Oh my God, I'm over an hour into 'screaming hour' (which is the term we use for the period of 7pm to about 11pm) and Elizabeth is asleep in her basket, not had a peep out of her. This CAN'T last!

BigBadMousey · 03/10/2008 20:15

lol at 'loose legs' - you want to screw them back in!

Ilovemydog - forgot about your kichen/diner situatiom. I accosted someone called Ilovemyflipflops earlier today on the nappy topic thinking they might be you - it's the sort of thing I do in RL too .

Rusmum - people get to be nappy experts either through a strange nappy addiction ('tis contagious so beware) or by trying almost every type in the quest for the perfect nappy. For me it was a bit of both. Now I work for my local nappy projects I have a lot of different nappies to hand so I can check exact measurements for people and that sort of thing. I tend to keep my ear to the ground a bit too - get asked a lot of odd Qs at antenatal groups and we have a lot of people who use cloth locally (because of living in a very low income area) and they often ask me to find a cheap solution to their needs. Cor...that was a bit of an essay - apologies - I would delete half of it but it took ages to type one handed

My FIL who is visiting this weekend has given MN the seal of approval so I might get away with being on here a bit more than I thought (not that I'm addicted of course! ). He did say 'I bet you're all on there slagging of your husbands'.....perish the thought FIL

right i think i might of figure dout why i don't get leaks with the bambino mios it was real hard to think about how i actually do it lol cos i am so used to doing it when i have fanned out the back and just about to nippa it i put the nippa as low down as posibble so the legs are smaller and tighter then when u move the nippa up higher the holes are alot bigger and baggier if thats not the reason why i don't get leaks i really do not know what else it is cos thats the only thing which i can think it can be lol

ilovemydog · 03/10/2008 21:56

essie - one week in y felinheli and 2 weeks near Pwhelli. My welsh spelling is appalling!!!

BBM - the kitchen is still a bit of a building site. DP is not impressed after we arrived back having moved out for 3 weeks. The idea being that between our builders and carpenter, they would be able to get all the work done, but it was rather ambitious. So, we have no water in the kitchen, no appliances and um, no refrigerator...

My DS is still in the same pattern of only sleeping if I am next to him. Oh, and no naps!!!

Laksa got the same email re: trying out new diaper... The mind boggles.

rusmum · 03/10/2008 21:56

EnchantedWithEdwardCullen · 03/10/2008 22:13

Hello!

Gosh this real nappy thing is so addictive isn't it??

I keep buying wraps and nappies!

Hopefully by the time i need the next size up I will know what I like and just stick to the one kind of nappy & wrap!

4andnotout · 03/10/2008 22:19

I posted your red spotted wrap today, it was 1st class so should be with you tommorow

EnchantedWithEdwardCullen · 03/10/2008 22:25

ooh fab thankyou :D

Ceolas · 03/10/2008 22:38

Anyone know what's changed with Bumgenius from V2-3? I spotted a bargain on ebay

4andnotout · 03/10/2008 22:41

I think it was the velcro they used for the tab as there were complaints about them losing their stickyness, i only have v2 and i haven't had any problems. Oh and v3 comes with 2 inserts rather than just 1.

ilovemydog · 03/10/2008 22:45

I tested the Bum Genius all in one (sized), which is infintely better imo, than than the V3 one size. The velcro does tend to get worn out.

LackaDAISYcal · 03/10/2008 22:50

the pocket on the V3 is bigger so easier to stuff and the construction is better at the front waist so less chance of wicking. Think the leg elastic is better too.

LackaDAISYcal · 03/10/2008 22:52

were you doing testing for M&B mag as well 4andnotout? or directly for tots?

I think it'll be some sort of all-in-one....like the flexitot but with a waterproof outer maybe?

ilovemydog · 03/10/2008 22:54

lacka - do you mean me?

Ceolas · 03/10/2008 22:59

Thanks. I'll sleep on it! We have a couple of V3s and they're doing well for us.

Does anyone store their used nappies in a wet bag rather than a bucket? We have the Mothercare 10l pail which doesn't quite hold 2 days worth. Also DD has a bit of an obsession with trying to get the lid off (especially when I'm in the shower! ). I was wondering about hanging a bag like this on the back of the bathroom door, but DH is worried about smells

LackaDAISYcal · 03/10/2008 23:00

erm...yes ilmd.....friday; late; pregnant brain...what can I say?

ilovemydog · 03/10/2008 23:09

Yes. M & B awards.

DS is finally back in his reusables after 2 weeks of being in disposables. Quite traumatic as he got this dreadful reaction to the chemicals. Never again.

LackaDAISYcal · 04/10/2008 10:44

ceolas, the bumph that cam with the modern babies happies said use a wet bag as the air that can get in and around the nappies helps to neutralise the smells, and said use a bag instead of a bucket.

We have had the opposite with nappies ILMD. After a few weeks in bambo sposies, DD's bum is finally clear for the first time in almost a year! I really want to try her back in reuseables but am scared of the consequences.

I am planning on putting the remainder of my size 2 nappies in the attic today for when we'll need them for the new baby

Had a really bad night and have had some worrying signs this morning, but very unsure as I've never gone into labour on my own before. pinkish discharge, feel like I'm going to come on, strong BH, and very hormonal and weepy.........I'm 35+2 and a bit worried.
