Oh yes I think I saw that other article. I think it's a great opportunity to raise awareness. I was at the health centre the other day for DS1s 2 year review and the hv suggested we put a piece of kitchen roll in DSs nappy to aid with potty training/ helping him feel wet. When I mentioned that wouldnt make a difference as we use real nappies the woman didn't understand the phrase 'real nappies' and I had to explain.... Hmm

NappyHappy · 10/06/2013 17:52

Oh dear, its not that difficult to work out is it?

Ill have to tidy the house, hide my grey roots and make sure the garden is trimmed (not the lady one Wink) and fluff on the line so they can take pics of it. And keep pretties to one side! WinkWink

Who was at home with you during the birth?

rrreow · 10/06/2013 22:09

DH was here, covering the living room in plastic sheeting in a bit of a panic at first Grin

SiLs picked up DS at the start (although I was apparently already in established labour at that point) and he stayed with them for a couple of nights.

I had 3 midwives! 2 fully qualified ones and 1 student.

Plastic sheets bless him. How are you feeling? Ive had students with each birth, one was my birth partner with ds2 as dh missed the birth by a matter of minutes. All I could think about was the mole on her face in an Uncle Buck moment Shock

Alot of my friends from school are pregnant atm, its lovely. Smile

Defo no more for me.

I sold nearly everything I listed just have some wraps and Smartipants nappies left. Just kitted all the boys out for Summer from H&M at a bargainous price using voucher codes. Yay!

LeBFG · 11/06/2013 09:42

How are you going rrreow? I remember the first 24 hours were quite painful the second time round - all those afterpains, tired uterine muscles Wink. Was DH a brick? I had to shout at my DH to get on the floor with me (he was sat coolly in a chair watching the spectacle Hmm).

So funny about the mole NH, I'm sure I would have been equally distracted Grin. Hurrah for vouchers! Stuff can be so expensive. I end up being given things or buying from charity shops.

NappyHappy · 11/06/2013 09:54

My msg vanished! Argh!

Most of my clothes are off Ebay, got some Boden jeans for £4 the other week!

The boys stuff was under a fiver an item then I got a voucher code for 20% off the babies/toddler stuff.

How are you getting on BFG? Is ds in love with his sister?

Ds3 woke twice last night which is an improvement! Ive been giving him juice in the day, meals first to fill him up more then milk in the morning and evening then when he wakes in the night. Ds2 is coming to the end of daytimes sleeps! Nooooooooo!!!! I still put him in bed though but he just plays in his room bless him.

PurplePidjin · 11/06/2013 14:44

What type/size wraps, NH?

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 11/06/2013 15:29

NappyHappy · 11/06/2013 15:30

Had the phone interview thing with the council and she'll be sending a photographer round in the next week or so!

PurplePidjin · 11/06/2013 19:33

WN are fab, only need 3 as i alternate with AIOs depending on how lazy I'm being about changes Blush

rrreow Congratulations on the birth of your baby.

I washed the LL nappies I brought on ebay and had them out on the line, they looked so lovely, found myself keep looking out the window, I think a line full of nappies is a lovely sight, probably won't feel the same when I'm washing and hanging them out 100's of times.

PurplePidjin · 12/06/2013 21:33

29 weeks in and I'm still proud of my nappies on the line Wink

Got back from holiday yesterday so just catching up - congrats again rrreow saw your pics on FB he's gorgeous!

rrreow · 13/06/2013 15:08

Thank you Smile am really loving him so much already. I've found it much easier to bond with him than I did with DS1. Probably partly because I know what I'm doing better, and partly because he doesn't have tongue tie so feeding isn't agony like it was with DS1!

The sleep is much worse though Confused as he wakes up to feed a lot (DS1 slept for stretches of 3-5 hours between feeds right from the start until sleep regression hit) and also seems to just have a 2 hour awake period in the night Hmm

I keep forgetting to take a picture of my airer up and running! It's got nappies on it at the moment, so proud! Even after using reusables for over a year now I still love seeing them out drying..

Also LOVING the Little Lamb size 1s. They're lovely and soft and such a nice snug fit around the legs. Shame I only have 8. They do look quite small though, don't think we'll get more than a few months' use out of them, so therefore also reluctant to spend money on more of them. Also despite DS2 being a good size (certainly felt that way during the labour... Hmm) I'm having trouble getting the Motherease wraps not to gape around his legs. Had one leak so far with a Bamboozle size 1. No leaks with the LL or ME Sandies so far. Also we used Pampers until his cord stump fell off and they leaked twice (once completely soaking his outfit & part of the bed). Score for real nappies!

You can tell I'm on my computer as opposed to my phone as I've written a novel Grin

NappyHappy · 13/06/2013 17:34

I too am proud of a line full of nappies, thinks its been 14months!

Ds3 is 1 in September and STILL on 3-4 hour wakes in the night! I keep saying this too shall pass. Wish it bloody would!!!!!

How is ds finding his brother Rrreow?

NappyHappy · 15/06/2013 21:50

Im in my last lot of strip washing now. 1 load every other day and this is the 3rd lot. Sounds loads but its just a wetbag full each time.

Ive just got a couple of ME wraps and a WN pocket girly ish nappy to sell! But Ive spent what I made on sandals for the boys and a pair of wool longies which I got for £5!!

Headbashing has started again. Shock Overtired, terrible twos and a day of paddy throwing.

How is everyone doing?

All ok here, sorry to hear head banging has started again. Baby biscuit has taken to bashing herself on the head with both hands when thwarted. Toddlers are nuts. Oops I hear her calling. I want to SLEEP!

PurplePidjin · 16/06/2013 04:52

Stil in this jeffing sleep regression hell

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 16/06/2013 09:31

Same here P, I've just started stodging his food out more with rice and mini pasta to see if that helps. Funny enough we were up at that time too!

You are so right B, toddlers are mad! Is dd still waking silly amounts too?

PurplePidjin · 17/06/2013 02:15

We've stretched to 3-hourly. Not bad considering we started off at the in laws' and the first bit was in the car seat!

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 17/06/2013 08:34

Last 2 nights we've had random massive sick. Her not me! 9 PM sat night 11pm last night. Change bed and full change of clothes for her and me. Eurgh. Wke dh up too and he hosed down the beddinginthe shower! Nice. What a great Father's Day gift Smile So after that lots of waking for milk and I can't refuse her, the poor little mite! Once this has stopped though am going to work on reducing night feeding - about a year after most people haha! Day feeding has gone right down which is good. Fingers crossed for more sleep all round... Big hugs all!

NappyHappy · 17/06/2013 09:35

Oh no Biscuit, that does not sound good! Wonder what's caused that? Are you OK today? I can't wait to go back to work.

I don't mind baby waking its just the frequency, he does have another tooth now!

Anyone else obsessed with babies feet or is it just me? Hmm

NappyHappy · 17/06/2013 11:51

Is baby biscuit OK? I've just re read your post! Blush

Forgot to report back to you about the CSP. Brilliant. No thrush! And they feel nice and soft with no sticky bits pulling your pubes out or sticking to your foof. They just get chucked in with the nappies.

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 17/06/2013 13:08

I didn't even register that you misread it oops! Se seems fine in herself but today and yesterday she has been doing really pale yellow poos that actually smell like sick - so there is clearly something not right in her tummy. She's had lots of mummy milk overnight and this morning and is asleep now, been out for just over a hour, I think I'd better let her have a little longer poor thing. I think she may have slight temp too. I might give it another day or two then maybe ring the doc. She's not been like this before but I remember being very pukey as a kid so it could just be one of those things.

Interesting re csp, I bought a mooncup the other day randomly! Just waiting for chance to test it ... TTC is not exactly happening at the mo so I think will get lots of time to try other things Sad never mind we'll manage it in the end I hope!
