Are there plans for any more picnics?

PurplePidjin · 25/06/2013 19:01

Not yet...

Local rag want me to put something together for an article Shock

Yeah, I've emailed my suggestion to the cc lady, and asked for pics as she had the official camera

NappyHappy · 26/06/2013 10:29

Check us lot out! It'll be great. How was last nights 'sleep' Hmm ?

PurplePidjin · 26/06/2013 12:07

Up five times between 6:45 end 5:30. Dp misread the time and got him up! Teeth are moving he's hot and grumpy Sad

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 26/06/2013 17:26

Im either sleeping with ds1 or downstairs tonight. DH's snoring and sleep moaning are keeping me awake more than the baby.

We're getting another tooth through too on the top. Has ds taken to gnawing on anything in particular?

PurplePidjin · 26/06/2013 22:00

Hands :o

And he likes his gumigem. But mostly our hands and clothes! I was at work so he knackered himself out howling at dp, asleep at 8:30. He often sleeps better after a good long cry Blush

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 26/06/2013 23:58

Ive noticed that with these 3. I think sometimes a good cry now and again gets it all out. Works for me too! Wink

Are they good then gumigems? Tooth number 4 is about to pop through and his fingers are red from chewing.

How was work?

PurplePidjin · 27/06/2013 01:51

He woke at 10:30 and 1:30. Not great but a slight improvement

Yes, it comes in very handy hanging round my neck reay to be grabbed! Good size, always to hand and relatively clean...

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 27/06/2013 13:06

Twice here too! Midnight ish and 4.17. Ds1 woke before midnight having night terrors, daft bugger fell down the stairs earlier on so stuff like that or being told off seems to set them off.

Hmm, those Gumigems sound rather fab then! Hopefully once the first tooth has come through the pain eases up for him Hmm

PurplePidjin · 27/06/2013 15:45

He woke at 3:30. Rocked to sleep, woke on transfer. After an hour i stropped off downstairs and left the boys to it. We've regressed as far as cot refusal Sad

I feel appalling

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 27/06/2013 16:42

I bet you do too Hmmboth our boys seem to wake similar times each night as if its a sleep cycle thing. Is it time for cake and Pringles? And pink wine Wink

Theres a technique (that word reminds me of Supernanny) called wake to sleep where you not quite wake them about 15 mins or so when they are due to wake so it breaks the cycle. But that would mean setting an alarm clock and possibly waking the babies right up! No ta.

Did he end up asleep on one of you two?

I was in the bath at 1am this morning! One of the few times of silence in the house. My Farmer Giles have appeared too and are really itchy ShockWink

PurplePidjin · 27/06/2013 23:33

Dp took over at about 5 and got another 3 hours for him.

This afternoon he walked 3 steps holding my hands, picked up naan bread in a pincer grip (thumb and whole hand) and pulled himself up to stand - once with my hands and once with dp on the sofa Shock

I napped with him on me on the sofa for an hour thus afternoon (dp was there too keeping an eye) and feel fractionally better. Work tonight meant no wine Sad

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 28/06/2013 09:26

Good, wow, thats fab! We're not up to that stage yet! He can stand holding on but he's not attempted walking yet.

Ive put more padding on his mattress to see if that would help with sleep and it had done a bit.

How was work? Theres a bottle of Black Cherry Bulmers in the fridge thats had my name on for the last 3 months!

PurplePidjin · 28/06/2013 18:28

I'm a youth worker, it's a lot of fun Wink

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 28/06/2013 20:33

I'd like to do something similar when things 2&3 are in nursery/school. Apart from CRB is there any training/qualifications needed?

PurplePidjin · 28/06/2013 20:56

No, it's all on the job. Experience is handy, could you volunteer for a bit first? Most councils are slashing services Angry I'm lucky that mine goes for middle management first so the 60k+ fuckers have been getting it so far :o we're still at risk though

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 28/06/2013 22:33

Ive asked the Sure Start if I can volunteer for any young/vulnerable mums groups that they may run in the future. I have plenty of life experience mostly gained from my younger years Shock

What age jumper did you use to make R's longies?

These cuts are a complete outrage, we know where the cuts should be!

PurplePidjin · 29/06/2013 08:22

Fab, also try actual youth clubs - we love volunteers, just google for your local Senior yw/coordinator/ whatever it's called in your area.

Adult jumper, just make sure it's handwash only wool :)

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 29/06/2013 11:31

Thank you. People in the local community are trying to set up youth clubs as there is nothing round here just a few shops and takeaways. We're on the edge of the canal which segregates the area further. Loads of young people about and the council are closing what available premises there are, like everywhere really.

PurplePidjin · 29/06/2013 19:12

Perfect timing then. Churches often fund stuff like that, worth asking? Even if it's just free use of the hall one night a week.

Then you need tea, coffee, squash, supernoodles and cheese toasties. And a few types of chocolate bar. That will be self-funding once you're up and running as you can charge a nominal amount (50p for a toastie etc) also local cafés might give you leftover stock at the end of the day.

NappyHappy · 29/06/2013 20:07

We've just had the community newsletter through saying the parish council once they find somewhere they'll be starting a YC up! I shall be looking out for more info!

Last nights nappy fail - no wrap! Only realised this morning. D'oh!

PurplePidjin · 29/06/2013 20:20

Hurrah!
I've been politely suggesting dp put nappies on right a certain way for weeks now. He's not corrected himself, leaving massive leg gape. This morning we had a cacastrophe down ds's legs. Ha!

I made lightweight cashmere longies today hoping they'll be nicer for him than the heavy wool ones! Took about 15 minutes, my mum was well impressed. Pirate flag on the bum this time :o

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 30/06/2013 09:03

Hahahaha!!!! He should have listened then! WinkWinkWink

Cashmere sounds lovely. Needed in this weather. Its been dull but warm here the past couple of days so the small people haven't been wearing much!

Time to was ds1! He he. He has suddenly turned into the ultimate diva. He is the precious one, ds2 is pixie ears and ds3 is hobbit feet!
