How many times should I wash my new Little Lamb bamboo nappies so they're useable? I don't really need them to be at their max absorbency (as I'm thinking a newborn needs changing every 3 seconds anyway). I've washed them twice now so far.

NappyHappy · 11/05/2013 16:53

R, twice before they can be used and 6 for max absorbancy.

P, huzzah!!! That is truly bargainous!!!

Ebay is definitely cheaper than fb. Shock

DH is on nights this weekend so I might get slightly better sleep. I'll be in bed early with my knitting though.

NappyHappy · 11/05/2013 20:28

Envy

I have a newly-learnt self-settler Hmm Mummy threw a strop last night and popped some boundaries in place. Worked at 2:30am, afternoon nap at my folks and 2nd time lucky this evening!

He ate 3 cubes of root veg plus 1/2 banana at lunch, then 2 cubes cauliflower and 2tbsp rice for tea. Poo is of the roll off consistency. So i can't be that crap, even with the not sleeping through yet thing, right?

Really ought to snuggle down but i wanna watch embarrassing bodies Blush

NappyHappy · 11/05/2013 22:09

Wtf is sleeping? (Let alone sleeping through Wink)

He certainly is a greedy boy! And well done you for getting him to self settle. It has to be done, you need your sleep. I think you're doing everything right Smile so there. Are you getting any sleep in the day?

Im so glad dh is working nights this weekend, when small and noisy wakes im going to leave him as long as I can (he doesn't cry when he wakes just kicks about and chats) before I sort him to see if I can push the feed forward a bit iykwim.

Ds1 is still up farting about upstairs in a den we made and ds2 hasn't long since been put back to bed after his hysterical episode.

NappyHappy · 11/05/2013 22:10

I Envy E.Bodies.

NappyHappy · 12/05/2013 01:11

If its any consolation ds2 is screaming the house down buig time as ds1 woke up screaming. Ds3 is now stirring through the racket. ConfusedConfused

PurplePidjin · 12/05/2013 04:03

Sleep in the day? I've been lucky to get him to sleep for 20 minutes on me during the day so far - this week has seen major breakthroughs!

Just had 45 minutes of hysteria, didn't want boob, hugs etc Confused it's only cio if you walk away and ignore, right? Finally down. The other times were no where near thus, 2 minutes shouting max.

He sleeps soooooo much better when he's done it for himself -5 hours or so, compared with 1 1/2 when fed to sleep. So i know I'm doing the right thing. I think. Don't know how I'd cope with more than one! Brew

NappyHappy · 12/05/2013 07:38

So poop nights all round then Wink

Then ds3 woke 11.30, 2ish, 5ish and half an hour ago.

Hopefully you've had some more sleep. Thanks

PurplePidjin · 12/05/2013 08:41

Actually, not too bad. 7:30-1, 1:15-3:15 and 4-8:20 Shock i think he was pissed off at the 3:15 one because he wanted go be asleep and wasn't, he barely had any milk (mess on my top this morning!) so 11 hours total which is loads more than normal :)

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 12/05/2013 10:44

That not bad at all! He's getting the hang of it Wink

If the older boys hadn't had woken and had their carry on it wouldn't have been too bad here either.

Are you still feeling tired?

PurplePidjin · 12/05/2013 13:32

Just got him down to nap in 20 minutes including boobjuice :o hoping for at least an hour of crochet although I'm also defrosting fish for a pie for dinner.

Guess that's the easy side to your first - you're allowed to swear at people who wake them up Wink

OP posts:
LeBFG · 12/05/2013 14:52

Pidj, I think as long as you're close when the baby is crying then they know you're there and it isn't CIO. I did a similar thing with nap-allergic DS and it worked the first time I tried it (I snapped - I needed a nap myself I remember very clearly). It took longer to discourage night time feeds though Hmm.

All asleep here and I'm making croissants Shock - wish me luck!

NappyHappy · 12/05/2013 15:11

You are so right B, there comes a point where enoughs enough and something has to be done.

Were on chicken breast and veg for tea not sure how and with what sauce etc as its regularly a ready steady cook tea most days Wink

Mmmmm fish pie and croissants.

Ds2 has been asleep since 1pm and ds3 since 1.30. After last last im leaving ds2 asleep til half past then ill get him up.

Ds3 is getting his first tooth! I check his mouth every few days and I noticed the redness before. Thanks be for amber! But shall Anbesol tonight too.

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 12/05/2013 17:59

Sleep is but a distant memory Grin good work Pidj on getting R napping. The roll off poo is great too makes life a lot easier. Did I just say poo was great?! Just ordered some size 3 LL bamboos for dd for night times, her size 2 stretchies are only just about big enough now. FYP had 5 for £25 so how could I resist. A blueberry wrap from the bargain preloved section may also have sneaked into my basket too... Blush I was temped to get a Charlie banana to try too, £11 seemed pretty good, but must exercise some restraint!

PurplePidjin · 12/05/2013 18:53

Fed him in my bed, walked him through, popped him down and he fell asleep to Ewan's first harp strum Shock

Biscuit, pm me if you want to pass on some size 2s. I won 4 but not sure that'll be enough, at least for my peace of mind!

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 12/05/2013 21:00

Fingers crossed Pidj, I was strict Mum tonight. All 3 bathed and in bed for 7.30 ish. We were on Classic FM last night for ds2.

Do you find music helps? Sleep.

PurplePidjin · 12/05/2013 21:40

I've only tried Ewan but it has no discernible effect in the car much to my mother's bafflement he likes Bob Marley and Motown for a little bop though Hmm

Don't Worry is his lullaby of choice possibly because it's the only thing i know all the words to

Still asleep. I've watched X Men First Class and pumped 3oz. CSI then sleep for me too :)

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 12/05/2013 22:00

Bob Marley reminds me of my oldest friend Smile happy days. That and UB40! Oh to be 13 again (for a very short time)

Sleeps for all boys round then! Grin Grin Grin Grin Hopefully we'll get some too!

Devs favourite non family member is coming over in the morning. Auntie Woo woo.

Would you recommend YouTube for good beginners guide to crochet?

CSI, Sunday night used to be my CSI night.

PurplePidjin · 13/05/2013 01:55

Woke himself coughing at 11:30, quick suck, now on first actual feed :)

CSI Sunday rocks!

Ds3 was awake from 10.30 til 1.30 then 2-2.30 then up for the day at 5.30! Then ds2 woke then too so 3 hours sleep ShockShock

PurplePidjin · 13/05/2013 07:54

OP posts:
