Elimination communication makes me laugh. Adults running around constantly after their toddlers so they don't poo on the floor Grin. I'm surprised the toddlers don't rebel more. Mine would have (waggy finger and tut-tut-tut).

Ah, I can't believe Pidj is weaning already. My lil DD is starting cooing...arghh, they'll all be at university next. Panic.

PurplePidjin · 06/05/2013 08:10

Scary innit, BFG :o how's the fluff?

OP posts:
LeBFG · 06/05/2013 10:52

I'm doing fluff part time really. Not nights and not when DS goes to the CM. Just put some prefolds out and the sun bleached them in no time. Magic. Has little Pidj's poos changed consistancy yet? That's when the real fluff cleaning work starts Hmm.

I got told straight to fork mash but ds3 didn't like so if R is getting on with it then keep on Grin and the night thing sounds great too! Had a few nights of lots of wakings when we first started but all 3 had disrupted nights at first. Hmm Hmm

You were obviously a Mum in a previous life Grin

Hi BFG, are things settling into some kind of routine ish resembling thing? Are you OK? EC is definitely not for us. They can go outside if they want to do that.

Ds2 now stands in front of me with his mouth wide open when he wants my food, he is a funny boy.

PurplePidjin · 06/05/2013 13:50

Well he just hovered up a cube of parsnip, a cube of sweet potato, 2tsp rice, 1 heaped tsp pureed cauliflower and 1/8 if a banana. He's now asleep on me and I'm about to transfer to my mum's bed.

Sleep was fucked again last night but I think he's just hungrier than I expected. Will be piling in the solids at teatime, and going to try a dream feed at 10 instead of leaving him from 8:30 as he woke at 11:45 last night anyway. Fingers crossed!

Go on, BFG, take the plunge. plunge. If I can do it you can :)

NappyHappy · 06/05/2013 17:50

Wow Pidj! Greedy sausage! That's excellent going. He eats more than ds3 Grin Dream feed sounds like a good idea. Anything to get them to sleep longer Wink Wink

I'm gonna give him his tea now, me and ds2 have eaten, ds1 refused as it contains potatoes and dh is at work.

Might try both small people with poached egg tomorrow... Confused

PurplePidjin · 06/05/2013 18:36

Turned up his nose at apple porridge so had banana (another eighth), apple and rusk. Tried him on whole rusk but he got frustrated trying to eat it flat side first so i mushed it with water - new favourite food! Hope he sleeps better tonight Hmm

Hi everyone just been catching up... KFC if you're still there, v exciting re move abroad, good luck! Keep us updated...

All the weaning chat has taken me right back, NH and Pidj - I found it really stressful as dd hardly ate anything for ages and I got in a real tizzy about it. Her eating at 21mo now is still pretty random plus 6 milk feeds a day and all bloody night sigh

R good bargain with the LLs! How is the new changing bag?

I've got some gNappies coming with my Ocado order tomorrow as they are on offer, still pricey £11.20 for a gPant and pouch but no inserts! Like buying just a wrap I guess. Am intrigued by them as they look pretty weird so will report back. I've ordered a small and a medium for the library but might just about get dd into the medium - I hope so.

NappyHappy · 07/05/2013 10:20

Bloody hell Biscuit thats alot at her age, you've gotta be tired?!

Ds1 barely eats too and he's 5y in a few weeks. But there's no point getting pissed of with him over it as it's not going to achieve anything. Then ds2 is an eating machine. He does not stop. Wink

Ds3 is in the front garden asleep in the shade bless him. 2 hourly wakes last night.

How was your night Pidj?

rrreow · 07/05/2013 12:13

Hi Biscuit The changing bag is AMAZING but I haven't actually used it yet lol. It's allocated as my hospital bag currently, as an amazing amount of stuff actually fits in there! It's not full yet and currently has in it:
-whole pack of newborn nappies
-pack of maternity pads
-sling
-two packs of pants
-pyjamas
-small wash bag

I think I will actually be able to fit in all my & DS2's essentials. Last time when we went for my induction we showed up at the hospital looking like we were going on holiday for 2 weeks, so am keen to be more economical with my packing this time Grin

I'm planning a trip to Nappy Ever After this afternoon to get some prefolds & nippas. Must.not.impulse.buy...

It's DS1's 2nd birthday tomorrow! Can't believe where the time has gone...

Eating is such a difficult issue isn't it. DS is a so-so eater. Sometimes he eats enormous amounts, sometimes he doesn't even touch his dinner. I'm forcing myself to be super laid back about it as I don't want him to have my food issues.

LeBFG · 07/05/2013 12:30

Feeding's such a worry isn't it? I'm surprised and pleased for you guys that weaning is going so well. DS was a nightmare and still is - he eats like a very thin sparrow. I suppose I shouldn't expect more as his dad is very tall and was extremely thin as a teenager (seen the photos - I'm sure wicked MIL starved him!). I'm the same as you rrreow, I try not to make it into a big deal....but it is a big deal to me. Sigh.

He still says very little, the little monkey. I'm sure his plan is to worry mum into an early grave...Hmm. DD, on the other hand, is cooing a treat. She sometimes sleeps very well at night (record so far is 8 hours). Even if she wakes more for food I never have to get up to get her back to sleep. She's very chilled. And very cute Grin.

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 07/05/2013 13:48

cries quietly with envy at petite BFG's ability to sleep so long

Yes NH it is knackering. And I am permanently starving. But I just eat constantly so that's ok Smile it's been a 'path of least resistance' thing for me up to now - she gets really upset if I refuse a feed and it seems to be the only way she can relax and switch off - she either feeds to sleep or drops off in the pram inthe daytime. I'm trying to cut down by distraction / keep offering more food etc but she's not really buying into it...!

Hi R have fun at NEA! Bet you come back with more than you went in for Grin they had a sale box of some Bummis wraps for £5 each last time I was there a few weeks ago, I got a cute frog print one. Change bag sounds amazing! I also took enough stuff to the hospital for a week's holiday - an actual suitcase was involved I think Blush so am impressed by your minimal packing...

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 07/05/2013 13:48

Oops didn't mean that to be in bold!

LeBFG · 07/05/2013 16:11

Don't be envious Biscuit - I had such a hard time with DS that I deserve a bit of break this time round! In any case, 8 hours is her record, it's normally something like 4-6 and every 3 hours in the day. Compare with DS's every 2 hours in the day and every 3 at night...at 6 months!

PurplePidjin · 07/05/2013 17:16

Wake ups at 2, 3, 5 and 6 Sad

However, today he's been loaded with food - rusk and banana for breakfast, sweet potato (x2) cauli and rice for lunch, and parsnip for tea. Plus i got a 1 1/2 hour nap in the cot this afternoon. Hoping this bodes well

OP posts:
BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 07/05/2013 21:38

Thanks BFG, it's always good to know people have been through the same and survived! If I'm crazy lucky enough to have another hopefully ill get a sleeper...

Had my first nappucino today for the nappy library- 3 people came, 2 borrowed - I was happy with that! Votes please - on flyers/posters should I call it a nappuccino, a nappy natter, or are those too twee / vague and better just to call it nappy demo/ coffee morning?

Good luck for tonight Pidj!

rrreow · 08/05/2013 12:57

I like nappuccino, but maybe also put nappy chat or demo in parentheses, as I wouldn't have known what a nappuccino was until I actually got into reusables.

My yarn arrived today to make this blanket, I am so excited!!

It's DS's 2nd birthday today! Wow I can't believe it's been 2 years.

PurplePidjin · 08/05/2013 14:00

It didn't. But, he's now napping in his cot properly during the day after a little persistence so i haven't given up hope.

Yet.

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 08/05/2013 20:09

I fell asleep on the sofa before for about 10mins. Then had a small chubby toddler sticking his fingers in my belly button.

I don't know how many times ds3 woke last night, he hasn't slept much today either so god knows what tonight brings.

You certainly are spreading the fluffy love biscuit, excellent.

2? Where does it go R?

NappyHappy · 08/05/2013 20:10

That blanket is beautiful.

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 08/05/2013 21:35

Oh that blanket looks lovely. So nice to have something you've made yourself. I've got my granny knitting for baby biscuit as it would take me about 2 years to make a cardi that she can do in a day...

Happy birthday to your little boy rrreow!

Good luck for tonight NH... We are going away for the weekend with some friends so expecting even less sleep than usual as she will be in a strange bed... Luckily our friends all have kids too so we will all be shattered Grin

NappyHappy · 09/05/2013 09:21

Bed for 8pm then he was awake 11, 2 and 3.30. Stirred between then and 6 but he went back to sleep. Dh is on nights this weekend so I'll get better quality sleep (I'm hoping!)

How were everyone else's nights? Might put him to bed with ds2 at 7 and see what happens.

I've converted one to cloth and working on another! Wink

The general waste bins are now fortnightly so now is time!!

PurplePidjin · 09/05/2013 10:16

Went down at 7:15 (from a 6:15 start of feed!) dream feed at 10 woke him so back down at 11:15, awake at 2 and 4:30, up for the day at 7:15. I'm fucked.

OP posts:
rrreow · 09/05/2013 10:59

Yay for cloth conversion! All the people I know are too close to potty training, so I can't convert anyone. I did mention training pants to a friend of mine though who has some trouble with her nearly 4 yo who is technically potty trained but just can't be bothered going for a wee when he needs to. I have to send her some info. What training pants are good?

DS woke once at 5am and I am dead now Grin but I think I would've been anyway, I had a run of about 4-5 days where I felt really amazing (not tired, not pregnant) but yesterday and today I've just felt exhausted, heavy and achy. I'm guessing the baby is doing some growing or something.

NappyHappy · 09/05/2013 14:50

I can imagine! My god. What is going on with our boys?! Here's me thinking weaning would help. How wrong.

At least you got some sleep R WinkWink

Ds2 has just shoved a hot brew all over me. Ouch.

Not even looked into training pants yet Smile
