mummyshoneys · 29/03/2009 23:09

Oh, I haven't been on here for such a long time - I had almost forgotten about it!! Nice to see some familiar faces still here - I will try and keep up now! Hope everyone has been having a busy time.

HellFireandDamnation · 01/04/2009 14:57

well we've not heard so assume it's a no - have you??

bigmummal1 · 01/04/2009 16:43

Hi there,

I have just heard from UA and DS has been pencilled in. I have to get all his meausrements as apparently he will be dressed as a baby elephant. Shoot is for 15th or 16th April.

Fingers crossed you will hear soon.

xxxxx

HellFireandDamnation · 01/04/2009 20:41

Nope - we didn't hear - hope your pencil turns into a pen though! Can't wait to find out why she needs to be in an elephant costume!

Kokoa · 02/04/2009 12:54

Hi there
I'm new to this board. I have been following it for a while now, and thought it was about time I joined.
I have two children dd 7 and dd 12 who have been with MOT since late last year. They have both had a few castings- but no jobs yet. They have been invited to attend an open day for BB next week. Is any one else on here going, or have any experience with them.

Thanks

Mummykisses · 03/04/2009 12:33

WINEGUM - Its an IT fee for the website. I was going to join another agency but they charge a yearly fee.
When I asked BK about this they emailed ma back straight away with this:
Thank you for your email.

BIZZYKIDZ do not charge a joining fee at all. The only fee payable is a one off payment of £120 to the web company that we contract the work out to, which includes the printing and designing of model cards (which would normally be around £45-£70), the web design and creating of your childs email address link (£30), the instigation of a license application (some agencies charge £25) and any amendments which need to be made to the site i.e. new shots sizes for the coming years free of charge. There is no annual re-newal to this as it is a one off fee. I think you will find it very difficult to find an agency that does not charge something for this kind of work and regardless of this, it is at the agencies discretion.

We are an extremely busy agency and hold a high reputation in the industry. If you wish your child to be included in this agency, unfortunately we do not carry out this work and contract it out to another company, hence the fee (which is actually subsidised by us). The largest and longest standing agency in Britain (which is also the founder member of the British Association of Model Agencies), charge £25 to interview, almost £200 EVERY year to be on their books and almost £100 for shots EVERY year. They do not take this out of your fees and neither do we. If an agency does do this it is at their own discretion. You will also find we are one of the cheapest for this work.

I anticipate that the above answers your queries, however, should you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me again.

Kind regards

BIZZYKIDZ

I have had alot of offers of work and as they work a commision basis they only eran from you should your child get work.
I am from London, but we have been to casting all over and othe parents have come from all over to the local castings to me.
They do have clients in Scotland I know that much.
I hope this helps?
xx

HellFireandDamnation · 03/04/2009 16:39

Apparently Mothercare doing a big job on clothes for babies - anyone get casting (we didn't!)

bigmummal1 · 03/04/2009 16:45

We have just heard back from UA and the Fairy job has definitely been confirmed for DS. Have sent off everything for the license so hopefully we will get it in time. x

whinegums · 03/04/2009 19:33

Mummykisses - thanks for that. I may just do it, and not tell DP....

HellFireandDamnation · 03/04/2009 20:32

bigmumma - oh big congrats - come back and tell all!!

pureeandpearls · 03/04/2009 20:50

You are a cunning fox Whinegums!!

HFD- we're not getting any calls at the moment

Bigmumma- awesome news! Well done and tell all when you're done. I shall live vicariously through you!

mummyeme · 04/04/2009 19:27

hi all,
interesting reading what bk have to say about es (longest standing child agent in britain) it's completely innaccurate. dds just been offered a contract - 1)they no longer hold any assesment so that £25 is false 2)yearly subscription is in fact £175 3)photos by an industry name and highly regarded photographer cost £60 NOT £100 (cheaper than BK and taken by a professional)and a parent will never pay the license fee that is what the agency may charge the client (with any agency).
Sorry it's just having had a terrible experience with BK even telling me clients weren't interested when she was getting jobs and castings with another agency! Seriously consider all options before giving a penny to them, there are plenty of other agencies around - don't make the same mistake I did and giving out false info as they have just sums them up in my opinion

fattycatty · 04/04/2009 23:49

Hi everyone
I decided to go with bizzykidz after the advice on here cos of one off fee really and dont fancy haveing to fork out every year really.Got a photositting with them on thursday and taking my license stuff in with me so with a bit of luck will get some work. They seem really nice though and I asked them about the fee and didnt get that letter you got. Ill let you know how we go in the week
cant wait to get into something and get a job but does it take a while does anybody no?

whinegums · 05/04/2009 11:49

Oh, now I just don't know again! To BK or not to BK...

Totallyfloaty35 · 05/04/2009 12:32

my elder dds with BK,they have both had jobs and castings with them. They are prompt in getting back to you. They are a big agency so i suppose they have a lot of internal competition. It can be quiet with any agency,dd was with bb an only had 1 casting in a year. youngest DD is with u/a she had a fantastic first year and nothing for the next year. Its a waiting game,a lot depends on childs age/look agencies client list.Im hoping youngest dd will get busier as she comes out of terrible 2 stage.

dtb · 05/04/2009 18:37

my daughter has been offered a place with rascals modelling london, does anyone have any information on them, would be really greatful as going down next week to have photos done,

Mummykisses · 06/04/2009 12:26

mummyeme - Sounds like you had a rough time. BK only charge £5 more for photo shoots and it is also with a professional, just to update your pics is only £23, they are very cheap.
ES must have just changes as when I applied my 2 they were asking for a Yearly fee and their photo shoots were a lot more expensive. The assessments must have been dropped too as they were charging not too long ago, a friend of mine applied to ES and they were charging then (Feb09) and BK charge the Licence fee to the client too, the parents do not pay anything else. As BK clearly said to me when I joined it is to the discretion of the Client as to whether your child gets the job or not, its not BK's choice.
Sham you had a bad experience as I have found them to be nothing but fantastic from DAY 1.

Luce2006 · 06/04/2009 20:16

HI there
anyone went to the ELC casting today? I took my DS( 2 1/2) but I doubt he will get it. He refused to smile and when I asked him why he didn't want to he told me that he didn't like the photographer!LOL

Onthebeach · 09/04/2009 20:05

kokoa, how did your dd's get on at b&b open day?, my ds (4yrs) went too, they told us they would let us know if they would like him on their books but we have not heard yet, was wondering if you had heard anything?

julie4travel · 11/04/2009 18:17

quad - did you see thursdays papers with other kids from shoot in paper? was in quite a few papers i believe.

mummyegg · 19/04/2009 10:46

Hellfire and Bigmummal are you with UA South or North.

I only ask as i am with North and haven't heard of either casting fairy or Mothercare.

We did get called about a Burberry casting but declined as it was in London and we are in the North.

pureeandpearls · 19/04/2009 20:57

We haven't had anyting for quite a while and we are UAS

bigmummal1 · 20/04/2009 21:37
