Does anyone know if I can clear it myself or will we need a plumber? It's just filling up too much when you flush it, and then not all the water drains away. Thought of various reasons, then realised we have been getting different liners lately as have cancelled our nappy laundry service - and looking at the packet, the Boots disposable nappy liners are NOT flushable WTF is the point of that?

i know someone whose loo literally backfired, after years of oil/fat being poured down it (by previous owner, unbeknown to them )..the shit literally hit, well everything

FrannyandZooey · 08/08/2006 13:23

LOL OO and bundle.

No I can see the funny side as well OO. Telling a load of strangers about my poo problems is really quite good for the soul

Have just remembered when I was about 13 my friend's toilet backed up and they had to get Dynorod out. Me and my friend sat upstairs peeking out of the window at the fit rodding men (oo-er ) and I remember being literally helpless with laughter at seeing actual whole bits of poo! That had come from my friend's and her mum's bottom! Coming out of the drains and rolling down their driveway!

My friend lived in a house backing on to Man City's carpark and once when they looked out the back yard was full of poo and tampons, flowing out under the gate!!! Her and her housemate had to wait around whilst a plumber cleared it all up.
That'll teach 'em to flush tampons, eh??

I have a feeling this will teach me to start poo-related threads, as well. Dp gleefully pointed out the huge proliferation of sweetcorn in the drain outside our house

It is not looking good. The longer rods have not achieved anything so far. He is doing this in daylight this time in full view of the street OH GOD THE SHAME

There is sweetcorn bobbing everywhere and some of it has been up my bottom

does it stink?

robinpud · 08/08/2006 20:20

So tomorrow you will face the humiliation of a lurid orange van outside the house...
Have you tried your local environmental health first??

FrannyandZooey · 08/08/2006 20:23

Bizarrely it does not stink

How can that be?

Yes, but better the shame of the lurid orange van, than dp out there up to his elbows in shit for a third evening running. Bet all the neighbours have been thinking "PHONE DYNOROD you skanky cheap bastards"

Crap food just disintegrates in your bowels Franny ; remember this the next time you reach for a packet of wholemeal anything.

anyway it's not quinoa or lentil missiles we want.. it's the brown stuff

LOL Cod

I do have new found respect for dp though

you haven't lived till you've seen the father of your child knee deep in sewage with a 20 foot rod in his hand

CitizenFranny · 08/08/2006 21:12

I should have gone out and proposed

Ah well, I always think of these things too late

CodGuevara · 08/08/2006 21:12

"with a 20 foot rod in his hand "
oh YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS

CheTeepee · 09/08/2006 08:33

Is it cleared yet Franny? BTW the reason your upstairs loo was still working was possibly because it was at a higher level - would probably stop eventually

CitizenFranny · 09/08/2006 13:13

Still awaiting the man in the tangerine van

I may go out for the afternoon in fact I may just move house

On the phone we were told that flushing things that shouldn't be flushed will probably be classed as "abuse of the system" and more money charged accordingly
