rusmum · 01/04/2009 10:50

Got my ittis!!!!!! how lovely are they!!
now just need to see if they are good!! LOL

i know we did this but how many outer/inners did we say would do alternate day washes

soon2befamilyof4 · 01/04/2009 11:45

I have had no fluffy post again . I really shouldn't have bought so many nappies all at once! I was getting several a day which was fab but now I feel like I am missing out! lol. Oh well. I do have my UD coming from Rachel, some woolies from another thread, some wool shorties that I know won't fit DD as I misread the measurements but will save for DD2, my lil stinkies but these were on a delay, and have just enquired about a BBOS. Oh and some inserts too.

Does anybody here use washable san pro? I have just bought one washable sanitary towel to try out but can't really decide how I feel on it all? I was thinking it would be easy as I could just shove in nappy bucket, but then realised that they would actually probably need a rinse before adding to nappies so would involve a seperate bin in the bathroom. My bathroom is very small and I already have 2 washing baskets, recycling bin, large nappy bin and cat litter tray and normal bin! lol. (it is downstairs - near washing machine). But I do like the idea of lovely soft fabrics rather than the nasty disposable crap.

rusmum · 01/04/2009 11:46

i use a mooncup!!! But fancied a couple of reusable pads for heaviest days (in case of leaks!!) where best to get??

soon2befamilyof4 · 01/04/2009 12:09

I don't know! I was thinking about getting a mooncup too as it would be a lot cheaper as I would just need the one. I won't be ordering tha yet though as I won't be able to use till at least 6 weeks post birth and then when ever periods return. Where as the pads I can wear postnally when the bleeding slows, and possibly during labour if my water leaks constantly like last time! I know it is a bit off topic but it is still along the same lines of washable nappies! Hope nobody minds!

afterglow · 01/04/2009 12:24

thenatty, do you have the lilypadz silicone ones? That's a brilliant idea to put them through the dishwasher. Not needing mine so much though, now that dd is just down to wake-up and bedtime feeds.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 01/04/2009 12:37

Nappies all posted out to soon mumtotoby and thenatty - so hopefully you'll all be getting fluffy post soon!!

My post lady had 5 parcels for me this morning - I think she'll be thinking I'm crazy! LOL

Got:
bright yellow Itti & extra inserts (for bump when bigger)

bright red Little Kiwi Quick Flip (to try as night nappy for Benjamin)

Babybufters night nappy with cute sun & moon print (also for Benjamin at night)

one size cotton velour Swaddlebees (also as possible night, though not sure it's quite the right shape - might be better for baby, since it folds down fairly small)

and some Tigger pyjamas for Benjamin, which someone from another forum kindly picked up for me from ASDA, as they have fold over mittens to help with Benjamin's night scratching.

So, a fun post day - on my due date - but no baby yet!

soon2befamilyof4 · 01/04/2009 12:48

I have some of those lillipadz too. I didn't really get on with them, but I know most people do. I will give them another go though this time.

Happy due date Rachel! And thanks for posting UD!

ChocOrange05 · 01/04/2009 13:12

Hi all

I was just browsing the internet for a new Imse Vimse wool wrap for my DS when I came across this ebay auction - its too small for us as we need medium but for anyone with newborns its a great nightime wrap and a bargain (usually £17)! HTH someone.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 01/04/2009 13:20

the listing actually says cotton - so you think it's cotton or wool?

Deemented · 01/04/2009 13:21

I use cloth san pro, and have a mini nappy bin down the side of the loo that i use to soak them in cold water in until i'm ready to wash them. To wash i usually throw them in with the nappies.

I don't have a mooncup, but i do have a jam sponge that i think is brilliant. So so much easier then a tampon - can't reccomend them enough.

Deemented · 01/04/2009 13:22

Oh, and i find eith wee notions, luxury moon, hollow oak or puddlepants great for buying cloth san pro.

ChocOrange05 · 01/04/2009 13:25

Oh damn - sorry guys, thanks rachel I never read things properly .

soon2befamilyof4 · 01/04/2009 14:22

How can a cotton wrap be waterproof? I don't get it? [confused tired emotion]

thebluefoxategreensocks · 01/04/2009 14:35

ChocOrange05: Don't feel bad! easy enough to get confused!

soon: will be a cotton wrap outer with PUL lined inside - though I find that they wick a bit more easily than all PUL wraps, if not made properly.

treedelivery · 01/04/2009 16:11

Hello all - busy here today!

Congratulations on due date rachelinscotland! Did you decide if you are using washables from start? Or is it Soon who isn't sure? Or am I raving?

So my fluffypost-

Lovemydog - am very excited about bb. It isn't really time to use it yet as sge's to small and not that heavy wetting yet due to age. But wil give it a go anyway!! Brill!

Cyteen - the nappies are pristine so thank you!

Have also recieved some size 2 fluff balls and micro's - oiut in sun to bleach out few stains. And some lovely to look at weenotions pocket type things. They don't look leak proof but they do look damn cute!

Does anyone else wish the nappymakers clearly labelled their nappies and inserts with brand and fabric type? Poor dh struggling to know his mf from his fleece, so he's no hope with cotton/bamboo/hemp!
Harriet went to bed in a blueberry minus any insert, with a me airflow over. Very waterproof but rather lacking in substance!

soon2befamilyof4 · 01/04/2009 16:39

Yes! tree I def wish they did that! I have so many inserts and I don't know what most of them are! Does my head in! I have a few nappies like it too. You would thinkthey would want their details on everything!
