The Double Decker kids on TV, Why Dont You, Charlies Angels, Alvin Stardust, Spacedust, Abba, Hectors House, when I was a bit older watching the Professionals, couldnt miss it. I could go on for ages on this one.

Snugs · 24/03/2005 15:34

But can you tell me the name of the resin-pouring-make-your-own-paperweights-thingy?

I always thought I could rely on the bottomless well of Mumsnet knowledge. I think I may have to sulk instead

anorak · 24/03/2005 15:37

Vesta curry. All dried, just add water...

turquoise eye shadow

hair with 'flicks'

Ford capri with black hatchback driven by a boy you fancied

national health specs in pink or blue.

LIZS · 24/03/2005 15:41

Do you mean that stuff whre you made a layer of clear then put something in and then a layer of colour. My brother had a set and immortalised his baby teeth !! My mum still has some creations in her nick-nack cabinet. Plasti -something I think

Snugs · 24/03/2005 15:45

LIZS - YES! thats the stuff. This is getting silly now, I really should find something useful to do with my time - but it is driving me mad! Even if I find the name of the stuff, I doubt that they make it anymore.

almostanangel · 24/03/2005 15:50

ok bro dont know but says you can get it in craft shops tho

OP posts:
Snugs · 24/03/2005 15:53

Really? I did try our local craft shop last year - but the young twenty something behind the counter looked at me as if I was crazy and tried to sell me some Plaster of Paris stuff and moulds.

I shall try again - I now have an insane urge to make lots of little paperweights with silly things caught inside

Goblin Teasmades ..

Snugs · 24/03/2005 16:01

Don't think so - I don't remember having to bake it. We mainly made paperweights - you poured a bit of resin, put some colour in and let it half set, then poured another layer and put a flower or whatever in and topped up with more resin. Stuck little bits of felt on the bottom so the finished thing didn't scratch.

I was only little tho (the stuff was bought for my sister) so maybe I am remembering wrong.

Snugs · 24/03/2005 16:09

wild - thank you. Thats the name I thought of in the first place but couldn't track it down so assumed I was wrong.

no I am sure that's it, snugs, I was a fiend for those paperweights, everyone had them for pressies. I have not seen it anywhere since. Probably it was far too toxic for a recreational market!

Snugs · 24/03/2005 16:19

Have searched on plastikraft and mainly get golf bags!

Found fond memories of plasticraft from other people but sadly, no way to track it down to buy.

I do remember the smell was rather heady - bit like sniffing marker pens at the back of class!

almostanangel · 24/03/2005 16:33

Snugs · 24/03/2005 16:39

almostanangel - no, was thinking more along the lines of pressed flowers or a nice insect or two, but now you have given me the idea....

Off to kitchen to find meat cleaver, be warned dh, don't annoy me
