We use some sposies at night for Z. Mainly to humour DH as he hates being disturbed at night (and he gets up with DS1) and he claims sposies are so much quicker. So... cue poo all over the bed in the middle of the night!!! It wasn't even a big poo but had gone up his back and squirted out the back of the nappy.

PurplePidjin · 04/07/2013 11:36

When dp was in hospital, i came home for a night and stayed with my parents. Couldn't get enough nappies dry so popped him into some leftover Pampers from when he was born (he was 6 weeks old and well within the weight range)

It was the final straw to convince my mum - the smell of the chemicals and the leaked wee all over her bed :o

Dandelion dreamers are longies but I'll probably do shorties for boredom summer

Oh yes the smell as well!! I've really noticed that. I now realise what I thought was breastfed poo smell is actually disposable nappy smell!

Bf poo smells of milk :o

My mum used sposies on me, but they didn't have all the crap in them 30 years ago. If i were her I'd have done the same, but if she were me she'd be using cloth - just making the best decision based on the information/options available

Ds3 had shat all over the sides of it so it had come through the sides and all over his jamas. Bleurgh. Ds2's was dry! Shock Thankfully the rest are dry now.

I got ds3's 35w check appointment through even though he's 40 now, cant believe he is nearly one.

Where did you get the pattern from Pidj?

PurplePidjin · 05/07/2013 03:46

Measure waits to thigh. Cut this length off sleeves. Measure inside leg. Measure up from cuffs, cut down to here from cut edge. Turn one inside out, slide up over other so right sides together. Stitch crotch seam. Turn out to wrong side. Measure waist, cut this length off waistband of jumper, sew into a loop. Pin inside waistband of trousers, sew stretching to fit. Sew motif on bum.

Lanolise. Use.

*waist to ankle. Not thigh,ffs!

I think I could attempt that!

How is the night waking going? Ds3 has decided to change the times he wakes now so I can go to bed instead of waiting up for him Blush

Ive been bit by a Horsefly (I think) and its huge, bigger than yesterday.

Beautiful nappy washing day today! Long may it last!

PurplePidjin · 05/07/2013 20:36

Still 3x a night. Grumpy teething snotty baby today. Am broked.

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 06/07/2013 09:15

Same camp here apart from the snot. Lots of fresh air today! He started crawling properly yesterday so I have to be super ninja.

I love the paddling pool pic!

PurplePidjin · 06/07/2013 18:57

Seen the balloon one yet? Been out on the Forest at a 2nd birthday party bbq :o

OP posts:
PurplePidjin · 06/07/2013 21:59

Mad baby refused to go to sleep in his soaker so is back in his longies Hmm

Bloody glad i chopped up my old cashmere jumper to make thin ones now!

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 06/07/2013 22:13

Yes I did and he is just lovely. Balloons are Marmite with babies Grin How did he find the balloon?

Tooth appeared this morning!

Its a shame wool is too much in this heat, would shorts be way too warm for him?

PurplePidjin · 06/07/2013 22:21

Loved it, played for an hour!

I thought i was being clever, but the soaker is a double layer of wool (disana) and a bit small, the longies are very fine cashmere (tesco) and slightly too big. Must finish the shorties I'm crocheting!

Still no teeth here, but amber necklace seems to be helping, along with calpol for the slight temperature. Hard to tell that in this weather but he conked out when changed/dosed so must have helped :o

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 06/07/2013 23:54

Ds2 is scared of them. Doesn't help ds1 chasing him with them and popping them at him!

Hopefully once the tooth is through it'll ease up for him. Ibruprofen might help too, ds2's Front Molars are coming through too but thank fuck he isn't arsed about them anymore.

The Cashmere from Tesco is said to be very good, I didn't realise you could use Cashmere. I always think of Led Zepplin when I here that word Smile

PurplePidjin · 07/07/2013 02:06

Afaik, as long as it's handwash only it works. These get faintly damp occasionally (his wool ones keep him totally dry) but they work ok :)

Haven't had to deal with popping yet...

NappyHappy · 07/07/2013 15:24

Brill, so now you have a night combo that works! Grin

Is it really hot where you are? Both small ones are just in their nappies whilst big one is dressed as Batman!

PurplePidjin · 07/07/2013 20:01

Boiling - bbq on the forest yesterday and round a mate's today.

I got bit and now have what looks like a lemon jelly tot on my calf Hmm

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 07/07/2013 23:21

Nooooo, that's where mine is! Is it really REALLY itchy? Oooh, is it really annoying?

Did the Calpol work?

Its still very hot here even now. Avon's dry oil spray in original keeps the bugs away.

PurplePidjin · 08/07/2013 04:43

No, just painful Sad

8-2-4:30 so far :o third in a row of only 2 wakes

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 08/07/2013 05:41

Twice here but he changes the times! Second day in a row 5.30 is get up time even though they're are blackout curtains up! Ds2 is up aswell.

How is your leg?

PurplePidjin · 08/07/2013 08:53

Dp does anything after 6ish so i can get a couple of undisturbed hours, this morning was 6:30 which is good!

Leg is seeing the dr at 10:40 for anti bees :)

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 08/07/2013 09:10

Oh brill, hopefully no more bugs and bites ! I cut the grass out back last night so hopefully that'll keep some away. However, it is a spider fest out there!

PurplePidjin · 08/07/2013 12:34

Iodine and penicillin x4 a day

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 08/07/2013 21:19

Great stuff. Should start working by tomorrow hopefully. What form is the Iodine in?
