Omg thank you @Yellowbeansontoast
I really appreciate your response.
As I said, I really didn't mean to barge in on your thread!

Unfortunately no space whatsoever; tiny 1 bed flat, so divide is impossible. We are night owls, usually bed around 12ish, usually up between 9-10am. I have just convinced dh to turn off tv (70in!!) around 9pm so baby can wind down. He seems to think our son should adjust to us, not vice versa.

I should add I have BPD, depression & fibromyalgia & dh is my carer.
He's a remarkable man, we've been best friends for 20 years, he's a wonderful husband & in some ways an amazing dad. But he's also the type who lets our boy sleep on his chest & microwaves baby food because he doesn't take guidelines seriously, whereas I believe research & read up on everything I can & try to implement it. But because I'm so physically restricted I'm reliant on him.
Result: no routine, too many feeds, too little tummy time, interrupted sleep & one very stressed/guilty mama Confused

Smafa · 16/07/2021 10:09

Thanks for that @Kj1010 Smile
You do all seem lovely!

Jwl45 · 16/07/2021 19:38

@Smafa hi. I agree... Don't think or worry that you're on the wrong group. It's a great group to get things off your chest .. which we all need at times.dont feel guilty. 😊
We have now 3 teeth on the bottom and 4 on the top... Where did they suddenly come from?!

Aww we still have just the 1 tiny tooth!

How's everyone coping with the heat? What are you putting your LO's to bed in?
I've been putting Tommy to bed in his pjs with no blankets, we leave the fan on it the bedroom but it's still so hot.

@Smafa would it be possible to set your LO's cot up in the bedroom? So that in the evenings he's in his own space.

Smafa · 19/07/2021 01:11

Hi @kkr168
I should've mentioned, sorry; the tiny "bedroom" is a professional recording studio, hubs is a musician & I'm a voice actor. Absolutely no space at all - our bed is next to the sofa, opposite the crib, which is between the kitchen & a giant tv...

I'm so not made for the heat. Feel like I'm melting! It saps me of what little energy I have! LO sleeping in cotton romper, no blanket. Today just the nappy, he was so hot he was yelling Sad I put him on his water-filled tummy time mat,on top of a large muslin & he cooled right down, & fell asleep for a good hour or so. Wink

Hope everyone else hasn't melted! & stay safe. 💜

Kj1010 · 19/07/2021 07:51

Morning my lo sleeping in just a nappy as its way to hot for anything else that's how he stays during the day to unless we go out then I put a vest on him or shorts and a light top

OP posts:
Jwl45 · 19/07/2021 10:05

🌞🌞🌞hot hot hot.
Yesterday Elsi was in nappy only until we got in the paddling pool - I did put her uv on as was so hot and there was no shade at all.
I did buy light strappy vests .. but this week, even they're off. It's just light clothes and nappy.
The sleeping bag is gone - too hot, so she just sleeps in her footless babygrow/ romper.

MaverickDanger · 19/07/2021 14:28

So so hot at the moment! DS has decided this is the week to learn how to crawl properly, pull himself up on things and cruise around on the furniture - he’s not 7 months for another 10 days!

Poor kid is getting even hotter with all that moving around, he just won’t stop.

We had three wake ups last night which was an improvement on the previous nights.

Since 3.5 months he seems to have gone from one thing to another affecting his sleep. We don’t go a night without us putting him in our bed at some point and on a bad night, our evenings are spent up and down the stairs trying to get him to sleep. I had a really smug message from a relative with a baby a month older than DS saying her baby sleeps 12 hours non stop and do I think I should take DS to a specialist to see what’s wrong with him Hmm

Hope everyone’s doing well!

Yellowbeansontoast · 21/07/2021 18:24

@Smafa I saw this today and thought of your situation, maybe you'll find some of the tios helpful!

We're melting over here, been trying to get to the beach when we can, other than that spending every afternoon in the paddling pool. To make things even more fun, LO has cut his top two teeth now as well 🙈

No crawling still but he's pushing himself backwards now.

Jwl45 · 21/07/2021 19:10

@maverickDanger...... 😳 To your family member! I can't believe that! I'm sure you've tried all sorts to get him to sleep... I bet you're shattered. All babies are different... And I'm sure your little one's sleep pattern will settle. Hang in there X

MaverickDanger · 21/07/2021 20:28

Thanks @Jwl45 luckily I know what she’s like so just laughed it off. Told her we’ve been told that advanced babies don’t sleep well because they are doing things like cruising at 6.5 months Grin wouldn’t normally be such a dick, but two can play at that game.

He’s such a good baby. I don’t think waking up 3-4 times in 12 hours and pretty much going straight back to sleep is too bad for a breastfed baby.

Jwl45 · 21/07/2021 20:34

@MaverickDanger this made me chuckle!! Good for you! 😂😂
Ah love him. I think that's great for a breastfed baby! 😊X

kkr168 · 22/07/2021 14:11

Tommy cut his 2nd bottom tooth, crazy how it differed from his other tooth, we literally had no signs it was coming! Just went to sleep with 1 tooth & woke up with 2 Grin
I've now been putting him to bed in just a nappy & thin t-shirt, no blankets & the fan on, he seems to be sleeping much better.
He's now down to 1 night feed, anytime between 1 & 4am, it's been over a week now so don't think it's a fluke this time🤞

@MaverickDanger great response

Smafa · 25/07/2021 19:29

Thanks so much @Yellowbeansontoast
I appreciate that 💜

xmasbaby20 · 26/07/2021 14:22

My LO turned 7 months on Saturday and 2 little teeth popped through 🙊 great response @MaverickDanger I will definitely be using that one too 😋 we had to buy a big playpen as he has started crawling much to the dogs horror. Today we are trying 2 naps instead of 3, the past week or so he has really fought the 3rd nap so think it's time to drop it. Hope you are all getting on ok!

Jwl45 · 26/07/2021 14:40

The cot is finally arriving today... I finally got around to ordering a cotbed from Kiddies Kingdom. I haven't decorated a. Nursery as such....covid came etc... I was also so indecisive...still am... I think also it was newly papered as we moved in .. white with great big turquoise flowers 🤔 Nice enough as a spare room...but not for Elsi.
I'm thinking of painting over the paper for now... And then doing a greater better job when she's old enough to tell me what room she wants etc.
We are no diy-ers and the thought of stripping all that paper off daunts me.
Any inspiration I would be grateful... 😊

Kj1010 · 26/07/2021 15:59

@Jwl45 if you follow Stacey Solomon on Instagram she is decorating her little girls room at the minute so you might get some inspo there. Our baby room is clouds and stars theme as the room was grey the white accessories went really well in it Smile

Kj1010 · 30/07/2021 12:01

Hi all can I ask if your lo are still drinking milk and how much my little lenny isn't drinking that much lately like he has 7oz first thing in morning 6/7am then will have breakfast around 10 am with bottle aswell bottle first only drinks around 2/3 oz and then I give him his food weetabix with banana or blueberries etc then he plays for a good few hours then has a power nap like 10 minutes etc try him with a bottle again will drink 2/4 ounces then spits out doesn't want anymore lunch will have sausage and beans toast eggs etc all different will try him with water or juice then again play for a while another power nap has dinner what ever we eat then a bottle for bed which sometimes drinks whole 7oz or can be like 5 oz he eats very very well throughout the day and gets a good amount of nutrition from all food I do offer him bottles though out the day but I'm just basically wasting formula and money really just wondering what's everyone's else babies drinking roughly I think my boy on a rough scale is like around 20 to maybe 23 0z

OP posts:
Jwl45 · 30/07/2021 12:45

@Kj1010 hia. Elsi usually has 3 6oz bottles a day. Sometimes 4.
One first thing, I stopped giving her the 10-30 /11am one as she just falls asleep without it (this is nap time usually) .
I give one around 3 ish maybe and then before sleep at around 6-30/7pm. When I last spoke to HV she said oh is she on around 3 bottles (at time it was 4) so she said 3 was fine. (I did tell her it was 6oz). She does have a variety of fruit, veg, yoghurt

Yellowbeansontoast · 30/07/2021 20:31

Hi @Kj1010 mine isn't a good comparison as my LO still doesn't eat solids, he's only tolerated chicken, parsnips and coconut, but even then he doesn't eat huge amounts - 4 or 5 teaspoons and then refuses anymore. He has around 5 bottles/day at 7oz each, so around 35oz total.

Kj1010 · 30/07/2021 20:39

Thanks for your response @Jwl45@Yellowbeansontoast so far today he has had 14 oz of milk but has had breakfast readybŕek lunch sausage roll cucumber a few crisps couple biscuits and dinner has had mince meat onions peppers cucumber tomatoes coleslaw chips cheese and a bit of tortilla bread he will prob have around 5 oz of milk at bedtime maybe drink the 7 oz my hv are still not seeing ppl for just routine only vulnerable I'm not overly concerned as he doesn't look under nourished and is very active now nearly crawling just wondering I suppose

OP posts:
kkr168 · 31/07/2021 18:51

@kj1010 Tommy's milk varies, depends on how much food he's eaten. Some days he just refuses to eat more then 2 spoonfuls other days he's ravenous.
On the days he refuses food he has 6 x 6oz bottles, he usually only drinks 4-5oz of that, except his last bottle where he'll drink it all.
On days he eats more he still has around 5 bottles!

It varies child to child, my cousins baby is 1 month older & only has 3 x 7oz bottles a day.

We've got a new little issue at the moment, Tommy will be exhausted but as soon as he gets into his cot it's suddenly playtime! He'll stand up & walk all around the cot, while talking to himself. He'll 'play' for a good hour, before laying down to sleep, I'm wondering if it's the 7 month sleep regression.

Kj1010 · 02/08/2021 08:27

@kkr168 thanks yeah I suppose your right lenny eats very well every day I do have a good eater and yesterday he drank well aswell maybe a phase I'm not going to worry as he is eating a varied amount and has all sorts from veg to fruits etc his not losing weight etc I'm lucky in the sleep department wen it's bedtime he goes straight to sleep only problem I have he won't go down till 10 /10.30pm lol but wakes between 6/8am his front tooth finally popped and the other isn't far off so 6 teeth and he is near on crawling now even though I feel once he masyers that he will go straight to trying to walk its going so fast and I'm suckung up every little thing as his my last baby ever
