My nappies arrived today, they're so lovely, DD wanted to see them in action so ran to fetch me one of her dolls to put it on, the nappy made the doll do the box splits which she found highly amusing.

The nappies are so lovely, even DH really likes them.

rrreow re storage, I plan to have a shelf above the changing table so the nappies can be stacked up ready to just grab one, but then my nappies are a AIO so will stack nicely. What nappies do you use?

rrreow · 20/04/2013 14:23

Actually PP I think you've solved my problem. I have one of those shoe hangie things already in my wardrobe, I'm using it currently (although only 2 slots for shoes, the rest are just filled with crap) but can re-allocate it for nappies and then just use the two small drawers in the changing table for nappies (1 drawer for each child) and put all the rest in the closet in the shoe thing!!

NappyHappy · 20/04/2013 16:45

Good plan! Ive just listed a load of wraps and that on the pl fb page. Sold a geny wrap and some crunchy itti's! Ill stick the rest on Ebay if they don't sell on there.

NH (or anyone) let me know if you want rid of size 2 bamboo. We're not quite needing it yet but i like to be prepared! Still changing on 2nd feed, but that's gradually getting later - 4:50 this morning - so i suspect he's gearing up to drop it completely please please please tonight and will therefore go through on one nappy...

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 20/04/2013 23:59

I sold all my size 2's a few months ago but am on the look out for you. Smile

You mean you are on 1 wake a night? Envy

Still 3 here Sad every 3-4 hours.

PurplePidjin · 21/04/2013 02:59

1 a night between 8:30 and 4:45 Wink not exactly the 7-7 one is told they should be doing! Although tonight he went down at 8:10 and woke at 2:25...

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 21/04/2013 05:00

Oooh, not jealous much!

Thats great though. I get the look too when I mention how much he wakes at this age.

11pm 1am and now Hmm

Good boy Baby Pidj!! Smile

NappyHappy · 21/04/2013 05:18

So if anyone says ff babies sleep better, here is proof they dont Grin

PurplePidjin · 21/04/2013 05:59

He went down at 2 and woke at 5:45. I'm being greedy trying to get another hour! And yes, ebf here. Can't wait for weaning now :o

Apparently the difference is 5.27(?) minutes, and bf mothers get better quality sleep Hmm

I blame the woolies, myself Wink

Hello everyone! I've just got some cloth to try on my toddler from. the Nappy Lady. They came yesterday and Ive pre washed them twice already and left them to dry in the airing cupboard, so I'm hoping I can use them today/tonight. I'm 15 weeks pregnant with DC7, so hoping I can use DD as a 'practice' and then use cloth with the baby.

Lexi, I've got a bumgenius free time to try as well as a couple of bamboozle stretchies and some boosters. I've got some reusable wipes to try too. I really like the look of the freetime and I'm thinking DH will prefer them for in the day.

Can I just ask what others did at the hospital? I'm thinking cloth isn't really going to be possible so I might need to use disposables then, I don't mind doing that but I was hoping there was a solution.

BuffyFairyTopsTheTree · 21/04/2013 09:42

NH I hate moths. I would have screamed very loudly at that!

Rrreow, that's good to hear on the Alva nappies. I ordered a minky and a bamboo one to try a couple of weeks back. Should be here soon Smile

I got some fluffy post this week. I bought some extra boosters as they take the longest to dry. The pocket nappies dry quickly. Just waiting on another parcel and my stash will be big enough to go full time. Grin

Hi Midori. Sorry I can't help with your question. I came late to the fluffy side.

NappyHappy · 21/04/2013 10:01

Hi Midori!! I used sposies til his cord fell off, I put fluff on him but they were too right round his stump and I was a bit precious about it Blush

Oooh Pidj, you are doing fab. Which weaning route are you taking? Ds3 is definitely not a blew candidate he really pukes as soon as it hits the back of his throat so I've been batch making his food once a week using a mouli/food mill then just changing the blades evert few months.

Are you 'eck greedy for wanting another hour, this Sunday and a requirement!

A Mama Knows is selling 4 nappies for £33.80 including postage, has anyone used them?

If ds3 is still waking this much by 10m I'll give him water through the night and see how we go.

NappyHappy · 21/04/2013 10:03

Buffy, you would have pissed your pants if you saw me. The back lawn is full of spiders so that will be fun mowing that in the week.

midori1999 · 21/04/2013 10:19

Thanks everyone. Smile

I think I'm going to chuck myself in at the deep end... Nappies are dry and we're off out for lunch today, so I'm going to pop the freetime on DD and take a bamboozle and some disposables as spare. I want to try the other bamboozle overnight. I'm also taking the reusable wipes... I'm a bit nervous about leaks, but I suspect I'm being paranoid.... Hopefully...

And ewww at spiders, luckily either my cat or dogs seem to eat them before I see them...

NappyHappy · 21/04/2013 11:10

They're hidden in the weeds and grass, its not been cut since August! Its only a few inches long thankfully

I've just hung the fluff out and now pacifying an upset baby because I left him for 10mins!

What age did yours cut down/stop Grin the night feeding?

rrreow · 21/04/2013 11:28

Ick spiders! And moths I actually think I have a moth phobia. I am irrationally scared of butterflies too.

midori good luck! One thing though, if you've prewashed twice I wouldn't expect the bamboozle to last overnight yet. Daytime should be fine though. The microfibres should be fine too. Bamboo takes 8-10 washes to reach full absorbency.

This weather is AMAZING. Would love to put my nappies outside today but will have to see if I can. There is a load of crap on the landing in front of the door to the roof terrace and the door is slightly botched so only opens when it's not too damp.

midori1999 · 21/04/2013 12:32

Thank you, I didn't think of that. DD isn't a heavy wetter at all, but maybe night time is a bit ambitious after only two washes... Blush

I've forgotten to bring the wet bag out with us, so have had to send DH in to Asda for a couple of carrier bags... Blush talk about defeating the object....

I'm glad someone has beautiful weather, it's wet and windy here, we're waiting for the garden fence to be fixed, it's nearly blown down!

PurplePidjin · 21/04/2013 12:44

I didn't get it until 9 when dp took him down to play

Probably a mix, porridge for breakfast as that's what we have then appropriate versions of other meals - blw for sandwiches, puree for stew etc... Another month till we start Shock

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 21/04/2013 15:50

Its raining now but im leaving them out for a bit longer. Wink

A month away? Shock Shite. Its all going so fast Hmm

Poundland is the place to go for freezable storage pots. Messy but funny times Grin

PurplePidjin · 21/04/2013 17:25

Going to try him in the cot tonight

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 21/04/2013 18:15

Sad you'll be OK. I nearly cried when I cut ds2's hair last week. As much as next stages are fantastic its a bit Sad as they're growing up.

I've got a very whingey woo baby today, he can't make up his mind what he wants.

Uh oh, now a crying toddler Grin oh, its now stopped. Grin

Are the longies doing their thing OK?

PurplePidjin · 21/04/2013 18:47

I've had a grot bag today too. Possibly my fault, i dropped the stick blender on my toe making soup for lunch and it hurts so I'm a bit stressed.

Longies are fab, them plus tee shirt, socks and sleeping bag make for a snuggly sleepy baby. Send me a jumper and I'll make you some?

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 21/04/2013 22:42

I luffs you.Grin I'll go on the hunt for a jumper when I get paid at the end of the month. My final pay Sad . Thanks!

Ouch! That has got to have really hurt!

Grobags are brilliant, Tescos are a fave in this house!

How is the cot situation?

NappyHappy · 21/04/2013 22:45

I've so read your last post wrong! Fatigue is my hallucinogenic!

Are you still stressed now? Thankfully its bedtime soon and tomorrow will be different!

PurplePidjin · 22/04/2013 00:45

Hunt the charity shops - you want hand wash only wool.

Less stressed now, but he did 7:30-12 so it's gonna be a looooooong night Sad
