a childcare plan for if I go overdue as I keep panicking about it but the main reason I am desperate to have baby early is that I don't have childcare for DD, unless DH doesn't come to the birth . From now till 20th I have 3 people that can be here 24/7 if needed but due on 22nd! My baby isn't even engaged! Do you know the sex?

Toby only wears nappies of a night. I have enough nappies and space in the machine to wash every 3rd day, but just don't like to leave pooey nappies that long normally.

Blake's head didn't engage until I was in labour - I think it is quite common if it isn't your first baby. So fingers crossed you could still have her before the 20th

soon2befamilyof4 · 08/04/2009 22:11

I hate leaving the nappies too and TBH I would prefer to wash daily because it doesn't bother me at all. I use those Peggy things from poundland for the nappies so it only takes 5 mins and I can move them to where ever I want in the house. BUT I don't like putting the washer on more than needed because of cost and environmental reasons (same reason I don't tumble dry). So might still do 2 days. At the mo it is 2-3 days. We have enough nappies for about 2 weeks! lol. But I don't use my 2 parters much so they are more for when the pockets are all in the wash.

4andnotout · 08/04/2009 22:15

I have 2 in nappies and wash every day which is 2 buckets full, thats wipes as well though.
I have enough nappies for 4-5 days but i find if i dont wash every day there are too many nappies in a wash and they dont get as clean.

DD3 who is 18 months has her nightime bbh on the same setting as dd4 with the tabs meeting in the middle.

soon2befamilyof4 · 08/04/2009 22:36

YEs we use wipes too but they don't really take up any extra space - maybe the same as one extra nappy. Am I right in thinking you use pockets 4? We have a big bin that we use as our nappy bucket because I got fed up with the tiny buckets that they sell with the nappies. We had 3 but they did my head in. Seemed to be full very quickly. We do have one to keep upstairs though. When we have the newborn though we might find the buckets handy for when we change in the living room etc. With having 2 to keep an eye on, I won't always be able to go up to the changing table upstairs.

4andnotout · 08/04/2009 22:40

We use pockets during the day and 2 parters at night, i have a 5litre bucket and a 2.5litre bucket which is upstairs as i usually end up changing downstairs unless it is first thing in the morning or before bath time at night.

soon2befamilyof4 · 08/04/2009 22:42

Can I ask what age gap you have 4? Not nappy related - just made me realize you must have a small gap?

4andnotout · 08/04/2009 22:46

I have 13 months between dd3 and dd4.

soon2befamilyof4 · 08/04/2009 22:53

Oh ok. Sorry I looked realy rude then. I was only asking as I will have 15-16 months between my 2 - depending on when this one decides to arrive. Glad I am not the only one with a small gap and still doing washables. All my family and friends think I am mad but to be honest, nobody else round here uses washables - I only know 1 person in RL who does.

4andnotout · 08/04/2009 23:06

I didn't think you were being rude at all
This is the smallest gap i have had and probably the easiest so far but dd4 is by far my easiest baby! The other gaps are 3.5 years and 2.6 years.
I have used cloth on all my babies, but dd1 and dd2 i didn't have internet access so didn't know there were any other cloth nappies other than terries and kushies! Hence my addiction now i think

soon2befamilyof4 · 08/04/2009 23:28

Lol 4. When DD was in nappies before I used to go on the cloth hat on netmums and do you know the most exciting thing reomended there was tots bots I think! I did have a recommendation for mommy's touch which is what got me interested in them but other than that, everybody was using 2 parters, mainly MEOS and the like. This was about a year ago. But what amazes me - it was all cotton and I don't think I ever heard anybody mention hemp or bamboo etc. Its annoying as I wouldn't have bought cotton MEOS if I had known they did bamboo ones.

I think most people on here use pockets in the daytime.

I went ahead and bought they UDNN in medium and just hoping it fits. If it doesn't, I might just try out the inserts in my daytime pockets if long enough as they are so slim fitting.

ilovemydogandMrObama · 09/04/2009 07:23

thenatty -- Glad you received the Bum Genius V3. Although it is missing the newborn insert, is in good condition. I would be grateful if in lieu of payment, you could make a donation to:

HI all- just checking in!

treedelivery · 09/04/2009 12:09

Me too!

So what shall I make some reusable breast pads out of? Those gel filled ones too itchy. Yak.

treedelivery · 09/04/2009 12:44

Swampster - thanks for the tip. I have a bear! She like it too. Brill!

swampster · 09/04/2009 13:56

I thought my computer crashed before I managed to send that!

treedelivery · 09/04/2009 14:08

No. Just me being crapolla. Not been here since Sat or something!

Was hoping I was buying one you had for sale! Got it for great price too. Fab.

swampster · 09/04/2009 14:13

No, not me selling, just thought if I suggested you try ebay on here you'd be bidding against the world and his mother. Glad you got one.

soon2befamilyof4 · 09/04/2009 15:44

I am going to try and use my MEOS for a few days on DD so I can actually gather up what I have got pocket wise to work out what I have got. I know I need to get some more Hemp inserts though been waiting to get some preloved but not having any luck!

Got a couple of ella house hemp shaped nappies if anybody is interested? Or anybody know the going rate for them preloved?

soon2befamilyof4 · 09/04/2009 16:16

Does anybody know why paypal are charging me to pay directly from my card? It isn't charging me when I have funds in there but when I pay by card it is adding on fees which are really bumping up the price?!

LackaDAISYcal · 09/04/2009 17:02

help me ladies......i am looking at itti bittis and resisting the urge to buy!!!!

I have got DD back in cloth ....at least part time anyway, and pockets seem to be the way to go as she isn't a particularly heavy wetter. I have been using medium fuzzis on both her and DS so if I do buy anything new it would need to be something that would accommodate them both....

any suggestions???

treedelivery · 09/04/2009 17:05

..are you asking to be talked into or out of ittis??

BG are ace I'm finding - but I have no affection for them. At all. They could fry in the wash for all I care. Now my treasured itti sml and med - those I stroke!

twoclimbingboys · 09/04/2009 17:06

just had yet another poop leak in an itti if that helps? full change of clothes etc
