Apart from pat self on back?

I am thinking of retraining but no idea about jobs. Those are the things I'm considering studying - what REAL ACTUAL JOBS might I get with a postgrad MA/PHD in them?

I mean ones that pay money. Any money. But must be money.

Thanks dearies.

Wanker's Corner could be resuscitated, should the need arise?

Believe it or not, I once was asked in a job interview how I "preposterously" proposed to reconcile the "obviously irreconcilable" ideas of Foucault and Merleau-Ponty.

I had dug my own grave there. I didn't get the job needless to say.

But it is perhaps possible...

Lol at wandering wankers...

Swedes · 27/04/2009 14:15

I feel the time has come to request wankers' corner again. I feel the response will be favourable so long as the request does not include a greengrocers' apostrophe.

And this time we need to ask for reasons for its refusal.

Swedes · 27/04/2009 14:16

Wilf -

Threadworm · 27/04/2009 14:16

If we resurrect Wankers' Corner, perhaps we could call it The Second Coming?

Swedes · 27/04/2009 14:18

Threadie

Threadworm · 27/04/2009 14:21

Swedes I dreamed that I and my family went on a cruise holiday for £9 per day. You were there too, but you were upset because they charged you much much more because you were a wealthy financier.

(It was good though. There was a huge forest and masses of lizards and eagles and an anteater.)

Swedes · 27/04/2009 14:43

Threadworm - I never pay more than £9 a day for a luxury cruise. Never.

Threadworm · 27/04/2009 14:54

Swedes -

I think they were in effect taxing you to make a kind of welfare-ship-of-state available for the hoi polloi (my family -- and other animals).

Threadworm · 27/04/2009 15:00

And lol at Wilf's hideous Foucault and Merleau-Ponty faux pas. My dear! What were you thinking of?

Swedes · 27/04/2009 15:25

Threadie - Ah yes, Cunard's Queen Trostsky. Marvellous ship.

I definitely don't fancy a cruise of any kidney.

There are some questions that I suspect are unanswerable, and how Scientology stopped being a shit novel and became a freaking religion is one of them.

Come and post nice things to Threadie here.
