Franca, do you still see Brange? Her detox is loooongggg

gio71 · 23/12/2009 20:48

Hi Cristina. Take them to Piazza Navona definitely. The market there over Christmas is very children orientated with loads of stalls selling tat and sweets! The children's museum is good as well for an indoor activity, have a look here www.mdbr.it/inglese/
Villa Borghese park is great for a walk and run around for them, there are a few merry go round type activities, you can hire bikes, do horse rides, go boating etc. There are a few climbing frame activity areas as well. There is also the zoo in Villa Borghese. There are various temporary ice rinks around the city as well. Let me know if you want any more specific info and will see if can help. New Years Eve celebrations centre around Piazza del Popolo which is normally mad busy. Be aware of random fireworks being set off from balconies all over the city on the 31st as well! Lethal and drives me insane every year! Have a good time anyway, eat lots of pandoro, roast chestnuts and get a panino with roast porchetta when you are in Piazza Navona .

I was going to suggest moving into MM's pad....[shhhhhh]

Thank you Camo, that noise was really getting on my nerves!

Camomilla · 23/12/2009 20:50

pippi, if you need and don't mind being a bit tight, you're more than welcome here!

AlliwantforXmasisMcnultysbum · 23/12/2009 20:52

Won't the Coucil have a duty to house you somewhere (Pippi and family descend on posh hotel overlooking Hampstead Heath....)

PippiliveslikeLauraIngalls · 23/12/2009 21:04

Thanks a lot Camo but I was joking really. We are happy to be home and happy to have people around. I do not care about everything being perfect as long as we are all together [volemose bene emoticon].

forgot about MM's pad...

PippiliveslikeLauraIngalls · 23/12/2009 21:08

pippi has vison of moving in [[http://www.bealeshotels.co.uk/westlodgepark/ here] like that time dh booked it as a surprise while heavily pregnant and stranded in barkshire. Bliss.

AlliwantforXmasisMcnultysbum · 23/12/2009 23:04

SuiGeneris · 24/12/2009 06:18

Delighted things are improving for all, esp Pippi's odd pains. iPod has deleted this post in medias res 4 times already, so will be telegraphic: merry Christmas everyone and "see" you on Boxing Day!

TheMysticMasseuse · 24/12/2009 09:59

Oh Pippi shame my pad is now totally empty and i have handed out the keys to the agent otherwise you would have been more than welcome (sleeping on floors....)

i still think you need to push the hotel card. Promise to pay DH back in kind

I made it to Rome, recovering a bit, dds making me pay my desertion with non stop tantrums. Am about to go make panettone bread and butter pudding, i am sure my family will be converted to all things anglo-italian after this.

dh coming tonight- and this will be the end of our 3 months long separation. i have had enough. althoguh i daresay it was good for our relationship, i miss him too much!

buon natale a tutte, wherever you are!!!

Camomilla · 24/12/2009 12:37

just a quick one while jamie's gravy simmers.. turkey ready, makng ragu' (or maybe cottage pie for tonight, haven't decided), then it'll be panettone bread and butter and lasagne. presents will have to wait tonight, or maybe this pm if dp manages to finish cleaning and getting the dc out for a bit. am already shattered, but hey, that's xmsa.

anyway, buon natale a tutte e fam!!!

gio71 · 24/12/2009 19:44

CristinaTheAstonishing · 24/12/2009 20:03

Thank you very much for the replies. Sounds like there's quite a bit to do. We love fireworks and try and see them in a different city every New Year! Have a great Christmas everybody, I'll let you know where we went. Thanks again.

PippiliveslikeLauraIngalls · 24/12/2009 22:19

They reconnected the heating this morning. Now after a night out we came back to a house smelling badly of gas so we are here wrapping presents at the last minute and waiting for transco.

Quick Post Buon Natale Tutti .....
Paresnts computer stuffed and our laptop won't recognise their modem !!
Made it after daley due to snow and deicing at Vce the on descent o LGw we were diverted to Birmingham. Easy Jet were going to coach us to LGW but we managed ( SOOO LUCKY) to get a car and we made the correct decision to drive down that night . Right as the next day teh roads were closed.
Flybe managed to charge my mum £148 to sawp us on to a 8pm flight from LGW which they cancelled and they are saying we can'thave our money back ......Its christmas no not fighting until the new Year,
Its been hectic but worth it as GPs so happy with the girls and the girls have had a great day so far. Minirosa has slapped cheek ( 5a malatia ????) not suffering much but a bit grumpy !
Hope that you are all well fellow Little Italy members..... Baci and a presto not sure when !!

Wow Rosa your trip sounds as bad as ours! Hope MiniR is better soon.

Anyway, Buon Natale everyone, we had a good day stuffing ourselves. Xmas eve the kids built a snowman, wonder if they-ll ever get to do that again! I only remember 1 snowy xmas from my childhood.

Anyway it rained last night and most of the snow is gone, so hopefully won-t have problems getting home, I have seen enough of airports, buses etc.

Pippi hope your house is warm now!

minervaitalica · 26/12/2009 17:22

Buon Natale everyone. I hope everyone survived the festivities and the rain/snow etc... Our snowman disappeared on Xmas eve, after resisting through 2 days of continuous rain. We had a good time but I am cooked out - so it will be snacks until tuesday when it is DH's bday, and he requested an Indian meal.

MM, glad you are enjoying the holiday after the stress of moving (and [jealous] of your B&B pudding - I am the only one who likes it here...).

PIppi I hope transco arrived...

Francagoestohollywood · 26/12/2009 17:32

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Pippi hope your house is now nice and warm.
Auguri a tutti!!!
