Don't you remember that on Marks' carrier bags? It might have been "The sell-by date means that St Michael foods are fresh. And sinking into the ground when my mum kicked up a fuss in there because she had to pay for a carrier bag after spending what must have seemed like a small fortune.

And Argos catalogues when they read like a hardware catalogue ...

I was a member of the Puffin Book Club too - my Mum got me membership for my Bday - I was so pleased! - how sad was I?
Remember going away to boarding school in '76 - 3 weeks till the first w/e home was soooo long!

My Mum had a yougart maker which she was so proud of - it was disgusting! Put me of yougart for years!

Yuk!! The yoghurt maker. My mum had one of those, followed in the early 80's by the waffle maker. In between there was the electric carving knife. All now gathering dust in the back of her cupboards, muttering mutinously to themselves and planning a comeback tour.
Bumps on your birthday is probably now banned on health and safety grounds and yes Hellsy , I remember being able to play in the street when I was about 7 even roaming around the block sometimes. Slack parents or a different time do you think?
