Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Morning all
Well i started dd4 in cloth yesterday and she is so tiny loads dont fit her yet so using muslins, terry squares, nippa tots and my 1 xs sandy, although she was 7lb she is tiny framed and is wearing tiny baby clothes
She is feeding well and have had my first experience of breastfed poo as all the other 3 were bottlefed! Had a horrible mw visit on saturday so hoping it is a better one today and that she will be a bit more helpful and positive! DD1 has an emergency dental appointment as she broke her front tooth in half yesterday walking behind a moving swing Nothing is ever quiet or simple here
Weather is gorgeous today so hoping to get dd4 out in her pram to try and clear her jaundice, have also put the nappies into wash so they can hang in the sun and try and prevent more stains!
My god i have waffled on......

babyjjbaby · 27/10/2008 08:48

Baby morning - i dint know how you do it, losing knack with prefolds i think. Are bamboozles quite slim??????

babyjjbaby · 27/10/2008 08:52

yeh bambvozzles are luvly and slim

returnofrusmummy · 27/10/2008 09:00

Think that will be my next port of call then... where best to look for 2nd hand ones????

They last longer than pre????

babyjjbaby · 27/10/2008 09:18

size 1 will last till 20lbs bout 9 mths

returnofrusmummy · 27/10/2008 09:25

are size 2 BTP nappies???

Would size 2 fit DD (13lb ish)

Do you think they more absorbant than cotton?????

returnofrusmummy · 27/10/2008 09:25

PS did your orange nappies leak??? I darent wash my pink ones with anything!!

wastingmyeducation · 27/10/2008 09:27

Congratulations 4andnotout! What happened with MW?

My Lollipop terries have arrived! They look lovely, thin, but not too scrappy. I've three days worth to wash today, but it looks like nice weather today, AND I've got two new airers to add to the two I already had, so I can wash and wash and wash! So hopefully report back on them soon.

I posted whether anyone knew of videos of nappy-folding, but thought I'd see if anyone on here knew?

xx

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 27/10/2008 09:29

rusmum - I have some bamboozles left if you are interested. I think they are supposed to last up to 18lb not 20lb but I doubt you would find they fit for that long tbh. My DD2 is tiny and was out of them by 7 months -I think TB say they fit from 0-6 months.

4andnotout for your horrible MW visit. Do you think they will be leaving you to it since she is your 4th? Well done with the BF - hope it goes well for you.

returnofrusmummy · 27/10/2008 09:31

thanks BBM but looking for size 2 i think!!!!!

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 27/10/2008 09:32

wastingmyeducation - yes there are videos somewhere online. I've got to go now but will hunt some down for you when I next get chance.

rusmummy - to Size 2 is 18lb -35lb and they are stragely not as good as the size 1. Lollipop bamboo are better for size 2 or bambinex etc. Avoid little lamb bamboo - very very thick and takes ages to dry - fab night nappies but not what you want I think.

ilovemydog · 27/10/2008 09:38

try this

wastingmyeducation · 27/10/2008 10:02

Aren't Bambino Mio prefolds?

xx

ilovemydog · 27/10/2008 10:26

Oh - did I get this wrong?

didn't know there were various ways of folding!

wastingmyeducation · 27/10/2008 11:11

I presumed that prefolds would fold differently to flat nappies. I can't watch those vids as don't have Windows Media Player on this laptop to see if it they fold differently.

xx

returnofrusmummy · 27/10/2008 11:20

pre folds fold differently as are rectangular and small in comparison to flats. You tube has a few examples of nappy folds for flats.

babyjjbaby · 27/10/2008 11:33

rusmum yeh they ran cos the flannel i put in wash went a slight shad of orange wished i hadn't done them now tbh cos it means i have got to waste a drum of washing just on 6 nappies

returnofrusmummy · 27/10/2008 12:01

oh dear, did you do your new ones too??

i throw my pink one in with darks wash (not nappiea) if that any help..

babyjjbaby · 27/10/2008 12:08

i wash all the clothes intogether so would still need to go in seperate

lollipopmothershalloweenghost · 27/10/2008 13:17

They won't run forever though I'm sure, it's probably just the surplus dye coming out of them.

My DD got her first nappy rash yesterday. Well it looked like it was a bit red anyway, and almost like welts or rubs on her leg but no idea why it might have come up. My mother-in-law did all the napppies yesterday but I don't think she would've done anything any different to me but DD did a lot more poos yesterday so maybe it was something I ate??

Anyway, had some nappy off time after bath last night and put some cream on, and then had a bit more nappy off time this morning which started with her having a massive wee within 30secs of me putting her down, and then followed up by a very liquid poo about 5 minutes later, she's such a little darling!

4andnotout · 27/10/2008 13:49

My normal mw came and visited today and was brilliant, the other one who came on saturday said i needed to think about bottle feeding dd4 as she is very slightly jaundiced, but my mw said today that she is fine and she watched her feed and was very pleased! The other mw was rude about how many kids i have and the fact that dd3 was messy as she had just had chocolate bar She really upset me at the time and i rang my mum in floods of tears but now im much more positive about everything.
I have just had a washing accident too, i put my pink jamas in the light wash and they have sent everything pink so im quickly re-washing everything and trying to get it all out..i really hate it when something leaks!
I dont think my nappies will be totally dry when they come in as it is freezing out there! We just got back from taking the baby out in the pram and taking the kids to the park and it is really cold!

FullMoonHowler · 27/10/2008 16:00

4 - that's soooo rude, as if you didn't have enough to do and worry about a couple of days after giving birth!?!?!

lollipop - how are the lovables compared to the wonderoo? The lady who was meant to sell me the wonderoo has disappeared, she was meant to get back to me on Friday, but nothing yet, so I'm a bit p*d off as I said I'd take what she had left , so thinking now of getting a couple of lovables (want some fleece lined for night time, but didn't want to spend much)

returnofrusmummy · 27/10/2008 16:08

all if there was only 1 nappy left on earth which would you want it to ba and why?? tricky eh??????
