Losing anonymity on MN - has it happened to you?

HI, some people may have read my earlier thread about this which is now deleted as are all my earlier posts and comments on other threads. The reason for this is that a friend of my boss at work told her my MN name (she worked it out, I don't know the friend but she's a regular poster on here, a lot of you will know who she is but I'm still not sure about divulging her name) and then sent her an email link to some of my most embarrassing threads. I found out about it on Friday and have been stewing over what to do. I decided to get my posts etc. deleted and maybe take a new name or maybe keep a different name for more sensitive stuff. I'm pretty fed up about it as some of the threads like my quitting smoking chats have been a saviour to me and I now feel I can't post on them as freely as before. But still.

Anyway, wanted to let you know that's why my name comes up as 'message deleted' all over the place. I'm not banned.

Yet!

Blimey, what a horrible thing to do mll, are you ok? I was wondering what had happened - this was being discussed on another thread.

MarsLady · 13/08/2005 15:59

I'm sorry that she would do that to you. I'm also sorry that you will have to lose your wonderful name.

Hope to see you soon in another incarnation (is that the word I mean?)

blooming well out her mummylonglegs!!! She did it to you

WideWebWitch · 13/08/2005 16:00

I completely understand if you don't want to name her but hey, she's probably reading this. So why did she do it? What could she possibly have to gain by telling your boss what you think about breastfeeding/childbirth/nappies/other boring childrne stuff? What a bitch. I'd be upset if this happened to me. Did your boss tell you?

puff · 13/08/2005 16:02

How appalling and childish of her.

jampots · 13/08/2005 16:03

more to the point, did you tell your boss about her threads?

I still don't get why someone would do this. It's so underhand. And sending it to your boss as well!

Out her. I would. Why should she stay anonymous when you're not?

WideWebWitch · 13/08/2005 16:05

I agree and will join in the chanting I just can't think why someone would do this, WHY?

tiredemma · 13/08/2005 16:08

what a bitch,

i say out her,

what a cruel, immature thing to do.

jampots · 13/08/2005 16:08

there's a good idea aimsmum.

MLL - you dont have to tell us if you feel uncomfortable with it but you could send us in the right direction. Lets start with chatname initial?

jampots · 13/08/2005 16:08

lockets - you beat me to it

snafu · 13/08/2005 16:09

Have you asked her why she did it, mll?

WideWebWitch · 13/08/2005 16:09

tbh if you outed her she'd be the one who needed to chnage her name because everyone would be v pissed off with someone who could do that.
