Z sleeps on his back at night. Although last night he slept on his front for a good chunk. I know the advice but he seems to have very good head control already (he very easily turns his head the other way when he's on his front, even in his sleep) so I'm not that worried..?? I'm kind of just going by what feels right. Instinct is there for a reason right?

DS1 napped in the pram/buggy until he was about 1yo and we introduced a proper nap routine. I think it's great to be honest and hasn't created any bad habits for us. It's actually kind of annoying having a set nap routine at home in his cot (he will not fall sleep in the buggy anymore at all, unless he's absolutely exhausted, which is never around naptime), as he sleeps from about 1-3pm which especially on the weekends is exactly the same when fun events are on or you might be wanting to DO something.

NappyHappy · 19/07/2013 15:36

That must be a bit of a pita for your friend pp, I don't see many dairy allergy warnings on things. Sad has she said what the strangest item is that she's had to avoid?

I've always been one for doing what works for/and feels right for you. So yeah, follow your instinct. And, bad habits can always be broken anyway Wink and some babies sleep on their fronts in hospital.

We went to B&Q earlier and ds3 was falling asleep in the shopping trolley bless him. He will sleep anywhere thank god. The others were either cot, buggy either being rocked or pushed in it, car seat (or me in the first few weeks).

Has anyone had problems getting hold of fans?

NappyHappy · 19/07/2013 15:38

R, ds2 is now the same as your ds1 with nap times and place of sleep! Although today he hasn't slept.

We're well stocked with two fans, so we haven't needed to brave any shops to try and get one. I can imagine lots of shops being out of them! How about ordering on amazon and getting next day delivery?

Planned to buy some shorts for DS1 from Primark and actually had a tough time finding them! They've got their whole autumn/winter stock in already and hardly any of the summer stuff left! I did manage to find him some nice surfer shorts though on the end of a rack. And also got sunhats for both boys (again rather hard to find!!).

NappyHappy · 19/07/2013 17:32

We've found one on Amazon now that will be delivered early next week and found one on a selling page about an hour ago! Have you tried h&m for shorts and sunhats? They deliver! I got the kids Summer clothes from there the other week. Our nearest Primark is about 10 miles away. Boooooo.

Ds1 has come home from school absolutely coveted in dirt. More than normal and its even in his belly button!

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 21/07/2013 19:33

Hi all just checking in, it's been ages, R I can't believe how big Z is getting! So cute. Very impressed at the cloth converting going on - I could send you some flyers for the nappy library if you like Smile

NH and PP how are your insect bites?! I got badly bitten in Italy in June - we were eurocamping and I went to the campsite doctor. He put loads of cream and big gauze squares on the bites - I looked completely freakish and hilarious but they were lots better the next day...

All ok here except that it's TOO HOT! Nice nappy drying weather but not good for much else... Might escape to mum's again this week Grin

NappyHappy · 21/07/2013 23:21

Hi! Yeah it scabbed over so I picked it off.

Its been loads cooler today and overcast. It has been great nappy drying weather you are right there!

How is dd? ds2 is having the terrible 2's a bit early. Mostly hitting, throwing and tantrums. Yay!

rrreow · 22/07/2013 16:12

My nappies didn't dry yesterday! It wasn't warm enough so I put the laundry maid back in use. Today the nappies are definitely out though, it's SO HOT.

Z is in a Blueberry wrap now! DS1 picked it out for him and I thought I'd try it. Their sizing is a bit weird though. They are quite huge around the waist (which is why they were too big until now). But the rise adjusting snaps on the smallest setting make the wrap way too short (much shorter than a MotherEase Rikki size small is).

NappyHappy · 22/07/2013 19:11

Ive found that problem with them too R. The poppers fit ds2 great but dont on ds3 so he uses the Little Lamb ones which are great on him!

2 out of 3 are in bed, 1 is out playing in his friends garden so time to hang the fluff out so it'll be dry for the morning.

PurplePidjin · 22/07/2013 20:07

One of my weenotions (nh Wink) has been lent to my friend with a pting 2yo, the black skull impressed all my youth clubbers at the weekend! They're massive on him, but he got far too big for the now sold small nature babies. My weehuggers guitars fits nicely, and i have 4 old fashioned bamboozles on the way. That should tide me over until he either slims down through crawling or i admit defeat on my small realeasies...

I feel it's a waste not to have a line full of nappies in this weather!

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 22/07/2013 22:22

Cool! Im happy they liked it!! Its a Hmm day when they suddenly slim down. They're both on the same popper width and even though ds2 is an eating machine he has gotten skinny. Im gutted. Looks like they've got the genes from my side as all the boys are tall and skinny apart from my steroid head brother.

Does R love all the attention he gets from your young people?

Those old style Bamboozles are great, are they coloured ones?

Is dp finding it strange being in work?

DH is on medical suspension from work and is waiting to find out if he'll still have a job because of his rubbish back/legs.

PurplePidjin · 23/07/2013 08:52

He's only just on the second waist one but the fourth leg one in the REs! So I'm hoping for a few more months.

R is a total tart, loves new people although needs to know I'm there to come back to iyswim

He's liking having the self respect of working back :)

Yes, rainbow bamboozles.

ow does dh feel about not working? Will he SAH and you work?

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 23/07/2013 11:26

Aww, R is funny. They're great at this age. Does he have a comedy face that he pulls for people?

He'll not like it, after about 2 weeks! He cant pick up the younger 2 for very long and cant move quick enough to catch them if they need catching. They'll go to Nursery if I go back to work although am trying to convince Mum to retire so she can look after them WinkWink, Im looking for something I can do from home and can do any hours then. We are waiting for the letter of doom to arrive Shock

What have dp's bosses been like with him?

I cant wait to go back to work. If I went back now I'd be out of pocket due to childcare as dh is still classed as employed but when/if his place get rid I'd get help with costs.

PurplePidjin · 23/07/2013 14:08

Nah, he just smiles :)

Dp's work are cunts.

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 23/07/2013 20:29

Any teeth yet?

Hopefully a better job will come along soon for him then he can tell them to fuck right orf. Grin

PurplePidjin · 23/07/2013 21:40

Still gummy :)

Fx. I want to go for constructive dismissal or sommat cunts

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 24/07/2013 00:37

Come on teeth! But not good for you Shock

Has he contacted ACAS? They're quite good.

Ds1 is still awake! It seems to be just the way he is. I can hear him talking to himself again!

rrreow · 25/07/2013 13:09

MY BOOB IS GOING TO EXPLODE. Shock It hurts, but I'm soooo not going to wake up a sleeping baby.

I fancy a latte and brownie from Starbucks.. It's so unfair though, last time when breastfeeding I was ravenous all the time, ate whenever and whatever I liked and still ended up at below pre-preg weight (I remember going for lattes & brownies several times a week while getting J to nap in his pram).

This time I'm ravenous all the time but when I eat whatever and whenever I like (which isn't even too unhealthy, just more than usual) I seem to be putting on weight Sad Z's breastfeeding patterns are very different than J's were though, so maybe it's to do with that.

The other day DH grabbed a Sandy's size small out of Z's nappy drawer and went "One of J's nappies has been put in this drawer" Me: "no, it's Z's". DH: "But it's HUGE! It must be one of J's" Grin I've challenged him to try and put it on J

NappyHappy · 25/07/2013 16:44

Have you sorted your boob out? I love brownies. Lots. I got a few packs of brownie mix from Approved Foods for cake emergencies Wink That's one thing I miss about where I used to work, the fresh coffee that was always on the go.

When you got your boobs measured did you use the method on here? I did it the other day and was very surprised.

Both the small people are very tired but I'm going to try and keep them awake til 6pm then they can go to bed.

How is J finding his little brother?

rrreow · 25/07/2013 18:00

Yeah they feel better now, but both still a bit fuller than usual. I think he's skipped a feed or is feeding a bit less today.

Yeah I used the better bra campaign method and then got fitted at Bravissimo! Got 'measured' at M&S last time around which resulted in 34D. At Bravissimo 28GG. Go figure. Definitely been wearing the wrong size bra all my life as have been in 34 bands since I was a teenager (but have always been a size 8 on top.. which just doesn't really add up. I never knew). I don't look forward to going back to my non-breastfeeding size, but I am looking forward to treating myself to some nice bras when that time comes.

There is some jealousy there, he is pushing him around a bit, especially when I'm holding/feeding Z. But he does like him a lot, talks about him when he's not there or when he can hear him. Likes to give him cuddles or strokes. So hopefully it'll all work out eventually!

Rather in awe of how you cope with 3! I find 2 bloody hard work.

NappyHappy · 26/07/2013 00:40

Grin I find the youngest two easy! The eldest has turned into a teenager! I've got the littles into the same nap/bedtime pattern but ds2 is going to sleep later in the day but just plays in his room for a bit first then I'll find him asleep on the floor. He is currently sat next to me downstairs, its a bit warm in his room so shall open his window. Luckily he adores his baby brother and strokes his head and tries to wash him. Ds1 is not as close but he and 2 are getting on a lot better ( apart from when ds2 whacks him one Wink ).

Gravity has taken over my boobs but I'm not bothered anymore. You never know yours may stay the same size. Have you found bf easier thus time round?

PurplePidjin · 26/07/2013 19:05

I need more wraps...

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 26/07/2013 21:33

I need more Little Lamb ones they are brilliant. What size are you after I shall keep a look out for you. Smile

R is huge btw, how is he?

PurplePidjin · 27/07/2013 18:32

Something between Small Nature Babies and Large Weenotions - he's 17lb odd.

R is fab, crawling and pulling up Shock how are the 3 D's? :)

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 27/07/2013 21:44

Wow, thats ace! D1, a right bloody bossy diva still! D2 is just starting to talk a bit more and is currently running around refusing to go to sleep! Hopefully the fresh air will knock him out. And of course the tiny shrieking bundle of loveliness is still not eating a great deal but it is too hot for him and his teeth are giving him some shit. They're all so funny and noisy. Grin

I cant believe its still a Sunny Summer! Its brilliant.

How are the Cashmere longies working out?
