IVF Pregnancy Club - now IVF Baby Club!

Hello again ladies!

The IVF Pregnancy Club thread was so helpful for me throughout my pregnancy — there’s nothing like the support of people who just get it. Now that our babies have started to arrive, I thought it would be nice to start a follow-on thread so we can keep chatting, sharing advice and supporting each other as we adjust to life with our little ones 🥰

pastelheart · 16/05/2026 07:15

magpie234 · 16/05/2026 18:57

I am still battling on with feeding here… it feels so relentless ngl. Got an osteopath appt on Tues so hoping for progress then. Truly desperate to reach whip-a-boob-out nirvana as all the equipment prep and general chaos is 😩

FancyGoose · 16/05/2026 23:02

@magpie234 sorry you're struggling with BF. Is it latching that is the challenge? I definitely know what you mean with all the prep...the pumping and sterilising, especially overnight, was such a ball ache when I was exclusively pumping! Hope the osteopath can help!

dubkitten · 16/05/2026 23:03

Thanks for setting up the thread! Will be great hearing about all the babies as they progress and helping each other out

AmberRose26 · 17/05/2026 08:36

@magpie234 hoping this will settle soon for you ! Does baby take a bottle ok or is it your milk supply ? I think there are supplements /herbs you can get to help stimulate your milk supply? Also, my sister had trouble breastfeeding it was her nipples that we’re getting really sore, she used nipple shields that helped not sure if they would help ? You probably have no doubted tried all these but just thought ad mention incase it can help at all ?! .. 🤷🏼‍♀️💛 did you harvest colostrum before baby was born ?
keep up the amazing work you are doing amazing for trying and persevering ! And if it doesn’t work out that’s ok as-well and really common, I hope you can find a happy comfortable that’s best for you 💛

CloudyIvy55 · 17/05/2026 10:08

@magpie234sorry that breastfeeding is such a struggle. Your doing an amazing job to keep trying... I imagine its exhausting! Keep going as long as you want but also know its 100% fine to decide enough is enough also x

Thanks girls. Supply is established and strong! Following a strict pumping regime from pretty much birth that I have hated. But grateful for the milk being there. Issue is the latch - far too shallow. Using shields which is helping her sometimes take a bf but adding faff and she still sometimes compresses my nipples. They think she has jaw tension so going to the osteo on Tuesday. Then getting a lactation consultant over to the house for an hour and a half to give a full assessment and hopefully help us turn a corner 🙏🏻

@AmberRose26 I did collect colostrum in syringes before birth yes which I was grateful to have in the hospital so I could give her something as well as formula before my milk came in.

SarahAndQuack · 17/05/2026 11:09

Good luck with it, @magpie234! It sounds as if you are a warrior on this one! Hope you get some good help with the latch.

CloudyIvy55 · 17/05/2026 12:23

Sounds like a plan @magpie234 hope the osteo and consultant can help things progress.

Our main issue is that the little one wont sleep anywhere else but on us. We got 20 mins in the next to me last night which is the best we've done. I am currently awake 12 - 6am everynight with him to try and let DH sleep for work - which isnt sustainable I know. I'm considering co sleeping which is something I thought I would never do but we are 3 weeks in and I'm lucky to get 4-5 hours sleep in 24 hours.

@magpie234 ah ok, sounds like you are getting all the support put in place which is really good, all the best for the upcoming appointment and hopefully things will progress 💛

@CloudyIvy55 you must be so tired with the lack of sleep, hopefully the co parenting goes well, you can feed also while they lie next to you so it’s less disruption you can pop them on the boob while your lie there 😅 quite handy hehe

CloudyIvy55 · 17/05/2026 19:50

Also...its my first day alone with the baby tomorrow with my partner working 10am - 9pm!! And I'm suddenly full of anxiety about it!
