Hi Protege, are you all well? Hmm, could it be a wire from a bra? What are you going to do if it is well and truly broke?

I've not seen the Nappy Hunt fab things, I don't think anyway?! The Nappy Week page has lots of prizes on the go.

I managed to get all the nappies out on the line today.

PurplePidjin · 07/04/2013 03:15

I'm on 2nd wake, nh, an improvement at the moment!

Haven't seen a hunt, only the clothopoly thing? Washer could be a wipe or sock in the pipe...

rrreow · 07/04/2013 14:34

Welcome binkybonk, it is horribly addictive isn't it? I'm sitting on my hands until DS2 is born and then I'll probably start feeding the addiction again..

NappyHappy · 07/04/2013 15:22

Excellent!! I still need to get the rest of mine sold.

Where did you sell them?

binkybonk · 07/04/2013 15:34

Purplepidjin- what's a wrap sling?!! I probably NEED one now and will be up all night perusing eBay and FB groups to get one...
rrreow- so addictive- started off doing this to be eco and save money but have spent the majority of my maternity pay (only get paid for 6wks here Confused) on poo catchers! Damn damn the person who introduced me to those FB groups....

PurplePidjin · 07/04/2013 15:41

Facebook group. Although i got my wrist slapped, i bunged a load up when i finally got 5 minutes and apparently you're only allowed 5 at a time. Now i need to work out which 5 they've left Hmm

Anyone want nb fitteds and white wraps/pockets in the first 3 sizes?

binkybonk · 07/04/2013 16:30

Purplepidjin it is 11.28pm here and I am googling storchenweige... Shock
I have a boba already but the lady in the very specialised a bit intimidating wrap shop in this 'hood looked down her nose at me at simply handed me a voucher for money off 'your next choice of wrap' Smile Clearly not a wrappers wrap Wink
I like them Ellaroos it has to be said, but they work out at £80 here!! ;-)
Only prob is DS1 hated any wrap or carrier which smothered nestled him against my sweaty cleavage, so am currently trying to convince DS2 that this is fun as we go on walk about in 32degrees, 88% humidity....

binkybonk · 07/04/2013 16:31

You were right pp- I do need a storchenweige x

NappyHappy · 07/04/2013 16:36

5 at a time? Mumble. Did you make a profit??

Where are you Binky?

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 07/04/2013 17:51

Hi binky! It is soooo addictive... Honestly my DH does not know how many nappies we have and I keep hiding them... BFG I ordered one in a size 3 too! Grin the £5 offer ends today.. PP I'm glad dd is too big for a sling or doubtless I'd be wasting all my cash investing in a few of those too...!

Where are you binky?

Hurrah for sunshine - finally! - and washing on the line. Always puts me in a good mood Smile

PurplePidjin · 07/04/2013 18:29

Or a didymos. Or an Ellevill. Or a Wrapsody. Or an Oscha...

I'm thinking of getting a Kari-Me for DS2. Any thoughts?

PurplePidjin · 08/04/2013 01:40

Love love love love love my stretchy. He was in it at 1 day old on the ward, so much nicer than the goldfish bowls they make you push around!

OP posts:
PurplePidjin · 08/04/2013 08:43

R is having nappy off time on the changing mat on the bed. Nappy and clothes waiting to go on...

He's wriggled his way up the mat and his cuddling his nappy Hmm

NappyHappy · 08/04/2013 12:08

What is it with nappies and babies mouths? Grin

I left the fluff on the line for 2 days with some bedding and its all got that lovely outside smell.

Ds2 is getting his hair cut for the first time today Sad it needs doing but I'll miss his curls.

Hmmm, still waking at 10pm, 1ish am and 4-6 am. Confused

They're both asleep! Hopefully I can keep their naps the same for during the day so I can have me time get stuff done.

LeBFG · 08/04/2013 12:50

Things are moving apace! Pidj, I'd be interested in NB sizes - do prefolds fit to the pocket wraps?

Hi Protege and binkybonk (love your name!) .

Lack of sleep over here too - boggly eye fixers and mugs of espresso all round. These bubbas just sleep all day don't they?

Stretchy wraps are good early on but when out-and-about I love my ergo. After 6 months, I'll move over to a very structured ruck-sac style carrier. I think there's a MN topic on carriers rr.

I'll share your tears NH - so sad the first hair cut. Why can't boys have long curls?

NappyHappy · 08/04/2013 13:14

Anno, he has frazzled one side of his hair from his rocking and it gets matted and is a random frizz patch. Its also very patchy and thin so needs evening out. Its very curly at the back and is about 4 inches long all over (mostly).

DS2 still has medical glue in his hair from over a week ago when he split his head open. That will be fun getting his hair cut too! Fidget.

Off to Tesco soon for washing line and salad. Joy.

What name did you give DD?

PurplePidjin · 08/04/2013 13:25

BFG, the Alvas are gone (and definitely need a booster at that size!) i have two Nature Babies Stuffables left. I'll check in a sec as someone has decided nap time is 25 minutes long today Hmm

I also have:
2x Motherease Sandy in XS
2x Easypeasy and 1x Diddy Diaper, nippa fastening
1x Thirstie, aplix fastening

3x ME Rikkis S
2x Onelife XS
1x Totswrap size 0
2x Cottonbottoms 4-11lb
8x cb 8-15lb
10x cb 7-10lb

rrreow · 08/04/2013 13:33

I've read some threads about slings and I narrowed it down to Kari Me, Moby or Close Carrier. And then an Ergo once DS is heavier. I think the most important thing for me will be weight distribution as I am prone to getting lower back aches even when not pregnant (although none so far during this pregnancy!! I think it's because my back is in better shape from lugging DS1 up and down the stairs all the time..).

LeBFG · 08/04/2013 13:38

I'll PM pidj

PurplePidjin · 09/04/2013 19:22

Sorted, BFG :)

NH am i expecting a parcel?

BuffyFairyTopsTheTree · 09/04/2013 22:59

Hello, popping back onto the thread. I got some great advice about starting on cloth when I posted a couple of months ago. My DD is 18m.

The Nappy Lady recommended a mix of LL bamboo and OSFA. I got a LL trial pack. Finding the bamboo good for night, soaked through by morning but no looks. Using 2 boosters between nappy and wrap. Pocket is good, found OSFA leaked.

2 weeks into the FYP £10 trial. Love the blueberry wrap and Charlie Banana one size. The Smartipants and Mio Solo fit well. Not so keen on the Closer pop in, blueberry pre fold or tots bots easy fit. Although the latter would be ok with more boosting.

I will definitely stay on cloth but don't want to spend a fortune as I want to try and potty train this summer.

Can someone explain Miofesh to me? I got a free sample but I'm confused as I've heard nappy sanitiser isn't good?

Any recommendations for laundry detergent that's good for sensitive skin? I normally use recover but LL don't recommend it due to results.

DD has nappy dermatitis at the moment. Started the day we got the trial pack so not great timing given we've had to do a lot of nappy free time! Sad

Woah that's a mammoth post. Apologies for any weird iPad ness Grin
