Invitation to mumsnet book launch

Hi there

For anyone out there who doesn't yet know, the first mumsnet book, "Mums On Babies", is due to be released on March 30th. Thanks to all of you for all your contributions - we certainly couldn't have done it without you and we really hope you like the book .

The publishers, cassell-illustrated, are having a party to launch the book and hopefully drum up some press interest and we wondered if some of you who allowed your contributions to be used might like to come along. The party is being held at The Sanctuary in Covent Garden, London on Tuesday April 8th from 7-9pm and we have 75 invites to give away to the first 75 contributors who email [email protected] and say they want to come. It should be a good evening, with drinks and canapes and the odd hand or neck massage thrown in. There will be a group press photo taken during the evening ("the book we wrote" etc.) and your acceptance of the invitation means that you consent to appear in the photo.

Apologies if some of you have had this invite by email already. We had lots of "bad" email addresses when we tried to send an invite out to all the book contributors, so we thought it was fairer if we let folks know via Talk.

Hope to see lots of you there.

Congrats on being authors and thanks again,

Carrie, Justine & Rachel

Thanks Carriel - I was in Brum with fellow NCT antenatal students (our tutorial cancelled because of a bomb scare) and wanted to flick through the book with them.

SoupDragon · 10/04/2003 08:03

I think she was a friend rather than a mumsnetter

Note to self - very bad mother - must put photo of ds in wallet....

Take my word for it tho, he is gorgeous (future Tech lookalike).

Tinker · 14/04/2003 13:08

I'd never heard of her, to be honest, but being a loser, I looked up the name - she has got a 2 yr old child so.....

Thanks for worrying about me and glad you all had a fab time.

sb34 when is the Croydon meet up?

The last few weeks have been crazy!. I spent two days dealing with getting the car fixed in time for our long week end in the IOW. The next week un-packing then re-packing for a long weekend in Fance. Then on our return the down stairs toilet exploded!!!!! So for the last few days I've been getting it fixed and dealing with the mess it caused (I've had to scrub, disinfect, re-paint and lay a new floor!!!!!!!!)

Un-lucky or what!! - but maybe I deserved it with two long weekends away.

willum · 25/04/2003 21:56

I've just realised that the 7th is a Wednesday, I think my parents are leaving Tue night, Wed morning, so should be able to make it after all! Will look at other thread.
