Yeah I didn't even get it for a middle name! Why didn't I think of that !!!

Baysmum · 08/03/2007 23:19

Going to bed - please add any more suggestions if you have any thoughts - i need to bond with this little boy and a name would be a great start.

I think Jesse is a gorgeous name!

steinermum · 08/03/2007 23:26

nice name, but wouldn't he get 'you big jessie' when he's older?

steinermum · 08/03/2007 23:29

Has anyone put their own son's name on here to see what people say about it? I'm so tempted, but I remember how livid I was at FIL's reaction to our choice, so I'd better not

NotanOtter · 08/03/2007 23:31

ooohhh go on steiner

monty1997 · 08/03/2007 23:34

Hi there love the name. Live in the north and know someone who was going to call their baby the same, howeve they had girl so couldn't. we had a bay boy in January and called him Jonah - some thought it was odd or strange ( including my MIL) but who cares we love it and it suits him.

Go for it i say.

Thanks Hatrick. I first heard it on 'Northern Exposure', a doctor called Joel Fleischmann and I just fell in love with the name

choosyfloosy · 09/03/2007 00:05

ah, Joel is fantastic

except that people still have trouble pronouncing it - do you find that? after listening to an old friend say jo-el like the first no-well all weekend, I finally burst out with 'do you think you could possibly manage to say Joel as in pole' and she said she couldn't hear the difference. Odd IMO.

steinermum · 09/03/2007 00:08

yes, he's always having to spell it out and there are no products with his name on. I was sure it would become more popular but he's 10 now ....So, that's settled then. The OP must call her son Joel.

steinermum · 09/03/2007 00:10

Going to bed now, but feeling the love. My Joel's going to be really chuffed when I show him this thread. Now noone's allowed to bitch about the name once I've gone.

Baysmum · 09/03/2007 09:20

Cant do Joel - my bf just had a DS and used that name - sorry x

I know of an American boy called Jesse. I always thought it was a lovely name. i don't know how it would age, though.

wheelybug · 09/03/2007 09:31

I have no strong opinions on Jesse either way - if you like it go for it and don't listen to anyone else.

But, if you're still looking for suggestions - how about Hector ? I love it but it doesn't go with our surname so we could never use it so am determined to mention it on every boy's name thread in the hope there will one day lots of little Hectors running around . Mind you, the only thread where it was liked was a dog's name thread .

Baysmum · 09/03/2007 10:04

Hector is right in that it is unusual but not too unusual but not quite right for us. Nice though (esp for a dog)!!

Love it love it love it

Would like it for DS2 if it ever happens but our surname is James and poor little bugger would be followed by dodgy Cher songs all his life (amongst other stuff)
