I made that sweet potato pudding! Tastes lovely! I used 3/4 cup of brown sugar but in future would use even less, it's very sweet.

Such an amazing day for nappy drying today! Although I'm a bit late, washing only done about now.

PurplePidjin · 30/06/2013 17:11

Yeah, i use less each time. Keep using too much liquid too!

My good friend is having R tomorrow for as long as he'll tolerate. Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep! Although fx the lighter longies help, i swear he wakes up thirsty not hungry because of the heat!

My nappies will go on over night, 60+prewash is 3 hours, then 40 minute rinse first thing :)

NappyHappy · 30/06/2013 20:41

That'll be nice for you both, does your friend have dc's of a similar age? Do you have plans?

Ive got some washing to start in a minute then start on the nappies. Ds2's have been very loose the past 3 days or so too, he's his usual self and its not constant so Im not worried about it.

Ds3 has taken his first few proper forward movements today then landed straight on his face bless him.

How is Z getting on Rrreow? Smile

Im just having my pint size cup of tea then tackling the huge pile of washing that just seems to have appeared upstairs Blush then need to sort my bedroom out as it looks like its been burgled!

Well, I hope you have a nice day too child free! Envy

PurplePidjin · 01/07/2013 15:59

2 hours is great! Was it nice to have a break and do your own thing for a bit?

I need your advice on something please.

Ive had to stop ds1 from playing with this boy at school as today he'd strangled ds and left bruising round his neck and its not the first time. Said boy punches, kicks and strangles ds so I sent his Mum a message last week with a picture of the bruising asking her to speak to him and of course her ds didn't do it.

Thing is I think the lad has developmental delay as he cannot speak properly (5yrs and British) and has extra tuition in school to help with his physical development as well as SALT coming in to see him. His dad drinks alot and is very domineering and plays really rough with him. He drove ds back here once after they had been playing and the Dad was pissed up and started throwing a football at the boys and breaking the panel off the kitchen door in the process.

Am I doing the right thing by stopping them playing together? I don't want to be mean on the boy if he doesn't know what he is doing is wrong but then I don't want ds coming home covered in bruises.

PurplePidjin · 01/07/2013 17:19

Lovely :o

I would leave mum out of it - at best she's married to an emotional bully, at worst the boy is playing out what he sees at home.

This happened in school, so school need to deal with it - your dc is at risk from another dc, and it's up to them to protect all the children. The more you stamp your feet, the more evidence they'll have to get support for the poor other lad. Make sure the incident is accurately documented, push for a meeting with the ht, go to the governors if necessary.

Can you befriend the mum? Abusers are very good at isolating their victims, she probably has no friends and limited contact with her family Sad

Thank you Smile, Ive spoken to the school too and have kept pics on my phone. The teacher kept them apart today in class and it happens at playtime and they cant have eyes everywhere which I totally get. I spoke to teach about it on Friday then this happens today and she feels really guilty about it.

I do see her rarely out of school and she seems pretty switched on. She said to me not long since that she was thinking about giving up bf so she could drink more! Shock When the Dad drops the lad off at school I avoid him. Both the parents like drinking.

Ds3 started crawling properly before! Uh ohhh! He and thing 2 have been having right pooplosions the past couple of days too but seem fine in themselves. Not good for me!

NappyHappy · 01/07/2013 18:15

Pressed send too soon before reading!

Her family are always at the house, and her sister and dp like drinking aswell, his family are back in Portugal but his brother lives with them.

PurplePidjin · 01/07/2013 22:14

This lad is vulnerable and they need to have eyes on him. Strangling is well outwith the realms of playfighting!

NappyHappy · 02/07/2013 05:56

Definitely! I shall see what happens.

How was work?

PurplePidjin · 02/07/2013 20:05

Good luck :)

Work is fab, love it

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 02/07/2013 21:12

His Dad stood next to me at home time, didn't say a word to me so I turned my back to him.

Are they a great bunch to work with?
Ooh, I meant to ask if there had been any more vom incidents?

PurplePidjin · 02/07/2013 21:21

Teens are fab fun, especially when they're not yours!

No more vom, i decided it was where he gobbles it so am going slower which has worked - he regulates better, doesn't over eat therefore doesn't bring up the excess :)

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 02/07/2013 22:42

Teens get a right hard time.

We are making food improvements too! Lumps and finger food have the thumbs up although there is chocolate biscuit all over me and the floor from the packet the boys and I ate earlier!

R looks so big on that pic with the Sunday dinner! Did he enjoy it?

NappyHappy · 02/07/2013 22:43

Im not going to enjoy the teenage hormone fest when it arrives here! At least by then I can hide with some gin WinkWink

PurplePidjin · 03/07/2013 08:16

Yeah, even most of the "bad" ones are only bad because of dickhead parents that don't give a shit Sad

Ds is loving his finger food, but turns his nose up at jars - this boy likes flavour!

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 03/07/2013 11:36

It makes me Hmm and wonder whats going on at home.

R is doing brill! D is still too small for the table to go on his high chair so I have him sat on the floor with various bits of food. Then he puked it all up Wink

NappyHappy · 03/07/2013 12:39

I just went off the rails as a teen doing allsorts but didn't get into any bother with the police. My brother on the other hand.... Our wayward ways started when Mum and Dad split.

RueDeWakening · 03/07/2013 13:51

Afternoon :) rrreow has pointed me in this direction so you know who to blame hello!

I'm on DC3 in cloth, we like tots bots and have used original cotton tots, bamboozles, and just venturing into flexitots and stretchies.

My sister is a clothaholic (and knits her own longies etc too) but I've managed to restrain myself so far :o

NappyHappy · 03/07/2013 14:10

Hi! It is very addictive. But, since I finished work I have had to do rehab Wink did you cb all?

Yes, that Rrreow and her pre pg jeans Hmm that is very impressive! I have a long way to go til Im back in mine and ds3 is 10m!

A knitting sister ey? WinkWink

PurplePidjin · 03/07/2013 14:49

Hello, Rue, we're in wool overnight - old jumpers turned into longies - but i have a pair of dandelion dreamers on the hook! Itchy brown wool that cost me £1.50 in a charity shop Hmm I'm hoping lanolising softens them up :o

OP posts:
rrreow · 04/07/2013 01:03

To be fair though, after dinner I had to undo the buttons on my jeans Grin

NappyHappy · 04/07/2013 09:47

Dandelion Dreamers sound really nice. Are they longies?

But still, you are back in your jeans Wink

I put the boys in sposies last night, because they've both been more regular than normal I couldn't get them washed and dried quick enough. Hopefully the lot I hung out last night will be dry by lunch time.
