still cannot believe that is our little chap that thi shas happened to.

apparently the dog flipped out because of a musiacl bit of play equipment...which little dnep happened to be jumping on.

teh bigger children jumped away...but dnep wanst quick enough.

the dog picked him up by the leg and shook him for what my bro says was six or seven seconds.

by which time my sil pulled the dog off....felt hot patch...pulled his jeans down and saw terrible damage

teh ownwer apparantly said 'he's not a dangerous dog' over and again....,.DERRRR NEWS FLASH!!!

having been around he/the owner then somehow made a dash for it with the dog...and was obviously pursued by my bro ,some friends and other bystanders...i think he was arrested?..not sure but the police are def involved.

dnep is in hosp and will be for days...very deep wounds on his leg...three hrs in surgery to clean up....on morpheine...all zonked...poor sil with him.

this man must be a moron...a fing cnting moron to not be able to update his opinion of his dog given what he witnessed....un bel ievable

That letter is un-be-fucking-levable.

If all the insane things I have read over the years, that is about the lowest, and madest and most self serving

ImnotMamaGbutsheLovesMe · 12/10/2008 18:45

Is this letter for real?

How on earth has he thought to try and find the parents and then trawled the web and just happened to have found a post about his animal?

themildmannneredjanitor · 12/10/2008 18:46

how very odd this is.
what would make the dog owner come on here to beg for mercy?
how would they know?

ImnotMamaGbutsheLovesMe · 12/10/2008 18:46

my point exactly

themildmannneredjanitor · 12/10/2008 18:47

i'm sorry but it's all a bit

Marina · 12/10/2008 18:48

Beans, forward that post to the police. It should not be too difficult to trace a dog of that breed and name recently out of quarantine from the US, if the post from "Amir" is for real.
The idea that such an unpredictable dog could be used as a therapy dog for children with SN is just risible. Which makes me wonder if this is just a wind-up.
I do hope your dnep recovers soon Beans.
Round our way all play areas are fenced off and unless someone is deliberately breaking the byelaws dogs cannot get access to play equipment.

In the other recent dog attack one of the victims was called Amir. Coincidence?

Chocolateteapot · 12/10/2008 18:51

Only just seen this. So sorry this has happened to your poor nephew beansontoast. I do hope he is feeling a little better. What him and his parents have been through I can not imagine.

I am appalled beyond words that Amir has come on here and written the post he has and even more appalled if that is possible to hear that he ran away after the incident. If it was my child there would be absolutely no way I could sleep properly until I heard the dog had been destroyed.

Buda · 12/10/2008 18:52

Christ. Beans - how unutterably awful. How is your nephew now? Poor little mite.

Amir - get a grip. The dog attacked. the dog which should have been muzzled. Then you ran away. What happens next time the dog hears a bell?

Put the damn dog down. It is a dangerous animal.

Right - now that that is dealt with WTF do we do with someone as stupid as you? I have no answers.

jolly2006 · 12/10/2008 23:27

Just been reading the threads, Beans really hope dneph is ok. this is clrly the owners fault and not the dog. ths being said, many of you are bing to harsh re letter. If the let is real then its an apology as i read it. dsnt sound like he is some sort of criminal o/wise plce would have already arrested him.
anyway very sad for both parties

HRHSaintMamazon · 12/10/2008 23:29

omg i hope your nephew is ok.

it is people like this that give all owners of large dogs a bad name

salsmum · 13/10/2008 00:10

I personally think that if the Dog [in amirs letter] was a therapy dog it would have undergone very stringent tests as to its suitability around disabled children/people.
The phobia the dog has about bell sounds would have meant rejection as therapy dog so I suspect this letter to be a hoax.
I have seen a Pit Bull attack and kill another dog [which was being walked by a child]that was bad enough I cannot imagine how awfull it must have been to witness a child being attacked .
If the owner knew the dog had phobias why have it off lead?

salsmum · 13/10/2008 00:12

Sorry hit button too early. I meant to add I hope your nephew makes a full and speedy recovery. poor baby.

SaTanicGore · 13/10/2008 00:22

Oh beans, I hope your nephew recovers soon. He is a cheeky looking little fella.

In view of what has happened elsewhere on MN with cod, can I suggest for your own sake that you get this thread deleted, maybe repost with an update on nephew in a few days with less detail.

The attack is in the news so family details are now easily searchable.

goosylousie · 13/10/2008 09:51

Hi beans, hope your nephew is ok and making a speedy recovery.

I think 2 many individuals on this thread have lost the plot, you mums obviously have 2 much time on your hands or just bored.

The individual, judging from the letter is clearly feeling remorse and its a shame that u all can't see that, who was that famous person that once said "let he without sin cast the first stone"

This was a horrible accident that involved a child, but I am sure it was not planned.

By the way before u all start putting together conspiracy theories, no i dont know who the owner of the dog is. The above is just my opinion.

lou031205 · 13/10/2008 10:20

Where is this incident in the news? I can't find it at all, anywhere.

SaTanicGore · 13/10/2008 10:29

I don't want to link it, but it is easy enough to find if you goggle the key words of the breed, location and then go to news.

SaTanicGore · 13/10/2008 10:30

Or you could even try google.

mamadiva · 13/10/2008 10:36

Okay first of all I hope your nephew makes a speedy recovery, how is he now? Poor little mite must be so confused by it all.

Second, 'Amir' if you are even really the owner of that bloody monster you call a pet then seriously do you really think it won't do it again?

You probably didn't think it would do it once so why the hell should it live? If my dog ever bit a child then I'd have it straight to the vet and destroyed because there is no way I'd want to risk it happeneing again.

Also did I read that it was an American pitbull? Those are illegal in this country or didn't you know that? They are part of the dangerous dogs act so if the police get it they will kill it anyway.

Also just had to add this seems a bit 'convenient' that the owner found this page don't you? If it all really ahppened so sorry for you and your family but if not get a life and don't talk of such things.

ggglimpopo · 13/10/2008 10:39

Gooseylousie - the next child to be unlucky enough to ring a bell in the vicinity of this dog may not live to tell the tale.

I cannot see how you can even consider giving the dog a second chance. And I love dogs and am a dog owner.

ggglimpopo · 13/10/2008 10:40

Oh, and the famous person you are referring to was Jesus......who was talking about human sin, not a dangerous dog.

littleducks · 13/10/2008 10:44

i have read the news story as well and it sounds absolutley horrific, the toddler has already had two ops and may need more in the future

i think that the whole amir thing is probably trolling and is best ignored

i cant believe people still desire these dogs and are so blinkered:

Richard Webb, 26 of Leybourne Road, said: "It's easy for people to see pitbulls as devil dogs.

"I own three dogs, a cocker spaniel, a bulldog and a pitbull, and the pitbull is by far the friendliest.

"The sad thing is that that child will probably grow up fearing those types of dogs."

I cant believe anybody would believe that 'the sad thing' for this child would be being scared of (bloody awful imo) certain dogs, the prro child is in hosp has had surgery, been in extreme pain, may be frightened of being attcked, seen that sometimes his parents can make the pain go away etc. those are much 'sadder' things

There needs to be a tightening up of regulations for these dogs, they need to be confiscated and destroyed if ever spotted without a muzzle

Aitch · 13/10/2008 10:44

"This was a horrible accident that involved a child, but I am sure it was not planned."

littleducks · 13/10/2008 10:47

mn is going crazy isnt it?!?

amir is pretty mad but now gooseyloosey?

and i forgeot to say originally i hope the poor little boy has a speedy recovery
