God, I hope you sleep tonight. Ds3 has only been in bed half an hour, he fell asleep before when I was collecting my Avon books.

Mental note: dont take a 5yr old Croc wearing whinge bag on his bike with me next time.

LeBFG · 06/06/2013 11:23

My DS was exactly the same Pidj. I think the hot weather gets them suckling frequently again. I'm seeing it again with DD at the moment. Baby Pidj is over 6 months now isn't he? I remember trying to get DS into sleep routines - sends shudders down my spine! I think in the end I junked it all because it was stressing me out and found going with the flow better. By about 14mo he was sleeping through and taking himself off for naps and bedtime - so cute. A little soft snuggly blanket helped - he's still got it and refuses to sleep without it Grin.

You plannning a christening party?

PurplePidjin · 06/06/2013 11:53

Worst. Night. Ever.

He's not even sucking, just waking up then crying to be put back to sleep. He gets to the point where he's about to fall over then waaaaah. Continuously for 2 hours 2:30-4:30 last night, then up for the day at 5:30.

Yes, tea and cake and a few sandwiches at my mum's :)

Shit. It seems like its never going to end doesn't it?

Tea, cake and sandwiches are always good.

Ds1 still has his bedtime bear at 5yrs! Grin Bless him. Ive still got my dolly Wink

rrreow · 06/06/2013 13:42

I slept with a stuffed animal until I was about 16 Blush I still have him and give him a nuzzle sometimes. BlushShockBlush

DS has tonsillitis. He was sooo whiny yesterday, I should've known something was up as he's usually super cheerful. Now we have to get antibiotics into him 4 times a day

Laundry rack is up and in use!! Not nappies though as they're going outside with this nice weather. Have just realised the INSANE amount of washing I'm going to have to do with a newborn in reusables.. once a day at least I think?

PurplePidjin · 06/06/2013 15:21

Rrreow, I've always been alternate days although i might then do 2 loads iyswim

One day he'll be a teen and unwakeable

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 06/06/2013 16:39

Ds1 is the unwakeable already. Shock he gets woken in schooldays via a babies bum in his face, tickle torture or by cold water being poured on him. Wink

For these 2 I wash every other day and its working.

How is ds feeling today?

NappyHappy · 06/06/2013 16:40

Dosing syringe is the way to get his antibiotics in. Done by stealth, childs head on lap, squirt into the inside of cheek.

rrreow · 06/06/2013 18:11

Thanks for the syringe tip! We actually have a couple of the Calpol ones (but never use them as DS loves Calpol and would happily swig it from the bottle if we'd let him!) so will try that for his next dose.

Just had a sweep. My bishop's score is 8 (out of a possible 9)!!! So fingers crossed.

NappyHappy · 06/06/2013 20:30

Bouncing is the way after a sweep. Are you feeling any twinges?

Ive become the syringe ninja Wink I have however learnt not to squirt it directly in the back of the throat Wink

rrreow · 06/06/2013 21:15

Twinge twinge Wink (please don't mention on Facebook by the way) They're very irregular but already about as painful as full on period pains. I think I should get away from the computer though as they were coming faster earlier when I was doing laundry, but now I'm sitting at my desk they're slowing down.

Syringe trick went well! Also praised DS to the high heavens afterwards and he was well pleased with himself. The antibiotics suspension is actually sweet so I think it's more of a control thing (and a 'this doesn't taste like Calpol' issue) rather than it tasting bad.

NappyHappy · 06/06/2013 22:55

Wwhhhhhooooooo!!! Im getting all excited now.

Pinky promise ill keep my cake hole shut Smile

If sweeps are going to work its in the following 48 hours.

Oh, Im so pleased syringe trick worked. Hopefully they'll kick in quick.

Fingers crossed this is it for you and you get your HB.

PurplePidjin · 06/06/2013 23:16

Oooooh rrreow! Fingers crossed! Thanks

NappyHappy · 07/06/2013 13:12

P and I are on standby!

LeBFG · 07/06/2013 13:25

Yay, sounds like this is it rrreow!!!! Are you mentally prepared for it all now?

Is cake hole (pronounced caake-ow in my westcountry twang) regional or understood everywhere? It's something I associate with my dad. Not sure I've heard it elsewhere.

Ditto here with the Calpol. DS thinks it's a real treat when he gets some Hmm Hmm.

NappyHappy · 07/06/2013 13:53

I never thought of that B! Not sure if its a Northern thing. I love the West Country accent!

How is DD getting on?

NappyHappy · 07/06/2013 22:49

I have fluff to sell. Boy colours. I'll list it all on Ebay and that FB selling page tomorrow.

rrreow · 08/06/2013 17:18

Zephyr Ocean was born on 7 June at 5.03am weighing 3.6kg! I had a home birth which was what I wanted. Labour was about 6 hours and the final 2 hours were very tough. Very glad he's out now! He's amazingly gorgeous and I'm completely in love with him.

PurplePidjin · 08/06/2013 17:23

Congratulations Rrreow and welcome to the world Zephyr Thanks

And yay for getting the birth you wanted :o

Well done you! So glad too that you got the birth you wanted. ThanksThanks

Good Evening Zephyr! Xx

LeBFG · 09/06/2013 09:28

Just read the news. Fantastic job rrreow. Excellent weight and lovely name. Good work! So pleased jealous that you were able to have a home birth. Take care of you two and make sure you have a long hot bath at some point.

NappyHappy · 10/06/2013 13:15

Ive been asked by the council to help promote the use of cloth nappies, wipes etc! It'll be an article in the local papers. This has come about because of the council changing the general waste bin to fortnightly collections and they are remaining at the small size unless you have a large family. Do I do it?

rrreow · 10/06/2013 16:43

Hell yes, that's awesome!!!!

LeBFG · 10/06/2013 16:53

Go Nappy. Sounds excellent.

NappyHappy · 10/06/2013 16:54

It all started with families complaining that now were on fortnightly collections bins will be overflowing with nappies so I emailed the council about the cloth and they responded.

I soon will be the target of bin abuse Grin

PP sent me the article that started ot all off. Wink

How are you both doing? Is ds1 loving his brother?
