How many of you have a 3 year old who sleeps through the night and stays in their own bed?

Hi,

I have a 3 year old and he has not slept through the night in his own bed since July.
We have tried several things several times but after a few days we give in as we are so tired and it’s easier to let him in. It’s now got to the stage where I can’t take anymore and am sick of being woken up, kicked and not sharing a bed with my husband.

My husband thinks that most 3 years don’t sleep through and it’s not uncommon for them to sleep in their parents bed. Is he right?

Thanks in advance.

Slept through in her own bed since 6 months old.

Yes unless poorly. She does wake us for a drink and dreams

My three year old does, unless she’s sick or has had a nightmare. I didn’t réalise we were lucky that way, tbh.

Same! Honestly didn't realise it was so common not to be sleeping through in their own bed. DS is almost 3 and has slept in his own bed in his own room since 4 months, except for illness (and even then sometimes when he gets up in the morning there's dried sick in his bed cos he's apparently spelt through it 🤷‍♀️). Transition from cot to bed about 9 months ago was relatively pain free also, about a week or so of getting out screaming at bed time but we did rapid return and once he settled was absolutely fine. Goes to bed like a dream now.

Hoping getting rid of the bedtime dummy will be just as smooth 🤞🏻
