Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I love bumbles for night!! often still have dry patches but si,ply have too many!! LOL

thebluefoxategreensocks · 31/03/2009 21:28

mumoftoby: No, no idea what baby is! But having had both a boy and a girl, I have loads of clothes and things for both, so guess I'm prepared either way! Nice to be surprised when it's born...but at the same time, the suspense makes me think what is it! Abigail (3y) and Benjamin (2y) go back and forth as to whether they want a brother or a sister...so I'm sure they'll be pleased whatever it is. Having said that, girls are certainly more fun to dress! LOL

Natty - sorry if this is obvious and you probably already know but you always need something on top of hemp? We use cotton for this sometimes as MF is no good at night so we always top with bamboo or cotton. I have some really small cotton boosters for example that add vertually no bulk but do absorb quickly, but because they are so small, I can add more hemp than if i say put a whole bamboo insert on top? Does that make sense? Ignore me if you already know all of this.

DD is in bed in her WNNN. I did sell it today but I haven't recieved the money for it yet so thought I would give it one last go before it goes, which means I have my UDNN for tomorrow night so one less night of disposables. Just hope that the person doesn't pay tonigt! The worse come to the worst though I will just wash first thing and tumble dry and then go to the post office myself (rather than DH as he leaves at 6.30am).

Rachel - Have you done anything to try and encourage labor? I am going to try a few of the old wives tales (the safe ones anyway) during the easter hols as that would solve all my childcare arrangements. Otherwise I might have to leave DD with MIL which I REALLY don't want to do. .

TheNatty · 31/03/2009 22:06

yeah soon i always put my thin bamboo toppers on top. mind you my ellas house i dont bother and ellen is fine in that with all hemp.. depends on baby i suppose.

4andnotout · 31/03/2009 22:07

Rachel I just read your last post as " no idea what a baby is" and thought to myself she really should know by now

soon2befamilyof4 · 31/03/2009 22:09

4 - I was wondering where you were.

Tree - do you know how much you want for the XS sandys? I had a sort through earlier and I don't actually have many really tiny nappies. I have loads of size 1s and smalls but nothing for if I have a small baby. DD was small but not too sure about this one! I am a lot bigger and can feel a lot more this time. Last time I was all water and hardly even felt DD kicking! This one is all baby! Hoping she isn't too big! I can only afford to buy them if I sell enough stuff. The first lot of funds are going on DDs night nappies as I want enough not to have to use any disposables.

Rachel - are you planning to use washable breastpads? I have some but not sure if they are ok to be washed with the nappies or if to put them with the normal washing? Normal washing seems the most logical but I don't want them all to get lost/seperated as there is so much washing everywhere all the time, where as the nappies are always in the same place and I know exactly how often they are washed etc. I remember having a few pairs before but never had any clean and ended up using disposables. They would just fall to the bottom of the washing basket!

swampster · 31/03/2009 22:13

I had the most expensive washable breast pad in the world - it got jammed in the pipe of my washing machine, blocked everything, got charged 60 squid!

Now I wash all my tiny things in laundry mesh bag thingies.

soon2befamilyof4 · 31/03/2009 22:16

Really? I have never been brave enough to try all hemp. I have never understood why Ellas house nappies are made with all hemp. I have some for sale if you are looking at all? I have a big list of nappies for sale in the for sale section of mumsnet.

soon2befamilyof4 · 31/03/2009 22:17

Oh no! Will defiantly use one of those bags now! You don't think washable wipes could do the same? Or baby socks?

swampster · 31/03/2009 22:23

They all go in the bag now...

mumoftoby · 31/03/2009 22:35

lol - at the most expensive breast pad in the world! I stupidly thought swampster meant silk lined etc

natty - I have used just hemp too with ella's house hemp nappy and bumhuggers and haven't had any problems either

soon trust your instincts if it feels like a big baby don't go too mad on xs's. In the last week or so of my pregnancy with DS2 I kept falling over (3x in total) because my bump was so large. Scans and my consultant said he was on the 50th centile - he was born weighing 10lbs 14ozs and really long! Luckily, I had resisted buying many newbie clothes as his legs were too long to ever fit in.

afterglow · 31/03/2009 22:39

mumoftoby ouch!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 31/03/2009 22:47

TheNatty: Did you find out if you had enough Paypal for the bamboo WNNN? Just checking, as I'm packing up the other nappies for posting in the morning, so thought I'd check so I can have them all ready!

4: LOL about what a baby is! Hopefully I know by now, since I was the oldest of 7 children...and soon to have 3 myself!

soon: No, not really tried anything, tho feeling like maybe I should! Wonder what's best?! LOL My mum always hated it when she tried castor oil - just made her miserable rather than helped labour start! So far, I'm just trying to stay active and been on my feet most of the day (food shopping in the morning, hanging out nappies & clothes after lunch, baking in the afternoon, then cooking dinner, and then just finished cleaning the fish tank out a few minutes ago!) But still no baby!

As for washable breast pads, I used them with my first child - as I had major oversuppy of milk which poor tiny Abigail couldn't cope with! I felt I had enough milk for twins, and she was a tiny wee thing who only liked to feed when she was ready for it - and in a quiet place! lol So they were essential with first one. However, I was tandem feeding last time (as Abigail hadn't weaned yet) so my oversuppy I felt was enough for twins was fab - the two of them emptied me nicely & never needed breast pads! However, Benjamin has weaned last month - so not sure what it will be like this time! Guess I should have mine handy just in case - not sure where they are!

TheNatty · 31/03/2009 22:48

omg i never thought of that, i wonder if my wipes would get lost in the pipes? ive got some really skinny boosters too!

im using those silicone breast pads, the ones u bung in the dishwasher? hope a few sets of them will save the whole breast pad thing as i hate the old milk smell they get..

TheNatty · 31/03/2009 22:49

rachel give me 10 mins to ring hubby hang on.. its his paypal. 8.50 right?

thebluefoxategreensocks · 31/03/2009 22:53

mumoftoby · 31/03/2009 22:54

TheNatty · 31/03/2009 22:55

thebluefoxategreensocks · 31/03/2009 23:05

treedelivery · 31/03/2009 23:11

Hello all,

Wont interfere with trading here [Wall Street has nothing on us ] just to day I have had fluffy post and am delighted. Fab nappies! Am most pleased with my purchases.

Also had leak free day in the freebee pop in, and also a fuzzi worn as a fuzzi not a wrap. Must be getting chunk thighs!

mumoftoby · 31/03/2009 23:15

natty - so you mean that you haven't sent money via paypal before other than via ebay? If so, just select 'send money', then 'personal', then 'gifted', fill in e-mail address and amount.
Sorry if I sound rude if that isn't what you mean.

TheNatty · 31/03/2009 23:19

thanks mumoftoby, thats what i meant! i wasnt sure wether to send gifted or as a payment.

ALL DONE!

ooo i should get it by weekend if ur posting tomorrow, that will be good. esp as i wont have to do the ususal 3 washes on it as its preloved

TheNatty · 31/03/2009 23:20

rachel have u got my address??

thebluefoxategreensocks · 31/03/2009 23:40

TheNatty: Sorry I didn't answer your question properly! Wasn't quite sure what aspect you were wanting to know, and also I don't like to tell people how to send payments - gifted is nice without the fees, but don't feel it's fair to demand gifted payments, like some people do!

And no, don't have your address! So if you can email it over to me, I can get it sent to you tomorrow.
