As you may know TrinityRhinos dh died in August and a small request to buy some shoes turned into a very loving, giving thread to help Trinity, another Mumsnetter (sleepwhenidie) suggested that maybe we could sort getting TR a present for her and she has been hankering after this coat
for over a year, I started a paypal fund which currently has around £470 in it and thought I'd cheekily email Boden to ask for a discount on the coat and this is the most fantastic email reply I received today

'Dear Michelle,

Thanks for getting in touch, Trinity is very fortunate to have such good friends.

We would love to give you this coat for Trinity, plus a £50 Boden gift voucher for each of her daughters and step sons.

Please let me know which size and colour you would like and I'll get the coat ordered for you.

Best wishes
Josie'

How bloody fantastic is that!!![grin
now means all the money raised can go to TR in vouchers to help try and make this Christmas a little more happy for them all

I did reply to Boden saying I better save some money and buy my dd's something from there now (although it may only be a piar of tights until the sales start!!) actually maybe I could offer dd2 as a model (she does love to pose!)

treedeLivingDeadery · 02/11/2009 21:04

I thought they might knock 20% off and send £30 for the PR - but this is actually quite a big gift!! I am impressed. I think they really mean to be kind.

Awww!! DS will be able to get lovely baby things, and the girls will have such fun choosing too and.....

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 02/11/2009 21:04

Still welling up at Boden's generosity,

....and EandH, and other people co-ordinating.....in whatever guise you live you lives, you are angels for giving your time so selflessly...

I am going to do a bit of Christamas shopping at their site to give a bit of appreciation.

Boden...Thanks.

atworknotworking · 02/11/2009 21:05

I've never looked at the site before, but some very nice pieces and found lots of things that I definately NEED!

DH not amused !

Thank you for supporting our friend Trinity

(erm TESCO if you notice this is what GOOD PR is)

whomovedmychocolatecookie · 02/11/2009 21:08

Ah that's lovely. Funnily enough my Boden catalogue arrived today and I was wondering if I should order DD some stuff. Think I will now

eandh · 02/11/2009 21:09

Whoever asked what I do in RL I work in a bank (Abbey so have to have the patience of a saint to deal with the balls up that can occur!) and also do voluntary role at dd2's preschool (takes about 2-3 hours a week organising stuff and helping the manager etc) however I have o say that this has been the most rewarding thing I have ever done (and big thanks to sleepwhenidoe for the idea and emails and stressed2007 helping reply to people and emailing me to help...couldnt have done it without them )

RockQuinoa · 02/11/2009 21:21

Gosh!

eandh · 02/11/2009 21:23

disenchanted its by default I worked for Bradford and Bingley for almost 11 years and then we got nationalised and Abbey bought out the branches so work for them now (however service is our branch is so much better than normal Abbey branches as still all old B&B staff ) am lucky that I only work all day monday and 9.30-2.30 on fridays (went part time after dd1) so not that involved in the rubbish stuff
