Does anyone know a 'yummy-mummy'? Are you one?

I don't think I know any. I know some young mums who are pretty and slim (but not hugely conscious of it or flaunting it). I know some older mummies who are not really yummy (inc myself in that group!) but have all the gadgets (don't include myself in that group). Maybe it's my postcode...

But what exactly IS a yummy mummy and where do they come from?

Lots here in cheshire
Not me though...i am scummy mummy

Hmm, am definitely not a yummy mummy as work full time so no time for day time lunches with friends or manicures and hair is a constant battle. Am wondering if DH (who is a SAHD) is a yummydaddy though? Any criteria for that?? He occasionally does lunch with some of the mums from the baby art group so would that count? Have banned him from doing odd jobs at their houses until our DIY at home is complete though...

My sister is, she has 4 very lovely boys and is slim, has beautiful clothes and hair, wears make-up and finds time to shave her legs.

I am like a polar opposite.

slim22 · 03/04/2007 17:35

sockmonkey, sounds like my sister......and mine is 10 years older than me.....

DeviousDaffodil · 03/04/2007 17:54

Isn't it better to be a good mummy than aspire to the media stere types?

NannyL · 03/04/2007 18:55

i was told i was a yummy mummy by some random person in the street!

the things is i am not a mummy!!!

tho of course lots of people assume my charges are my own!

MuffinMclay · 03/04/2007 20:50

The ones I've met in RL have a nanny (but don't work), a cleaner, a gardener, send older children to boarding school etc. No wonder they have time to go to the gym, have endless facials, buy fabulous clothes, and spend hours doing their hair and applying make-up.

nannyjo · 03/04/2007 20:53

i've benn told i am a yummy mummy but i sure as heck don't feel like it.

IntergalEGGticWalrus · 03/04/2007 20:55

I'm about as yummy as the rotting contents of my bin

MerryMarigold · 03/04/2007 21:05

Walrus, I agree. My personal expression is a bit more disgusting: I feel like pants - with poo on them!

whats a MILF??????

LostMe · 03/04/2007 21:18

Apparently it's 'Mothers I would like to F**k' but I didn't know either until someone posted an explanation earlier on this thread. I am simply a scummy mummy but would love to look more yummy! Unfortunately I spend my days cleaning up breakfast, sick, cats poo, lunch, etc, etc so IMO it's not going to happen any time soon!

NannyL · 03/04/2007 21:24

my old boss IS a proper yummy mummy .... (IMO)

perfect house, husband, car, figure, personality, etc etc etc.... and had a nanny / cleaner / gardner / etc etc

and a t shirt that says I am a yummy mummy

eldest children are now at boarding school!
