Jesse for a boy - nice name or mental cruelty?

OK so I seem to be having a boy. Had a gorge girls name picked out but the only boys name DH and I love is...Jesse. I have had some positive reactions where we live but v extreme negative reaction from my northern family anf friends. Honest opinion please - yess or nooooooooo?

I really like it too - I think that while our generation might think "you big jessie", his peer group won't have heard that.

I think it is a very cool name!
