An overhead projector - I mean writing on the acetate with those cool pens!!

The scanning guns in Boots.

So sad.

whymummy · 20/05/2003 10:38

ive used a slicing machine theyre great!!
i`d love to drill someones teeth as well

snickers · 20/05/2003 10:38

A petrol powered strimmer in the jungle at the bottom of the garden - but think I would only be able to hold it for about 5 minutes, they're really heavy and I'm such a weed!

P.S. If anyone comes on here wanting to have a go at a tractor mower, come on over! They make cutting the grass a HOOT!

breeze · 20/05/2003 10:39

Ride operation at the fun fair.

Britabroad · 20/05/2003 10:39
  • One of those crane things with that big swinging ball that smashes buildings.
- My dads remote control!
SoupDragon · 20/05/2003 10:41

M2T - we did our wedding list at Debenhams for the simple reason they gave you a scanning gun and let you loose in the store to complile your list!!

Jaybee · 20/05/2003 10:41

Hang Gliding - yes honestly! Have often been driving by Dunstable Downs and its looks so much fun. Have already tried various weird sports like Gliding, Water skiing, Jet skiing, wind surfing.
Edgarcat - floor polisher - why??? That brings back memories of a Saturday job in a hairdressers - they had wooden block flooring and my last job of the day was polish the floor - personally, I would be happy if I never saw a floor polisher again.

Mum2Toby · 20/05/2003 10:43

Soupie - Really?? COOOOOOOOOL!

SoupDragon · 20/05/2003 10:46

Yep, M2T. They still do it apparently so if you're having a wedding list and have a Debenhams near you, there's your chance! It was the only way I could get DH involved in it with any degree of enthusiasm. I had to wrestle the scanner away from him to have a go myself.

SoupDragon · 20/05/2003 10:47

Something I've always wanted to have a go at but really really would not be able to is free fall parachuting. I'd love to know what it's like but could not possibly overcome the fear of it!

Meid · 20/05/2003 10:47

A flight simulator. Perhaps landing at Hong Kong through the skyscrapers.

Mum2Toby · 20/05/2003 10:49

Thanks Soupie!

I've always wanted a go at making a clay pot on a potters wheel. Looks amazing and I love getting my hands dirty.

nettie · 20/05/2003 10:51

Driving a formula one car!

susanmt · 20/05/2003 10:57

Mum2toby - I have done both your things you want to do and they are both FAB!
The biggest perk about being a teacher is getting to play with all the pens etc in the stationery cupboard, and writing on an OHP is the best of all! I used to work in Boots when I was at Uni, when they first got the scanners and it was SOOOOOOO exciting!

My things are :
Scuba diving (somewhere hot)
A laminator (was never allowed to use the school one)

I've done the floor polisher! In my summer holidays as a student me and a friend used to go and do cleaning in schools. The machines are really heavy if you don't so it right and make your arms ache the next door. Mind, you can get the floors to come a treat! Pity the children have to come back and spoil it really.

Mum2Toby · 20/05/2003 11:06

Is this just 'things' we'd like to have a go at or can we put 'people' here too.

SoupDragon · 20/05/2003 11:07

Behave!

Edgarcat - have you had too much caffeine this morning.
I hadn't really though about that, but now it'll annoy me! Cheers for that!
